This is such a great video - I love seeing you two together talking about the program. I know that friends back home just don’t get it and aren’t really that interested in what you’ve been up to but you can tell me your stories of your summer over and over again and I’ll never get bored of hearing them..... xx
I am an older PC at 57 and I am having a poor experience with my roommates and others. They walk around with ear buds and don't know how to communicate. You feel as if you are interfering in their lives when you speak to them just to say hello. They have to pull the buds out and ask you what you said. It's just annoying. Even in the room their are not interested in getting to know me or my reasons for being there so late in life. Zero communication between themselves and other roommates too. Been a very difficult process for me. I do just want to go home to my husband and my animals. I am a teacher and took time off to experience this and create a better resume. In my opinion it is eye opening. The four keys that we work and live by include courtesy. Girls you did a good job on this video, but I just wish these CP's were a little more courteous and helpful.
Hi Linda. Can I ask how you got into the program? I'm in my 40s, from Australia, working as a paediatric nurse (so I've finished my uni degree plus post graduate). Is there a way around this? All I can see online is that you need to have finished first year of studies but not completed. When I was at MK last October I was talking to a cast member from New Zealand but because it was busy in the store, I didn't get to talk to her and ask questions. Any info would be highly appreciated.
Chalron Bjork you need to be enrolled in at least one college course to apply for the regular (american) CP; not sure how it works with the international program, probably similar rules.
Found out last week I'll be heading out there next summer for the DCEP, I'm in quick service and I'm so excited. I know it will be tough but it's a once in a lifetime opportunity and a dream I've had since a little girl and I know each moment, whether happy, frustrated or sad will be amazing when I look back :)
So it depends on if you are Disneyland or Disney World DCP because you can not get a way with clocking in and out right after each other in Disneyland. you have to have a 10 hour turn around. and in Disneyland DCP have 3 year seniority other most people, they get full 8 hours most tend to work closing but still get really good shifts and what they want to. ps most things you said are true for any cast memeber. Also I try to get to know my CP because they are a new friend even if they even in 4 or 6 months from when I meet them. Also I am disneyland cast
Samantha WDW has an 8 hour turnaround but you can get split shifts somehow/work doubles! I know every fulltimer is different as well - thanks for having that attitude towards CPs! ☺️
Iam a Dcp alum Florida is not allowed to schedule less then 10 hrs between shift including travel time granted you could get off at 10pm but could not come back in before 6am unless u asked for it and required mgr approval but u did get the shifts that regular employees did not want. I actually worked for Disney 3 yrs after my program ended as well
I always try to be extra nice to DCP cast members. I know it’s not always easy for them but I find they often have much better attitudes than full time cast members.
Sweet video. Sounds like above all, DCP is a fantastic life lesson. What a great experience for a young person to get a serious jump start on preparing for the rest of your life.
Lauren Cowan you can do a different type of DCP called the cultural exchange program which is for 3 months in the summer if you go to a U.K. university like us :)
They can call it a "college program" but when you learn about it , it's about the same as working like a slave on a cruise ship . Just wait , if they don't hurry up and start paying livable wages pretty soon the parks are all going to be staffed with employees from the Phillipines just like the last cruise you went on was . Go on a vacation to Orlando Florida ? Hell No !

Keith Thompson definitely agree with that! Thanks for watching ☺️
Merida❤️
I saw online that you have to be enrolled at a college in the USA to be able to do DCP, were you or can you do it from a UK university?x
Lauren Cowan you can do a different type of DCP called the cultural exchange program which is for 3 months in the summer if you go to a U.K. university like us :)
Thank you so much!!
Awesome video as always! Lana sounds a lot like Merida, and you sound a lot like Hermoine from Harry Potter! Love it! 😊
Ahh that's so awesome!! I don't think my accent is quite as nice sounding as Emma's but thank you anyway!
how did u do dip when you live in the uk? xx
It’s a U.K. version called the cultural exchange program :)
Emily’s Wanderland ok ty 😁
Did you ever have to work at the UK pavilion simply BC you're British?
No that's actually a separate program called the Cultural Representative Program and all those cast members are there for a year :)
I miss you both ❤️
Sarah McKnight you too!! Should be back in Scotland in the new year I hope so we can catch up together then ☺️
How can I date Lana?!!!
She’s engaged
@@emilyswanderland Darn it!

You two are too funny! Lol
Kevin Myers aha thanks I’m glad you think so!!
Disney should pay the workers better and give health care; the magic would be harder to loose. Ugh American capitalism; I’m American
Definitely think they should be paid better and be covered for sick pay!
“When your standing in 40° heat with no shade”
*Confused*
Celsius 😂
Chip Blackwood I can’t believe I actually forgot that, wow XD
Ahaha yeah we always get confused when Americans complain about it being cold when they say it’s 30 degrees 😂
