I'm going over all of the years the G35 was made and the differences between the years. In this video I show you how to spot the differences between the years and models without touching the car!
07 has a brushed aluminum center console the rest have fake aluminum plastic.
2007 has a Hr engine rpm red starts at 7500
The 05 manual g35 has a rev up as well you trippin..

Gauge cluster from early years to 06+ swapped the coolant and fuel gauges. If you have a true SPORT 6MT the stitching on the steering wheel is Orange.
The button on the tail light to open the trunk are only on the 05-07 and not on the 03-04
GE FTV ... I did forget that one. But I believe the button is only on the 06-07 if I'm not mistaken? The 05 has the old style tail lights without the button I think. Good catch! 👍🏽
I believe the button is part of the premium package...
I have an 03 with Navigation idk if that counts as premium and I don't have that button and my friend has a 05 but it's not premium and he does have the button

GE FTV No thats wrong i have an 05 and there definitely is no button to open the trunk.

clarification regarding the 05 6MT. 05 models get all the interior and mechanical updates of the 06+, minus Bluetooth deck. so if you like the look of the early model with the ironing board spoiler, but want the revup and aluminum interior bits, go 05.
You can also tell the sport vs regular suspension by the pedals. Non sport will have plain black pedals and sport will have the aluminum with the holes in it

@@Desi-Diary I'm from Ontario aswell, I actually have a 17' 370z now instead of the revup G, but same situation just a lil bit of wheel spin from starts but once your going your good🤙🏼 might have to modify your routes a little bit though and avoid steep streets you'll have to potentially stop on

Correction. The viscous limited slip differential started in 2004 and only came on sport package vehicles. So 04 and 05 vehicles with the sport package had the limited slip differential not just 06-07

I just bought my first G35 ever (04 Coupe) a week ago and the only thing I don't like is the interior. I really don't know if there's a base model version and all that stuff so I don't know if I bought a lower tier model or if the color of mine is just ugly. PS: (
Mine's an Automatic unfortunately but for the price I got it at, it was a steal so I had to lol) I do think that the newer G35's like yours look better. If I ever buy another G35 I'm going to definitely be getting an 06-07.

05-07 also come with new key fobs & fobs w/ different features. The 03-04 have an old key fob that only did the basics, and were also all not keyless lol. 05-07 were keyless UNLESS it was a 6 mt, lol. But other than that man fantastic job! I just sold my 04' 5AT G35 coupe & I'm hopping into an 06' 6MT soon!
Why did you do that with your license plate? The asymmetry of putting the license plate to the side always bugs me personally. There isn't a towing hook over which is why a lot of cars put them over there but you drilled yours to the bumper. Do you just like the look or is there something I'm missing?
freakinsweetdude ... it stops water from getting to my intake. Blocks puddles from slashing it and hydrolocking my engine. Been through plenty of rainstorms and puddles and the intake filter NEVER even got wet!!! That's why it's there. Also, I don't like this front end and I plan on replacing it, so I didn't mind drilling it.

I have orange turn signals in my 07 headlights
also, i had the front end replaced after a wreck, and I KNEW my front bumper looked different... turns out they put the wrong bumper on my 07, then refused to fix it, saying they all have the same bumper.... assholes
Mike Gomillion ... are your headlights projectors? If not, they gave you the wrong headlights too
yes, only 1 headlight was replaced.... which pissed me off because the new one has a different cut-off line than the left side factory one
They are... i was mistaken... they are clear lenses, but the light is amber

Literally look at the tail lights 04 and 03 have big o reverse light 05 and above don’t

I think the 06-07 coupes featured the rear active steer along with VLS
MrGta46 ... correct. Some have the active starting, not all though.
Is VLS the same as VDC? Mines a 2006 coupe, auto w/ tiptronic, has rev-up engine, & various other things I've learned about on UA-cam.
@Zigarren König mine does, I’m pretty sure nothings been swapped out.
@Zigarren König because it says so in the manual, & it revs up on starting & shifting gears.
I have a G35x 07 and it looks like the updated G37 exterior and interior wise besides the engines. The only thing I notice exterior wise is it seems a little chunkier than the 08 models... I know you were mainly talking about the coupe though.
Hey i have a 07 35x sedan.i have a question...have you installed a cold air intake on yours...if so could you tell a difference in performance or is it not worth the money?

Nice ride, Steve. Mine is an 05 6MT with every factory option available (19" wheels, 009 trans, RevUp, sunroof, etc.). Picked it up 6 months ago with 66k original miles. Cost me 10k but for a 15 yo car with 66k miles? Well worth it :)

anyone know if any of the interior stuff is compatible to the 03s after the interior refresh of 05? To clarify, can i do a direct swap of the interior from an 05+ car to my 03, manual coupe to manual coupe?
DaBlueG35Owner ... I believe wiring is a little different. Not impossible though. Idk if it would be worthy the money or time though.
Their are some parts that will work but they did change colors a bit and trim finishes. The colors look the same in photos but are very different in person....ie, door panels, console etc...

george nino ... no. The biggest disappointment for the 07 coupe for sure was the DE engine being put back in the coupe.
That's weird since they put the new motor at the time in the sedan and not the coupe. I prefer the look of the g35 coupe to the g37 coupe but the motor is one thing leaning me towards the 37

You shouldve put pictures or the 03-04 to compare to the 05-07. Cause not everyone knows how the 03-04 look. Ive had both generations if you want to say that lol. I had 2003 g35 coupe manual with brembos and now i have a 2006 coupe manual.
There is also different buttons on the seats of the 05-07 that the 03-04 didnt have

On the 03-04 did come with small cubbies & 12v outlets on both sides . I got a 04 and both outlets come in handy one charges the iPhone and other charges my GoPro camera. Plus these another outlet in the center armrest console .
Are fenders, radiator core support, hood, and headlights, interchangeable between 03 and 06? I'm thinking about buying a 06 with some front end damage and I found someone that has an 03 with a blown motor so I was thinking about buying it and using it as a donor car. Any thoughts?
Keyless entry option I believe on the 06-07...intelligent key with button on door handle. I think it was just for automatics, not 100% sure.

I have an 03 Coupe, and it does have the 12V charger and cubbyhole on the passenger side, which is great, actually. It doesn't have memory buttons for the electric seats, so when you move the seat back forward, the seat moves foward, then moves back when you move the seat back to the erect position. But you have to manually adjust the seat back rake whenever you move the seat forward, which sucks.

U need change out the differ oil ? Mines is automatic
Differential fluid is the same whether is Auto or manual. Trans fluid would be different. But the diff fluid is for the differential on the car. I like to change every 60-70 K miles
Mines a 2006 & the accents inside are rosewood (I think), not the brushed aluminum.
I have an 2004.
There are 3 outlets...the one on the passenger.....the one on the driver's side, and one inside the middle compartment, where you rest your arm on.top when closed.
With the 2004 coupe, leather trim.
Stock came with 17in rims
225R50 upFront and 235R5017 rear.
Also I have Automatic Rwd and 6 spoke wheels...but a 2004 for sure.
Besides being brembos, are the rotors and pads larger?
Rotors are bigger on the 05-07 sport package without brembos

I have 04 MT with the gold brembo. those calipers make the car look more sexy. I never see any on the road except for mine obviously. maybe they are more rare

All 6MT coupes came with a VLSD starting in 04. The 5AT got it in the performance suspension package in 05

08 they redesigned the g35 and it has the vq35hr motor

cluster is a key thing too! 03-04 have like a dull look to them while 05-07 have more of a sporty and modern look to the cluster. either way you mainly spotted all the differences, nice video !
