Would love to see a video with the old school shadow ruck backpack sometime, if you can find one. A simple stripped down go ruck that sold for $75 back in the day. Kinda like the Old School “slick” version, before they made the slick.
Great bag, that tool kit thingy is amazing. They need to bring that back and put GBG to shame. Axis is getting some major use, that makes me very happy. I freaking love my GR240L 500D. It is a forever bag, I never need to think about a travel bag again. Thanks for the video!
Very nice video as usual. How would you compare the Synik 30 to the GR2 26? I kind of wish I had a bag slightly larger to still use as my edc and my weekend trip bag.
Sorry a bit off topic, GoRuck has been out of stock on the large Wire Dopps for a while, would you happen to have any extra that you would be willing to sell? Or know any similar tech/wire pouches sold elsewhere? Thanks
@@jtinseoul7041 I actually got the Cap1 recently and really like it. It replaced my GR1 Field Pocket, which I'm probably going to sell. The Cap1 is too small, I need something quite a bit larger to organize all my tech wires, like USB wires, ethernet cables, dongles, maybe some external hard drives etc. I considered the Cap2 also but don't think its going to work.
I just got this bag and GR1 21L, thanks to you making me open my wallet...wisdom please: for the torso challenged - female, 17" torso, 130lbs. 5'6" -would you rec the Echo over the GR1 21L. Dimensions of GR1 21L: 11.5"W x 18"H x 5.5"D. Echo: 11.5"W x 16.5"H x 4.25"D as it's now available (but only holds a 13" laptop. I think new ones are 14"? Or is there another you would rec, like the Rado (not available til Spring)? Wish that packing cube still existed....Many thanks!
I want those side handles. I too also own a gr2 26L in 1000D and zippers are finally broken in after a month of use. Keep it up. Great content, keep it up
1000D is great man, once you break it in it's truly your bag. I love those vibes. The side handles, are by far my favourite mod I've gotten from SCARS.
@@jtinseoul7041 Hey jtinseoul, I'm on the fence about the side handles. It looks like they aren't centered top to bottom. So if you were to carry the bag by it, it would be weighted towards the bottom. Do you have that issue when carrying the bag by the side handle, or is it not really noticeable?
@@jtinseoul7041speaking of the GR2, especially if we’re taking the Kaidan 34 - or anything 34L and 20” or more long - how does your smaller frame make peace (aka tolerate) with longer bags? Have you found some that are better suited for the torso challenged (of which I am one and you are too - I say that with love). I would love to wear an Alpha One Niner (20”). I hated to return the Evergoods CTB35 at 20” (beautiful bag with the first lower back panel that feels like butter). Conundrum.
I don't think the height of the bag is necessarily the end of the conversation. For example, the tall Alpha One Niner tends to to fit me best of the ones you've mentioned and even better than a lot of shorter bags. A lot of this is related to the load lifters I believe.
@@jtinseoul7041I hear ya. I think you’re ever so right, some of the bags that should fit me, don’t. Trying to figure out which ones do, easier said than done (and costly). I wish I could rent them or wear them for a trial run which companies like REI (full refund within a year) and shoe companies like Hoka and Brooks allow for 30 days with a full refund. I know they’re big companies and can offer such a policy. I’d love something like a Carryology pop-up shop at a store like REI (Taylor is probably cringing) or place that gets lots of foot traffic with right demo) for the small makers to showcase their wares. Crazy, probably. There’s gotta be something in it for the makers, I know. And some have all the customers they need and then some…but it’s all about me…
I mentioned it in the video, but it was an option for a short time in the past. I had a request in then and they honored it even though the job itself is really difficult and takes a lot more time than what they thought when they offered it as an option. Because it turned out to be a very, very time consuming they stopped offering it as an option and as I understand it it isn't coming back as an option. I guess it makes sense if the cost would have to be really high to cover the amount of time and labour it takes.
Great vid as usual buddy! As you know, I can't leave my GR2 26L to rotate my other bags since I got it! BTW, I love that Tool Pouch! Have you got any spare ones? Or know someone who has one? Have a good one!
This is almost impossible to say in general. Some 500D is terrible. The Evergoods stuff and the Mystery Ranch stuff for example. Even my black Bullet 15 500D is bad. It kinda goes batch to batch, run to run. Different coatings make a huge difference. The 500D GR2 26 I have doesn't tend to pick up barely anything and has a bit of a sheen to it that I assume is the coating.
My wife has a DSPTCH Daypack in white Dyneema and it's dirty, scuffed, and really well used. And honestly, I think it's the "coolest" looking bag in our house.
Hi, I haven't be able to decide between a GR 26L or Able Carry Max, the ACM is supposed to have a main compartment of 25L, since you have real experience with both bags i would like to know if the real capacity feels similar or the Able Carry Max fits way less stuff? Thank you for your reviews, they're pretty helpful. English is not my main language so sorry if it is quite garbage.
I suppose it really depends on what you want to use them for. I don't tend to use them much in general. If you were using them for like a water bottle holder you might not be able to grab the handle when a bottle was inside for example.
I would hate to be the scars guys watching this video. "Daaang this pocket must have been so hard to install. Well anyways I don't use it and it doesn't need to be there." haha
I can see how those side handles would be really helpful. Just curious... I know you are a fellow fan of MCB. Why didn't you get the GR2/26 in MCB? :) Hope you are doing well amigo!
