RUM PUNCH
1.25 oz/37.5 Light Rum
1.25 oz/37.5 Dark Rum
2 oz/60 ml Pineapple Juice
1 oz/30 ml Orange Juice
.25 oz/7.5 ml Lime Juice
.25 oz/7.5 ml Grenadine
Method
1. Add all ingredients to a shaker tin.
2. Shake with Ice for 10-15 seconds.
3. Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.
7. Garnish with a lime wedge and maraschino cherry.

Love making rum punch on hot summer days! We actually have a small 'puncheon' barrel where many people think the name probably originated from, when sailors would add their rations of rum, juices and sugars together for the communal drink

I make something similar at home sometimes, but leave out the grenadine and add either passion fruit juice or syrup and less pineapple juice.
That sounds like a good variation.

I actually used Elderflower syrop instead of grenadine, it is more of a yellow ish color but that flower flavor that comes trough just makes it more of a breeze on the beach :D

I know I'm a bit obsessed with milk clarification but rum punches in particular make great milk punch.

Rum , lime and pineapple 🍍 juice are like match made in heaven.... love this cocktail.. very well balanced 👌👍.. looking forward to try this very soon .... couple if questions, the dark rum u used was it dark or gold ?? Coz it seems like golden in colour ... second question the grenadine made using the orange flower oil , for how long that can be used and also if made with orange liqueur .
Thank you very much. It is a dark rum however some dark rums are much darker ie Captain Morgan. And for grenadine made with Orange oil it would be good for about two week. However if you want it to last longer put .5oz/15 ml vodka into it that will give you a good month.

Homemade grenadine sounds excellent. The bottled stuff tastes kind of like chemicals.
Its definitely worth making your own.
Question: I want to make this in bulk, how would I go about ensuring it was mixed as I wouldn't be able to shake such volumes of liquid?
Depending on the amount you are making. You could use a blender. Or a wide mouth large water bottle.
