5:50 How hard would it have been to take the black bracket off the wheel and then press the bearings on using a press, bench vice or even a G clamp? I’m wondering if all that hammering has or could damage the bracket and cause alignment issues and that is why the CNC part is rubbing.
That was my initial plan after struggling with the first couple of bearings. Unfortunately, the hex bolts that connect the slider frame to the motor must have been red-loctite on because I was gonna strip the bolts trying to get them off. I decided to pick my battles and keep hammering. I also was concerned about warping so I was visually checking periodically, and they're straight as an arrow; and they slid into the frame like butter with no resistance. So I think the rubbing is just the two front pieces slightly touching each other, which should go away after some use (I hope).
@@landocycle I won't help you now but maybe try heat to soften most loctite. Not sure about red though but it's worth a try in future. A soldering iron placed into the head of the hex bolt for a few mins should have an effect.
Put the sliders in the freezer and the rolers in warm water then they just slide on. By simply hammering the bearings on, you collapse the aluminum pin. and thats why its so hard to get them on.
does it have some vibrations while trying to troley it around? try some movements back and forth. mine have that thing. how wide are wheels? it seems like there are a lot of movements sidewise and motor doesn’t stand tight. I think you should have minimum 9mm wide wheels to prevent it. the metal noise you are hearing can be because of your roller rods are scretching the outer frame inside. its a bad thing and can lead to frame cracks
The motor makes some grunting type sounds/vibrations when starting or changing direction - that's normal. I didn't notice any abnormal motor play. The slider went in butter smooth so I would be surprised if it's damaging the c-channels but time will tell.
Just the two bolts on the kill switch handle and it drops out. If the motor had a disconnect like s18, we wouldn't have to open the top. Just put the sliders on mine today, smooth as butter.
One more subscriber for you 👍 This arrived just at the right time 😃 I've only just started putting the 3D printed version together. I prefer to do the aluminium version but getting them here (other side of the world - hot and sunny here!) is just too much. Do you have the CNC files / Drawing? You made me think that I could get them made here. The 'tyres' on the bearings. Where did they come from? The 3D printed version I'm using doesn't look like it will last all that long. Keep up with the good work 😎
Well just installed it and now it is acting funny electrically eeee... Emailed rev rides.. seems like the handle isnt SNAPPING Like it used to. It wouldn't turn on at first and now it does but making an odd sound and rotating even though its disengaged
@@landocycle yeah i know right... My last EUC was a v12 and when i broke the rim it took me 5 times of taking it back apart to get it to work. Was fairly confident i followed all the steps i really don't know what i did differently about the handle here... =\
@@landocycle so no more maintenance then? my s22 doesn't rebound back at all after a week of riding, it was perfect when I got it, now once it compresses you have to start lifting the wheel for it to rebound. think changing the sliders might help

Well done anyway, good explanation and props for showing the ‘warts and all’ 👏🏻 (gift - German/Danish word for ‘poison’!) ps -watch Marty’s suspension mod video for your next $20 modification to the shock bushing fixings (they’re too short as is) 👍🏻
I came to the conclusion using a drill is not needed.... if it has loctite just jerk it and maybe use a blow dryer and yank it to break the thread locker
So sad you must purchase them and not supplied by kingsong...poor poor kingsong that has my $3200... And ohhh gee did not have to do this on the s18 for a $1000 less!!!
That is not a "must have upgrade for your EUC" it is something super obvious that should have been there in the first place. Sorry you had to waste so much of your time to fix KingSong's moronic mistake.
I wouldn't buy this on principle any product that needs work after they release should be the manufactors issue not yours, you paid got money for this wheel why are we accepting this :) great video mate. just wait it wont last i have seen numerous of these videos not lasting hoipefully your one does mate.
You can pull the motherboard though the frame.. Saves alot of time.
Got mine in today 😊😊😊 gonna be busting it out
it's definitely worth the hard install!
Very cool my good man. Fine work all round
thumbs up for your euc stand, will go for it too
I used a 8MM socket to hammer down my bearings, no issue and super easy
I tried the same thing! With, and without extensions, even greased everything - mine must have been abnormally tight.
Liked and subbed. Great info and video. Hope you get some good riding in.
Huge difference my s22 is a dream to ride now
great video - keep up the good work ! i learn a lot from you . respect !
That means a lot, thank you! I’ve got lots of new video plans for 2023 😎
I will wait and see, before buying any rails.
For now I use dry lub on the sliders.
Good call. I’m just doing it so you guys can know if it’s worth it or not.

@@thechumpsbeendumped.7797 yah, I just didn’t want to mess with it tbh. But I think it would make getting the bearings on easier for sure.
You’ll need a small bearing puller to remove the small bearing wheels if you need to replace or service them or their sliders.
@@freeforester1717
That’s not what we’re talking about. Removal is strait forward, it was the installation he was having problems with.

Have you done the shock bolt yet they need to be changed KS used to small of a length and the bind also
I have not, thanks for the info
What size and thickness is the washer i lost it.
There is an easier way to remove the wheel. Search UA-cam for 'Easier way to remove the Kingsong S22 Motor'.

Will the slider be upgraded too by kingsong?
They’re making their own version which will be included on the new S22. You’re SOL if you already own one.
How would one go about eliminating the grinding sound you mentioned at the end of the video?
Mine’s gone already just needs to wear in.

does the sliders fit S22 Pro version, as original sliders replacement?
Yep I think so.
Gostaria de adquirir mas estou no Brasil
the whole point is not to disconnect motor and hall wires
And hows the sliders in long term of use? lets say 5000km?
Gonna have to wait for that long. I don’t even think I’ve got 1,000 yet. It’s still working fine so far though.
Where did you get the sliders?
I got the files from a local rider who got them from someone else!
You gotta put on a Shinko 244 next time you work on the wheel
So you only have 16 rollers ? My kit from rev rides was 32 cnc rollers
There’s a bunch of different versions

Agreed. I wish they would have kept the S18 slider design - it was better protected from dirt, and it worked great.
