Don't know whose idea it was to put these two geniuses together on one stage, but it had to have been someone in heaven, because that's how they sound. Fabulous.
Artistry is not only about intracacy or about how many riffs can be played but conveying the essence of mood and beauty as shown by these virtuocy of the guitar. Thank you.
Ghani Amor Chaoui I first heard of Stanley about 8 years ago when my college room mate, a classical guitar major, put some songs on by him. Still that is 10 years after he has been around, I think he deserves more attention/recognition.
One of my greatest moments was to meet and talk to my hero Chet. I had tears in my eyes and couldn't breath. I will never forget that.. I wish I could have played a few songs with him.
The third guitarist is Mr. Paul Yandell. He worked with Jerry Reed and when Jerry stopped performing to do movies etc. he worked with Chet for 25 years. He has videos of his own here. Check them out. A great guitarist and a very nice guy.
The competition is to make us sound better. We makes me bigger better and more fun than me alone. Like they sound like one big guitar. Absolutely gorgeous. I was almost thinking one wasn't in the mix. The teamwork makes the dream work
Have seen Stanley live 3 times and had the pleasure to speak with him as well. The last time he was self accompanying guitar and acoustic piano simultaneously and wonderfully. Nobody can do what he does....nobody!
If you watch Chet in any of the videos where he's playing with someone else, he is always really focused on what the other person is doing. I taught myself how to play guitar in the late 50s listening to Chet Atkins and Lonnie Mack. To great ones for sure.
This is so much Chet and how he wanted to play with all the younger stars and up and comers... He gave a lot of exposure to so many great young players... Stanley Jordan a virtuoso player like Chet, what a combination....! Beautiful music!
Stanley's solo was BOSS. Don't really know why people are saying there were weird notes... those weird notes are meant to create tension and make the solo more interesting
@@ryreinhardt just relistened - Stanley had one "wrong" note at 3:01, which was a leading note up the the tonic, so specifically to add tension. His solo was more interesting than Grandpa Chet's imo
Two VERY GIFTED Artists you have here , what a treat to see them on stage togather ! All the young Guitar Players need a strong dose of Roy Clark and Chet Atkins to learn from and I must include George Benson and all of the GREATS ! I want to wish Everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas !
Remember what the first 4 letters are in "analyze"... especially "Over-analyzing"..... this was beautiful on both of their parts. I think all the notes had nice resolution.
Great to encounter these guitar icons on stage together... Chet's wonderful guitar style influenced so many guitarists, me included! Stanley Jordan with his finger tapping wizardry and jazz sensibilities, helped me to realise that a guitarist can push the boundaries if he wants to! Thanks so much for this, Clive Davies
What's all the hubub about? Stanley's notes at 3:02 were purposeful accidentals that fit perfectly. Like seriously, you can't diss Stanley. He frickin plays the guitar like a piano. Chet, as always, was simply magnificent.
I wish this could have been performed and recorded while Hoagy Carmichael, an idol of mine, and an Indiana favorite son, was still alive. I'm sure he would have loved this treatment of his great song by these two virtuoso artists.
That's how you can tell you're in the hands of some great musicians, they spend 4 and 1/2 minutes on a song and it feels like it was only two and it was over way too soon
Don't know whose idea it was to put these two geniuses together on one stage, but it had to have been someone in heaven, because that's how they sound. Fabulous.
Woody Thames I agree with you 10000%
Chet was a brilliant musician, composer, arranger and A & R man (RCA Records). Mr Nashville - a statue to him there.
God Blesssssss America. We will survive.
Two heavyweight guitarists-one grand song.
we should learn from the artists that so obviously respect one another
this songs are just a gift of God
love to see great players just enjoying playing with other great players and not trying to compete.
So good!
Beautiful just like a slice from Heaven👍🏿🙏🏾 Amen and Thank You.
Artistry is not only about intracacy or about how many riffs can be played but conveying the essence of mood and beauty as shown by these virtuocy of the guitar. Thank you.
I must have been living in a cave to not know Stanley Jordan before today. I've been missing some wonderful guitar played by a master.
me too...
Felt the same my self.

One of my greatest moments was to meet and talk to my hero Chet. I had tears in my eyes and couldn't breath. I will never forget that.. I wish I could have played a few songs with him.
It is best when guitarists of different styles play together. It makes things much more interesting.
I grew up listening to my dad play Chet Atkins records and trying to play his guitar like him..thanks so much for sharing
The third guitarist is Mr. Paul Yandell. He worked with Jerry Reed and when Jerry stopped performing to do movies etc. he worked with Chet for 25 years. He has videos of his own here. Check them out. A great guitarist and a very nice guy.
Chet Atkins A Legend will never forget him have all his recordings
It's amazing that two guitarists of this level could play together without making it a competition.
What I've noticed, the better the musician i mean really really good musicians, they are extremely humble andthey play from their heart
The competition is to make us sound better. We makes me bigger better and more fun than me alone. Like they sound like one big guitar. Absolutely gorgeous. I was almost thinking one wasn't in the mix. The teamwork makes the dream work
We have both kinds of music, country, and Western..........
Chester and the best of the two handed tappers.
Chet is timeless
Pure magic.
What a terrific duo, Chet Atkins and Stanley Jordan. Such feeling by both. Well done!
Soft and tender just as it should be!
Stanley Jordan and Chet Atkins awesome combo!!
Two Great Guitarists, One Stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have seen Stanley live 3 times and had the pleasure to speak with him as well. The last time he was self accompanying guitar and acoustic piano simultaneously and wonderfully. Nobody can do what he does....nobody!

One of my favorite songs and favorite guitarists .. CHET,,,,,,,,,BEAUTIFUL.
CUANTA FALTA NOS HACE ESTA MÚSICA QUE NOS LLENA DE PAZ.
Two of the very best guitarists ever, playing one of my father's favorite songs.
Stanley Jordan with a pioneer of modern guitar-Chet Atkins. RIP Mr Chet Atkins we miss you deeply.
very special! we can all get along and make beautiful music together..thanks for posting!
Ghet is as usual the king of guitar, but Stan is giving new life to all these beautiful songgs.....
1983 Stanley played on the street in NYC and I was a messenger and would throw him tips. My dad did the same for Jimi Hendrix
Ole Chet was smooth and Stanley is too... what tasty guitar work.
To beautiful sounding players on the same stage.
I'm so glad that Chet played the verse. I always miss it when someone leaves it out.
spot on!
A Timeless classic beautifully done by Chet and Stanley. This version just flat mellows me out .
So beautiful
Chet, an incredible musician, and an all around awesome human being!
Two masters with different styles, but able to adapt to one another, especially Stanley Jordan.
Great lesson in how to perform with others. Both humility and class from both of them.
If you watch Chet in any of the videos where he's playing with someone else, he is always really focused on what the other person is doing. I taught myself how to play guitar in the late 50s listening to Chet Atkins and Lonnie Mack. To great ones for sure.
Beautiful
That's just amazing stuff.

Stanley's solo was BOSS. Don't really know why people are saying there were weird notes... those weird notes are meant to create tension and make the solo more interesting
No weird notes there, my friend.
Chet was slumming it with that guy and his crappy note solos
@@ryreinhardt just relistened - Stanley had one "wrong" note at 3:01, which was a leading note up the the tonic, so specifically to add tension. His solo was more interesting than Grandpa Chet's imo
Majestic! Pure guitar domination! Beautiful poetry of the strings!
What a marvelous video. Ahh Chet I still miss ya RIP dear.
Is it impossible that some music requires musical knowledge and skill to be fully appreciated?
Genius forever!.
He's amazing!

Brilliant! 👏
I love playing "Stardust" on my Euphonium. I enjoyed this too.
Remember what the first 4 letters are in "analyze"... especially "Over-analyzing"..... this was beautiful on both of their parts. I think all the notes had nice resolution.
Just beautiful. Mr. Guitar.
Great to encounter these guitar icons on stage together...

Thanks so much for this,

It's.. just from those days...!
Thanks again!
What can you say? Two masters at work.
It's interesting to see Chet taking a close look at Jordan's technique.
What's all the hubub about? Stanley's notes at 3:02 were purposeful accidentals that fit perfectly. Like seriously, you can't diss Stanley. He frickin plays the guitar like a piano. Chet, as always, was simply magnificent.
We're not worthy! We're not worthy!
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 74yo Aussie fan.
So cool.
Oh my heart..
Tony Motolla does THE best guitar version of Stardust. Still, Chet (my all-time fave picker) and Stanley are mighty fine here.
La música entre pocos tiene como mas esencia que entre muchos.
Chet!! I love you!!! You are the best! Always Remember
... yes, because in the end we are all stardust, after all ...
amzing video
@jmichaelm0 The great thig about Chet was that he never thought he knew it all. He always appreciated new talent and encouraged it to shine .
Lovely. Thanks very much.

FOR EVER CHET AKINS WITH MY FAVORITE SONG STARDUST
Lovely
I wish this could have been performed and recorded while Hoagy Carmichael, an idol of mine, and an Indiana favorite son, was still alive. I'm sure he would have loved this treatment of his great song by these two virtuoso artists.

Good Job Sir.....

I was just thinking how awesome it would be if these two played together, then I saw the thumbnail for this video...
Beautiful...
Проникновенное исполнение и деликатная манера.
we all love you, Chet!!!
God bless, Paul Yandell, playing behind.
Is that the keyboard player? Because despite the amazing guitarists, he really stands out.
I like the way Chet's looking at Stanley, like "how do you do that ???".
