15& has always been giving me a Davichi vibe, fr. Like Yerin is obviously the better belter/mixer (like Haeri), but Jamie is the all-rounder (competent lows and belting, and great headvoice) just like Minkyung. Overall, a powerful vocal duo. Also, props to Yerin’s agility!
I'll put the remarks here so everyone won't get confused xD - The ranking is listed in descending order. The particular Tiers are as follow: 1. Dia 2. Uji, Yerin, Wendy 3. Jamie, Solar 4. Wheein, Yuju 5. Seunghee, Haena - Minimum 7 perfs for each vocalist - The list took in consideration their career "average skill set" rather than just their peak or current level. - Ones with more balanced mix are rated slightly higher than pure chest dominant mixer (supposedly on par with each other in terms of support and resonance). - The notes shown are either supported or resonant.
Dia is stronger than Wendy? Dia support range is A3-D5/Eb5 right? I though you said that a vocalist should be able to support G3 or lower to be considered competent? Is it because she has Eb5?
@Hexa Wira No I said it specifically for Yechan’s case because she doesn’t necessarily has any other asset aside from her mix. Meanwhile Dia has a head voice that’s resonant up to Bb5.
@@ReggieVu oh yeah, i kinda forgot that she has a supported head voice. Anyway, what do you think about rosé gone performance at sea of hope? I feel like her voice become weaker and thinner, i kinda worried
I don’t exactly remember names of those songs but she sounded fine to me, supported up to Bb4 with a slightly stronger tone production albeit an underwhelming low. Even some of her B4s were not bad.
Yes Dia i love her, that B4 always has me shocked!!! Uji just has this power in her voice i haven’t heard in kpop, her D5’s always sound so clear and always have sooo much honey crisp to them
@@ReggieVu ikrrr!! They would have 4 vocalists out of the 6 who could all support! And they would have 2 above average vocalists and 2 average!!! Like the power that would be!!!

"KPOP idols that opens their mouth as big as they can"(please make a video about this one). I always hear Tara from Tara Simons studios saying that you should own your mouth as big as you can. I do have a question, is Wheein the better belter between her and Solar? I heard from Sam Bradley that Solar is the better belter
Sorry I just saw your comment TT Well generally having a big aperture (including a dropped jaw and lifted soft palate, relaxed tongue,..) would contribute in eliminating nasality, tension and creating space for forward projection. Yeah Solar is a better belter, both in terms of support and resonance consistency.
It’s good to allow the jaw to drop as far as it naturally can, but forcing it open farther than that can create jaw tension and cause problems with focusing resonance in certain registers.
Has Wendy always been a better belter than Solar and Yuju or is it because her recent consistency in resonance around Bb4~C5? I know Wendy always supports higher but I always think her lack of resonance as a major drawback(?)
Hey!!! I wanna ask another question...it's mostly about my vocals and I want to make the comment section 69 *Is it a better move if I train my head voice? I can go up to E5 without hurting my voice *How do I know if k actually Support? *What is vocal fatigue? Sometimes...after I belt or just sing my throat hurts...and sometimes I feel like getting dizzy and my eyesight becomes blurry after singing
1. It depends on what type of singing you're aiming at. Like operatic requires more head voice and contemporary singing requires more chest and mix etc,.. But developing breath support is the most essential aspect. 2. I think it's best to show you're singing to someone who knows about suppport and stuffs. 3. It generally means your voice being tired (due to oversing, dehydration, vocal strains,..)
it's still makes me sad that yuju doesn't support C5 consistent anymore like back in her debut days edit: her voice now sounds alot better than her 2018-2020 era
I'd say she has shown some vocal habits that are affecting her skillset. I'm not entirely sure if it's a stylistic choice but since she made the switch in performing style, she's has become more nasal, straining on notes that she used to slay and head voice seems to weaken too. From resonating C#5 super consistently to straining B4 here and there. The difference is quite significant.
@@drew-df5vg I haven't heard particular regression signs on her Low, but her head voice got worsen, to say the least. I'll copy a brieft performance analysis from my friends: "ua-cam.com/video/EYZ3OT47WNc/v-deo.html Monster by Red Velvet - Jamie cover 0:25, 0:29 supported A3 0:45 nasal A4 (oh no no no) 0:45, 0:53 pushed B4 1:36 pushed B4 with slight tension, 2:26 B4 supported but could have been better D5 -E5- G5 right after was very strained. So her mix is still oke up to B4 but she was a little too pushy. 2:29 E5 - G5 unsupported, weakly connected head voice with slight airiness. ua-cam.com/video/rhmGtFOKjsk/v-deo.html Compare it with these nicely supported E5 - G5 and the difference is VERY apparent."
@@drew-df5vg okay now I’ve listened to her Young Hae live this year, it seems that she could still maintain a fine head voice placement with support. So perhaps it is only her mix that has taken a considerable dip in support quality.
yeh this list I like a resume of average mix wise for each. Her resonance before was better than Wheein and Solar? Probably around A4 - C5 but she has always had isuses with consistency even in her peak. Solar's a pusher but her resonance has always been huge, like she breaths resonance everytime she sings haha.
@@ReggieVu They're kinda even in mix or Yuju is a bit better, Yuju has a healthier approach before but a bit inconsistent. Solar and the other is pretty consistent up to C#5 but a pusher and a bit chesty. Most of Yuju's C#5 before are supported and half of them are resonant. Yuju's has a bit better mix, again before, she achieved some nice moments above C#5. Yuju's resonance before probably is the best in 3rd Gen.
@@ReggieVu Her volume and resonance is no joke, ha ha. About being a pusher, do you mean she use too much chest connection in her mix? Chesty? She seems to be very consistent to sing with strong mix. Recent examples are her acapella cover of Beliver (her solarsido channel), "I miss you" in Queendom (or in Mamamoo's Killing Voice), or Where Are You know live band version, or Adrendaline (live version in her solarsido channel). In Sam Johnson's reaction to Delilah mentioned that Solar does that in a well-balanced way and hear others argue that it could be equally healthy.
No no as far as I'm aware, she' still more or less the same, supporting around G#3 ~ D5 ~ F#5 with very consistent resonant up to C#5. It's okay for every singer to sound tired every once in a while, especially with someone with hectic schedule like Taeyeon.
