My common sense is tingling, and it says that I don't think Nintendo intended melee and ultimate to be entirely for casual people, but rather more to the people you call no-lifers.
Understandable but the fact still is that smash was never made for the competitive *fighting game* crowd because if it was it would be similar to mortal kombat blazblue and street fighter yet isnt. It's mearly a party game that doesnt intend the player to throw the controller when you lose. Then again its the fans that make it competitive so who knows maybe if we ever get a new smash in the future(doubtful but who knows)it'll be more fighting genre oriented. That would be interesting.
I'm not a fan of the competetive smash fanbase either but people who go round calling things "cancer" are the most toxic people I see on the internet. I have many fond memories of brawl as a teenager. It's my favorite smash game due to sentimental value. I spent hours duking it out with my friends and it was a blast. I love all the smash games and they just keep getting better with every release.
