  • Tip for Hospice Nurses: UTI Delirium is pretty common in elderly pts or pts with mild to moderate dementia. If you see a sudden exacerbation of the dementia, or if the pt’s demeanor suddenly changes and they go from pleasantly confused to agitated, aggressive or combative, consider that a UTI may be the cause. Frequently I’ve seen this as the only sign of a UTI - the doctor starts antibiotics and usually within just a couple of days the pt is back to baseline. #forhospicenurses #hospice #uti #dementia #delirium #utidelirium #alzheimers #elderly #elderlycare #urinarytractinfection #urinaryincontinence #infection #antibiotics #hospicecare #hospicenurse #hospicenursesrock #palliative #palliativecare
