Just got fit and purchased the driver. I have never owned anything but a Ping before. This range of clubs is pretty forgiving and produces really good numbers for me. The fitting process really opens your eyes to the options that are out there. Enjoying the videos. Thanks.
Loved this club and the XR hybrids. Great feeling off the face even on mishits, and am getting more distance. Also the face shape allows for hitting off the deck much easier than my current nike covert 3 wood. Thanks Mark!

I have tried many different 3 woods, but Callaway XR 3 wood just killed it! its so forgiving and easy to hit on all condition! distance I am also happy with avg 230meters + and also great to shaping shots. Try it out guys it should be cheap now since its last years model.
Great review, thanks for posting! Just picked this up and put one out in the fairway at 276 yards off the tee on the first day. Think the XR 3 wood might have just retired my trusty driver.
I've hit this club a lot and i feel that it is very long, the head re-design along with the longer and lighter Project X LZ shaft make this club in my opinion the longest fairway of 2015.
@alan moore Cutting the tip side of a shaft does make it stiffer. Cutting the other end does not make it stiffer, but it does make it shorter and a little lighter.
Great review, Mark. Could we maybe see a side by side between this and the X2Hot, or the Xr Pro and the X2Hot Pro, which I recall you being rather high on during your trip to America last year? Also, any chance of doing a 4-wood versus 3-wood comparison, maybe where the intersection of launch and spin might be better for different swing speed players to benefit from going with more lofted woods, especially off the deck? Bought the club today and hitting it super!! Yes it has a low spin rate it rolls on at least 25 yards! Great club. Cheers mark

X hot pro has been in my bag since 2013 but may change to xr pro this year!! Looks nice.

so if the club is cut down, does it affect the shaft flex? and would that matter to a mid-handicapper?

Has anyone else had issues with the length of XR driver/3 wood shaft? Recently fitted and bought XR irons and love them.
terry bates Didn't mind the length (43.5) but going to buy the 42.5 shortened version for more control and better gapping between clubs.
Are they doing a "deep" version this year?
yes they put out the XR, XR pro and XR Deep as of 02/20 in the US
