Actually, the reason issues exist is due to lack of education. The lower class focuses on issues. So basically lil wayne is educated. To him racism is just a form of competitive spirit. As james brown said.

As a black man I love hearing this… I have NEVER ever dealt with Racism IN MY LIFE! Some of the closest friends/brothers I have in this life and the next are white… and you couldn’t tell any of us that we aren’t family. I have never been treated differently by any of their family members if anything they have treated me as one of their own. I’ve been privileged enough to go to private schools and colleges and I can tell you my blackness has never precluded me from doing ANYTHING that I put my mind too! Blaming racism is so much easier than blaming yourself for being unable to have a vision and chase it. All love! And I hope all that read this have a blessed day!

I don't know about everyone else but I love Wayne's answer. For the new millennials like myself I am 26 white guy I grew up listening to rap and never thought once about racism, unfortunately some of us were born into this racist world. I do look back at the 60s and before and see the segregation and it makes me sick like how could this shit even happen? But it gives me a migraine even seeing some comments on the internet I believe the worse comes out of SOME people on the internet that's why I don't even look at the comments anymore cause some of it makes me sick. But in terms of REAL LIFE experience, shit I live near Detroit and I've never experienced racism myself first hand. But I know for sure it still exists. But honestly if it's someone younger like me, that was taught from an earlier generation.

@cahK It doesn't but it does at the same time. My take on this is, for Wayne to act like it isn't going on is f up. Wayne (like most of rappers), don't want to pick a side because he doesn't want to lose fans here and there. But, staying quiet is still selling out. That's a sell out move. But, he been sold out a long time ago. Like most do when they get up in fame. "They" tell'em to rap and make your money, BUT keep you mouth shut!" So, silence tells it all. That's why they hate Kaepernick and that's why I respect Lebron. Because he's not going to shut up and just dribble. When are y'all going to wake up? But, yet, the fact that you praise Wayne because he don't speak out and keep his mouth shut is ridiculous.

Lil Wayne never said that racism isn't a thing. He said it obviously was. He said that racism wasn't a thing FOR HIM. He hasn't experienced it, and that's not the same as denying it exists. He doesn't have those issues, so don't ask him about it. THAT'S what he said.

Of course racism exists. The same way that murders happen, or crimes will be committed. There's a big difference between understanding what's a general trend in society and what's abnormal, and Wayne understands that - racism is not "normal", it's a crime, just as any other crime in society, and it's not practiced in any way by normal people, irregardless of race, gender or social class. I've never listened to his music, but he sure has my full respect for being honest, truthful and intelligent in these mad days.

Henkan agree with you totally. I think we can all agree the crime of racism is a crime and morally it’s just flat out wrong. But I personally can’t see racism ever totally going away. I think they’ll always have a small minority of all races that will be racist. It goes for white people and black people, as well as all the other races. The fact that some people believe that racism is only a white person problem is just wrong. Anyone has the ability to be ignorant.

This man is as real as real gets and that’s all I need to say. Rap isn’t really my thing but I’ve always listened to his and enjoyed it. I respect Lil Wayne for his actions and his beliefs. Even after all his blessings he still has a very clear belief system and will not be taken from his path. Love this guy!
