The whole “comeback to the character later” thing I have experienced. I’ve never played competitive or anything, but I would always play as Kirby anytime I played smash bros but would only ever used specials, no normal, aerial, or smash. Then one day, after seeing a captain falcon in action, I decided to play him so I could win more often. Because captain falcon’s specials were so hard to hit, I began making use of everything else that he had, and when I eventually returned to Kirby I found myself doing a lot better by not relying on his specials

Dude, I only discovered you a couple months ago and your editing has gotten DRAMTICALLY better in that short amount of time. Soon you're gonna be a staple of Smash content creation, I'm calling it right now.
I think another thing that should be considered is how mixup heavy Luigi is as a character and how that allows you to play more freeform and carefree in a way. I main Sheik but it almost feels hard to play her in a fun/ carefree way sometimes. You have to be really disciplined with her in neutral because of things like cc and what not but Luigi is so slippery and slidy and he doesn't get punished as much at lower percents that I think it's easier to be goofy and have fun with him. Other characters I think that can be synergistic with goofy gameplay are Peach, The Mario's, Dk, Pikachu, yoshi, and game and watch. All of these characters kinda have a goofy aesthetic and I think playing goofy with them kinda tilts the other players. Whereas Sheik doesn't have many ways to be goofy( Marth is kinda similar here) and I find I play the best when I play logical and almost cold hearted.
I really hope we have a Mario main who makes waves like Amsa or Axe. Mario is one of the best feeling characters in the game. SD Remix Mario is probably my favorite next to young link.
@@beardalaxy I just prefer regular mario as he feels lighter, F smash has a larger hit box, Fair spikes, and he can wall jump or do the up b wall jump.
I really feel like you're hitting a stride with your content lately. The historical accuracy is really appreciated when telling these stories, and (I assume at least) you do a good job of making them entertaining to newer players. Also I'm never gonna get sick of those excellent BGM choices either.

1:48 was there ever an explanation for how Abate survived that Dair? Looks like the game literally glitched out in his favor in a game 5 last hit situation
Invisible Ceiling Glitch (ICG) happens when any character hits someone's shield and starts sliding back, and it's during this slideback that ICG is active. When ICG state is active, all vertical knockback that you receive is set to 0. Furthermore, ICG state can be stored if you were sliding left after hitting a shield, and then you become airborne before the slideback finished (regardless if it's from jumping or from being hit into the air). This left-sliding ICG state ends if one of the following happens: you land and let the recoil continue wearing off, you grab someone, you get grabbed, or you grab ledge. If you were sliding right, the ICG state still continues to wear off even if you're in the air at the same rate you would have if you remained on the ground, so it's not possible to store ICG when sliding right. Characters with low traction (like Luigi) have a much easier time getting ICG state active. In the infamous Abate vs S2J match, Luigi downsmashed Falcon's shield, then got knee'd while he was still sliding to the left after hitting the shield. This knee hit when ICG state was active, so Luigi got sent at an awkward horizontal angle off stage because under ICG, there's no vertical knockback and only the horizontal knockback happened. Because the initial slide was to the left, ICG continued to be stored while Luigi was in the air off stage, so the following stomp that Falcon attempted was also under ICG. Both of those hits had 0 vertical knockback because of ICG, though with the stomp it was much more noticeable.
Watching this video and realizing ho versatile Plup actually is as a player, he honestly feels the most like a modern reincarnation of Isai. His ability to play so many different characters at a top level when most stick to one or two is incredibly impressive, and it really makes me respect Plup a lot.

Luigi is still a character I believe that is on the same level as Yoshi, they just need that god gamer to pick them up. Sure Marth and Falco are really hard but I don't see either as THAT bad. I do kind of have the wish that Melee is alive long enough that a Luigi, DK, and Samus can all have their time in the sun but we will just have to see if that is possible
Not playing a game seriously is got to be the best thing for a fighting game, especially if you're pretty good at it. Every single time people talk about this run they just do not give enough credit to other Luigis. Taking a game off of M2K is cool and all, but it's something Abate had done vs. the Sheik and Blea Gelo had done vs. the Marth. Speaking of Blea Gelo, he even took 2 sets vs. Druggedfox to win a local somewhere in the south (Georgia or Florida I suppose) over him around the same time as CEO Dreamland. Oh and Swedish Delight? A few months after Plup failed to beat Swedish at CEO Dreamland, Abate beat Swedish in round 2 pools at Genesis to make top 64 winner's side. Furthermore, the greatest single set win in Luigi history until after this video was made goes to Abate at RoM7 in 2014, who beat peak Captain Falcon Hax, the 6th best player in the world at the time. (Since this video was made, Eddy Mexico beat Mango in a reverse 3-0 at Smash Factor). But most importantly, Abate's TBH5 run is always so underrated. As a warmup, Abate beat 60th ranked Kira 2-0. Then Abate beat Axe 2-0. Axe has not only lost to another Luigi before or since, but he was ranked 7th in the world in 2014, and only dropped to 9th in 2015. He followed it up by beating S2J, the 16th best player in the world in 2015. Although he couldn't get it done vs. one of the 5 gods in Mango, he dropped to loser's to face yet another top 25 player in Duck, and beat him in a crushing 3-1. The only reason he ended his run at 7th rather than 5th was that TBH5 was just that much bigger and more stacked of a tournament than CEO Dreamland. Abate's TBH5 run is clearly the greatest Luigi run of all time.
