@@brewingadviceJust setting it up now. The only really unfortunate thing is the pill came without one of those battery protectors that you need to remove. As such the battery is beyond flat. It's taking a million years to even take a charge. As soon as I try and calibrate it it's already run out of batteries it seems.

It sounds like you have not got a new device. The fact that there was no battery plastic protector on it and it won't hold a charge. The best thing to do is to leave it to charger for 24 hours. Once done, remove it from charge and leave it for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and connect to it to see what the battery level is. If it doesn't show 100% charge, contact the shop that you bought it from. If it does, leave it for 24 hours, then check again to see the battery level. If it is lower than 90%, contact the shop. It is possible that you have a returned defective unit and they sent it to you by mistake.

Hopefully they will come to the US soon. It is taking a while, but KegLand are getting to more and more countries. You could try AliExpress as you can buy direct from KegLand through them. I bought my replacement coloured lids, spare base and gaskets from AliExpress and the KegLand store.

I just bought a pill and charger over the last couple of days, registered the device set the settings, placed in the fermenter, nothing, took out the fermenter, set it on the base to check everything, everything ok, put back in the fermenter got the first reading, then nothing?? Driving me nuts, any solutions you can think of?

I am sorry to hear you are having issues. Both my Pills and Temp Controllers have worked perfectly for me without issue. I am a member of the official 'Owners' club on Facebook, and do see from time to time people like you who get issues. Sadly there is no one fix for everything. I would recommend (if you are on Facebook) doing a search for the 'RAPT Users Group' and then join it. It was created by KegLand themselves.

Hi we recently discussed using the temperature controller to control the mash in a biab system. With a full pot of water set to 65c for one hour. I have used this temp controller recently and an alarm rang and I noticed a bell logo come up too as well as a warning from my rapt app that the controller was going over temperature. Do you think there is a problem with my controller or is it not effective for controlling the temperature of the mash at 65c? Any thoughts? Cheers

To be honest I don't know. Every temperature sensor has a minimum and maximum. I would be very surprised if KegLand used a temperature sensor that can't go over 65C. It might be a good idea to drop them an email to see if this is expected behaviour.

So if I use this on a heat element that I want to stay constantly hot not to switch on and off when it reaches the temperature but just holds it at a particular temperature with constant power would this device do that

      Hi @tedbullpit6164,
Sadly no, this will not do that. It will send electricity to the heat socket when the temperature is low, but it will turn off the power once it reaches temperature. You could set the heat differential to 0.1C so that it doesn't switch of off for too long, but it will still turn it off for a few seconds to a few hours. The time it will be turned off for depends on many factors.
