- In this episode of Crime Watch Daily: A mother miraculously survives a brutal attack to lead authorities to the culprit.
A 28 year sentence is an insult to that poor woman. He meant to kill her. The judicial system needs rewiring!
26 prior convictions and all he got was 28 years . What is wrong with our so called justice system ?
Our laws HAVE TO CHANGE. They are written by men. White men who see nothing wrong with this
That's a little misleading he has been to jail that many times that means he could be in jail for probation violation or theft. And 28 years is more then some do with actual murders so I think if that's what he got its a bit much, if guy actually was sentenced to 28 actual years
@@joejacomo5158 He did a plea deal, I think 30 years is max, there's a 48hrs on the case.
Are justice system is broken. it always helps the criminal get off and victimizes the victim all over again.
Life in prison is what he should have gotten!!!
wow her boss drove to her house to make sure she was ok after missing 1 day of work. And they called the police to check on her, that's the coolest group of people, i want to work there. My company has no call , no show. Annnd fired! I am so glad this woman survived.
Same
Love that! My co-worker didnt show up or call a few weeks ago. VERY unlike her. We were all freaked out because I called her home snd cell and got no answer. My Director called HR to perform a wellness check. They were giving it a half an hour before they sent someone to her home. She called finally and had Covid and couldn’t get out of bed to reach her phone.
That’s why we have to respect everyone you work with or the neighbors it could us later when we have a situation like this 🤝
@@kathleenp9643 The way a company should be. Thankful to see there are still around.
Not even one day. They were worried as soon as she didn’t show up. They went to her house Hours later.
Marty lived because of the fast action from her coworker's. Being a no call, no show was totally out of character for her and people responded to this.
There’s something to be said about being a reliable coworker.

I'm a single mum and everyone at my work knows when I don't show up something is wrong and we have that policy for everyone and I love it ❤
Police may not have entered if her door had been locked. Having the unlocked door may have saved her life.
Yes... Yet all good things come from God... Without God's intervention in the bad things... No good things would happen... James 1:17... Try reading the book that God gave us starting with the book of John in the New testament past present future ✝️🙏
He only got 28 years in prison! Unbelievable! NOT ENOUGH!
Should've been at least 50 years!
28 years? He may not have to serve the full 28 years. He’ll still be young enough to commit the same or worse crimes, when he gets out. He can’t be rehabilitated.
Yeah, and out in ten years! This should be an outrage to the whole legal system. And think if he had taken her *****, he would have gotten manslaughter. Victims families need to go to go to the legislators office and make them change the law on these crimes.
There is always a possibility that he may die in there. It happens.
@@mimiaquariusharris6244 He will not be out in ten years. She is going to every parole hearing. He will do at least 20 years.
He should have gotten life in prison
No. The Death penalty.
Complexion protection 😆
I Believe He Should Have Gotten Life in Prison or the Chair after what he did to her. She will have nightmares for a long time.
@@SirNic4180Exactly! The truth!
Amen!!
Officer Norberto "Bert" Ramon lost his battle with colon cancer on June 15 at the age 56.
He lived for another 4 months after they gave him this check, he continued to work up to one week before he died, what a fine example of a human being.
❤
Aww oh no 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Straight to Heaven...
🙏🙏
That’s so sad.My thoughts to his loved ones.
Incredible that the coworkers called!! They saved her life.
God Saved her Life !!!
@@cheryllmyers2627it was God behind the help but really he used those amazing people as well so both ❤
@@cheryllmyers2627 No her co-workers did. There's no evidence of God here.
@cheryllmyers2627
Why didn’t God save the many murder victims out there then?
@cheryllmyers2627
Where was God with the other murder victims?
I hope he’s in prison for the rest of his life. He totally intended to kill her. Never let him out
Only 28 years in prison!! He should have gotten 50 years at least!? 🙄
Yes, because they often get parole eligibility between 30% - 50% of time served.
Death row or Life No Parole ⚖️
How about life?
His wife that gave him alibi needs prison too! Justice system doesn't work! He should get life and his wife that lied should have got 28 years justice system is a joke slap in victims faces!
Her coworker's concern, and immediate action in calling the police 100% saved her life. And really, a strong statement on the value of consistent punctuality.
And her character, she was a valued coworker, a RELIABLE person that was known to let her coworkers know if she would be late or absent
Marti is such a WISE lady to realize that forgiving her attacker is not about him, but is about her own healing. God BLESS this strong lady! She's an inspiration! 🙏❤❤😊
Someone with so many convictions (28) should never be allowed to practice an independent profession. This is a special profession where he visits people's homes. The government is partly responsible for the suffering of this woman and her family!
I agree but what organization has the means (money and staff) to enforce that? How do you monitor millions of people who "should never" be allowed to practice their livelihoods? Stronger convictions are the answer, not sending out more people to monitor someone repeatedly.
@@gointothedogs4634 I'm just shocked they dont have a registry for people who have a repeated history of violence towards others. Kind of like the sex offenders registry. I don't expect somebody to create an organization in order to track these people, but at the very least, it should be wayyyyy easier for the average person (and not just businesses!) to do background checks
Shame on the judge.
I am proud of her co-worker following her gut instinct. We all need to listen to them.
28 years? Not life! Our court system is an embarrassment.
That’s a big sentence in the uk sadly 😢 most murderers in the uk get around 15-20 years
Not always the system but lenient judges. Every chain is only as strong as its sturdiest link.
...and why was he not in prison already?
Very long rap sheet and very serious charges= 28yrs!?!?!?!?! Unbelievable!!
That was bizarre. He didn't even seem to have an explanation as to why he attacked her. What a psycho! He attacked her so viciously completely out of the blue.
He planned it . Pre- meditated murder . He was like Ted Bundy , a psychopath.
She is such a sweet woman, and her beauty was not diminished by her unspeakably horrendous ordeal. My heart goes out to this family.
Her daughter is beautiful inside and out too..
Thank God for Marty's coworkers, the policeman and the officers who interviewed the house repairman, the doctors and nursing staff, and her family. There's a reason why she is alive. She is truly an inspiration, and I wish her God's Blessings for the rest of her life. 💞🙏🇺🇦💙
Officer Ramon is such a humble man. I have a lump in my throat listening to his story. We need more people like him. Too bad it is always the good ones that seem to go first.
🙏💔🌈
So true
I hate being the bearer of bad news but I looked this up about the Officer Officer Norbert Ramon passed away on June 15, 2018 after a brave battle with cancer. PoliceOne mourns the loss of this police hero, who continued to serve the city of Houston until his death with bravery, dedication and love.Jan 2, 2018. He was a 1 of the better ones I wish there was 50 more just like him RIP Officer Ramon😢😔☹️🫡
😢🙏
SO SAD !!
R.I.P. What an incredible human being, and it is so sad, he lost his battle, and left this planet far too soon. 🙏🏻
RIP 💙🖤
What a man to keep on serving & giving to the very end. That's the definition of a true lawman to serve & protect. RIP!
He felt like a loser and instead of self reflection, he took his self hate out on an innocent woman.
I'm so glad the police responded immediately. and not several hours, or days later!
I worked with a woman who had the same kind of good looks as Marty. One of the lawyers commented that she was the cutest girl he had ever seen, then he turned on her and became mean. Secretaries were mystified. He was obviously attracted, but...married, unavailable, he could never have her.
Maybe she didn't care about him thinking she was cute. Males turn on women for 2 reasons. They either can't control them or because they could care less about their interest in them.
He probably made advances and she rejected him
The first story is truly a miracle it just wasn't your time you are a true inspiration..
true friends who cares truly are the ones who saved her,
@@user-dc4ec1zn2dexactly
A true inspiration she is and an angel. God bless her.
She has learned something we ALL NEED to learn, forgiveness is NOT for the offender in crimes like this, it is for the one who was hurt, it helps them move on.
Man, you can tell Marty is a wonderful person. Her boss and co-workers were worried not that she missed work but because it was out of character. Most people wouldn't care about their employees or their superior at work. Also, when the daughter speaks of helping her mom recover, you can see the love, respect, and adoration, like it was an honor to assist in mom's rehab. It's amazing she survived this attack. But I always say in these crime stories I wish more time was dedicated to the victims story than the criminal because these beasts get glorified and no one remembers the victim.
Mrs. Martie is a strong woman. Thank God, she made it through this terrible incident. Twenty-eight (28) years that her attacker got is not enough. The TIME DOES NOT FIT THE CRIME!
Marty what a tough lady. How despicable her attacker was. Seems like he attacked poor Marty for no reason whatsoever. And I hope officer Ramon is resting peacefully. His family I'm sure are very proud of him, he seemed like an amazing human being. ❤ to all those who loved him. From Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
How odd to ask a person if they forgive the monster. How odd to o ask , it’s very insulting right to her face.
No it wasn't! Her answer just proves how absolutely amazing Marti truly is!
It was a weird thing to ask.
In similiar cases, I notice this is asked alot!
Her answer though was spot on. It would only hurt her to not forgive him. God bless her. So beautiful and so strong.
The reason they ask the question is because it doesn’t matter to him if she hates him because he was cruel and heartless . If she does that directly plays a part in her life. It’s perfectly okay to want justice and to make sure he stays where he is at. I can’t speak for her because I haven’t been there but I would want to focus on the positive that I had a guardian angel who sent co-workers to help and with the great medical team family and friends I survived
I miss this show. It was great! And I remember this story. One thing you NEVER, EVER DO….lead (a handy man) someone YOU DON’T KNOW, down the stairs. You send them down and you follow them. I’m SO THANKFUL she survived!
Huh......she did know him. Don't you think that would insult someone that doesn't mean you harm.......or is that OK to do?!? Being that they're just a step and fetch it........
The handyman said he had something to show her that needed fixing, lead on would have been an appropriate choice though I'm not sure it would have changed anything; he was primed for evil, a sick individual
Never be alone with a handyman!! Also best to have some sort of protection in the form of something that has a trigger. You can never totally trust people. Even if the handyman was the one leading the way, a man like him could easily overpower a petite lady at the bottom of the stairs..
That shows there are still good people in this world. My colleagues, would have been mad if I didn't show up, let alone look for me. Officer Ramone is amazing.
This is the most marvelous history of miracle I have heard in my entire life 😭❤️ what a blessed lady ❤️❤️😭
Something similar happened to Lisa Rinna’s mother.
Allison a true story in South Africa!!
Damn I hate when those perps don't even give an explanation for such an inexplicable attack. No apology, no nothing
Because when you are that kind of psychopath you really don't care.
@@poodlegirl55 Still, there are many psychopaths that actually enjoy talking about their sick crimes and motives just for the attention. Refusing to talk at all is something else
So this guy (Brian) will be Free One Day? Y'all cannot be serious!!!
Agree !
The courts are insane !
Tried to kill het for no freaking reason. He's killed before
Not knowing why, would keep me awake at night for the rest of my life.
Thank God that monster is behind bars. You may say justice is served, but that poor lady will never be the same again.
28 years for this - what a disgrace. He should never be released.
28 years???? He choked her, beat her, stabbed her and sliced her throat twice, how is he not on death row or doing a life sentence?!
It's nice to see some reporting on Police Officers that are good instead of the few that are bad.
💙🖤
More than a few.
I woke up one korning n8t feeling like getting up for work so i turned around and kept on sleeping. About 1 o,clock i stepped into work, sat down and carried on working. NOBODY EVEN NOTICED WHEN I WASNT THERE.!😂
Believe me when I say they noticed. That’s a sign to you that you aren’t liked and they were glad you weren’t there. This is how it is for my supervisor. Everyone hates her and loves it when she doesn’t come to work.
Dear Marti, you are an example to many and I'm so glad that you recovered so well. You are an inspiration. Your guardian angel was with you as mine was with me - a fellow survivor.
❤❤❤❤
Seriously though… thank gosh for such CARING AND LOVING, concerned COWORKERS!!! Sometimes these people really are your family, the people you spend the most time with. And it’s a shame that we hate each other at times.
BTW. I think Marty Hill is one of the bravest people I’ve ever heard of!
What an Evil man.
And married to an evil woman who lied for him under oath.
I admire those who are not scared to approach someone, in order to get answers! 😊
Don't let people in your house. The task was done. He had no business in her house. Don't be alone when a stranger has to be in your house.
A friend of mine did that and was attacked by one of the workers. She survived. But NEVER again.
Marti Your A Hero To Many Women.... Sending You Many Blessings And Love 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️
Amazing that she wasn't angry an any point
Simply asking "why".....from beginning to end
Totally senseless crime against a very sweet lady..
His wife needed to do time for LYING and giving a false alibi. T.G his phone and her text asking where he was helped prove his where abouts coupled with the victims account. Alibi provuders NEED to pay for lying too.
I don't understand why anyone believes they need to forgive a horrible person in order to move on. This man does not deserve forgiveness, and it's okay to admit that.
Amazing work that doctors can do.
Marty you are an absolute Warrior!
She is an amazingly strong woman. May God bless her for the rest of her life.
Im so glad the surgeons were able to do a great job at her facial Reconstruction. I hope she is doing better in 2024
Thank you for sharing Marti story.
Such a strong woman & mother who has Angels for coworkers.
Okay this whole episode has me teary eyed and i thought i was desensitized to this stuff by now. 🥺 RIP Officer Ramon.
@joanarc7963 you're right.. That hasn't happened yet somehow..even thru all the true crime and living in Philly..
That's what happens when the justice system doesn't serve any actual justice. Pathetic
such great co workers..
...I feel that the question of whether or not she forgives this killer is a soul intrusion of disrespectfulness upon this act...obviously she's traumatized 💔 forever. How indecent of you 😢
28 years seems so lenient! Some people on drug charges (no violence or murder attempts) get no parole. He can actually get parole in the future. He beat Marty so viciously, it is only by miracle that she survived. He can easily kill again if released.
I hope before his release date the survivor and her family go to court why he shouldn't be let out. Violent people like that dont change and are never remorseful.
She is absolutely the cutest lady love that Marty and God bless her and her family
He should have gotten a LIFE Sentence .
Wow! That is one strong woman! ❤
What an amazing woman with amazing family & friends. May the rest of their days be filled with light, love and laughter.
Her colleagues are amazing
Bless you, Marti, & your family
My co-workers knew that I would never not call in. I ask them if I didn't show up to please call and if no answer please call the police for a wellness check. Something would be wrong. It was a small office and we had worked together for many years
I love the passion and professionalism of Michelle. She is a perfect liason between the viewer and the person being interviewed.
I really recommend watching the 48 hours program called "The Stranger You Know" about Marti's story- it's in depth and incredibly impactful.
It'd be safe to say everyone should do a background check before letting a stranger into your home, for whatever reason. A sherrif friend of mine did a background check on a guy I had started dating yrs ago and discovered his violent past. He'd twice been convicted in family court for domestic violence and abuse and was going by a fake name. He went to church every sunday and claimed to love jesus.
Well I'm sure that claiming to love Jesus is something that alot of folk do. The reality of *knowing someone and who they are at the core starts with you. As there are couples (husband and wife) that have known and lived with each other for decades.....that will do unforgivable things. No-one should need outside assistance when it comes to being privy to a person's true character. In the same light that you can take iniative to have an interest/sexual interest in them. Taking the time to peg their character is also your responsibility.
daaaammmnnn
Mr. Hansen, get with your old producer & team & make new true crime shows on the more recent things happening. I’m sure you would have a large following! ❤
He has a history that put himself where he is
He’s getting too old now. I think he wants to retire and rest
@@TinasCrazyLife does he, or did he piss someone off that he exposed? I always wondered this.
Against my advice, due to major red flags, my mom hired a sketchy handyman. He got into her home and bank account.
I just had a bad feeling due to several unprofessional incidents.
I found his rap sheet in a Facebook group where it was revealed he was violent and had two felony charges currently in court for theft and violence.
The experience caused my mom to leave her house and move into assisted living. She doesn’t tell the truth very well so I suspect she gave him a key to her house.
We fired him and told him to not come back, even though he had $3,500 of her money with very little work to show. He had done a minor demo on her porch and left a huge mess. He was asking for more money after doing $200 worth of work at most.
We are buying the house from her now and haven’t seen hide nor hair of him. I suspect he is in prison again after his 2 trials.
His rap sheet was 3 pages long!
Katy, bar the door!! Change all the locks and add recording cameras. That's what I did, you just can't be too safe nowadays. 😮
This story sends chills down my spine. I'm so relieved to hear the mother survived. Her strength is incredible. I hope justice is served! The attacker needs to be punished accordingly.
What amazing coworkers and first responders! This woman is a BEAST! She has so much to tell other survivors! She has inspired me!!!
I was late for work due to Doctor's appointment and my boss began calling everyone - knowing that I would not just skip work or be late. Back then, there weren't cell phones. My boss didn't relax until I walked in the office and explained that I had an early appointment with Doc that I thought would not cause me to be late for work.
A good reason not to allow unvetted, unlicensed, unbonded independent contractors into your house. Also, everyone needs a surveillance system, and situational awareness. People need to provide themselves with a means of home defense and a strategy to deal with burglars and all other types of home invaders should they gain access to your space.
Yes! I just ordered 3 cameras that doesn’t require a monthly subscription from Amazon . All you need is a micro sd card. It has an app for your phone and can watch what’s going on outside your home, even when you aren’t home. We own 8 acres and when I left home last week, there was a strange woman on our property acting very suspicious. I drove by her and she looked like she was acting nefariously. Stay safe!
@@bbe3034 Assuming your property is posted, the authorities could simply trespass her the first time and arrest her if it continues. The SD card for recording is OK if the camera is out of reach, but the cloud storage is usually cheap for camera apps and it's unaffected by tampering with the camera. Probably installation of a more robust setup with monitoring, door and window sensors, both indoor and outdoor hi-res night vision cameras with motion detection would give you peace of mind. If you're out in the country, the sound of target shooting [with a proper home range setup], along with an unpredictable schedule and lights on timer would seem beneficial.

'Worst crime scene ive ever scene'
Ive heard that expression alot but this is the only time the victim survived..
Marti definitely worked with Angels on this Earth. 😇 She was meant to be working there, and to LIVE AND OVERCOME. What she shares could likely save another single woman’s life. I love her attitude! Thank you Marti, for sharing how you overcame, though talking for 2 minutes about exercising daily for 5 yrs was so briefly hit on. But THANK YOU MOSTLY for sharing how you CHOSE to be a Survivor 💪🏼 instead of a Victim. Going to look for your book, as I’m a 60 yr old and my hubby is 71 and disabled. The biggest thing my then single friend and I had going, was if someone came to her door, even a UPS Man in uniform with packages at 10:30 PM, and says out loud, It’s the UPS man, and I lived 7 minutes away, but I’d have went armed and on phone w 911 if she as much as talked wrong. Close friends is the parallel there!
God bless this man x he’s a hero in more than his duty to the public, but his wife and family and so much more x I’m a retired nurse whom has cared for my mother and father at home until they passed! I’m in awe of this man and his wife for their positive attitude xx please update on them for your viewers that have been touched by them 🇬🇧 xx
so glad Marti survived!!! Brian, how evil, a family man!
In addition to being absolutely astounded that they didn't take any DNA or fingernail clippings I'm really surprised they didn't go look inside that red truck to see if there could have been any transfer of DNA or blood or some of her hair inside that truck.
