- In this episode of Crime Watch Daily: A teen convicted of an unspeakable crime. Did the police get it wrong? Plus, a mother struggles with the notion of justice for the two men who took her son's life.
Her not being allowed to speak to an adult is violating her rights. She should be acquitted as a result of their incompetence.
I'm so angry about Jennifer situation. Those detectives snatched her life away

That part. Even though I feel that she is guilty, cuz. that precise statement that was typed out could NOT have been so exact if made up, and things were weird from the time of the crime to her arrest, the evidence points toward her.
@@hardwired8084how can she be guilty if her alibi was never even attempted to be corroborated? She has two witnesses that put her elsewhere. In 1996, they could pull phone records of that phone number and see who was called. The dna at the scene was proven to not match.
right!
They interrogate a minor without her parent and there's no video or audio recording? That's already suspicious.

They were voice recording and video recordings back then.
Moral of the story even 20 years later is to teach your kids to say, "Call my parents and i need a lawyer." thats the only conversation they need to be having with police.
Her case was mishandled, she deserve a retrial.
Parents should teach their kids this regardless, but let’s be forreal, they should be doing this ESPECIALLY if they are black or a minority, sadly. In fact, people should advise ALL of their family and friends to always ask for an attorney, no matter what.
@Valeria-mq3qn . I hear people say that, but every person must tell their children how to act around police. No matter your race or religion the speech you give your children will be close to the same. Whites are still the vast majority of people being abused by the cops, it is just higher ratio for blacks. Blacks are 12 percent of the population but make 24 percent of people killed by police. Whites make up almost 65 percent, and when you use blacks killed by white cops the ratio goes to 15 percent. You sell over 19 percent of blacks killed by police, the cop doing the killing is black. Almost all Whites killed by police are shot by white cops.
Yesssss,my son is 10 and I tell him everything and anything, that he is going to face in this world . Im not going to wait for his friends to influence him and him not knowing and better. Theres soooo many decisions I made as a teen and young adult that if my mother would have just simply educated me on,I wouldn't have been left to just figure it out. Just listening to what friends say, when you dont know what kind of upbringing they have, what ulterior motives they have,is just a catastrophe waiting to happen for young people. Talk to your little one about everything guys. Dont be afraid!! Because I guarantee you someone else is. And that someone else could be another adult .
Totally. They took my daughter from school behind my back, polygraphed her without my permission and then told her she failed, accusing her of theft. My daughter was traumatized, ran away from home and refused to talk to her former boss for years over that, and the whole thing was made up. She actually passed the polygraph with flying colors. She should never have been interviewed without my knowledge in the first place.
Yes! I teach my children this! My oldest 3 are 27, 25, 23 and it has served them well.
A lawyer in Texas needs to take her case pro-bono!!

People are raised differently.
Maybe you had the advantageous of having parents or others to give you more game as to how to interact with law enforcement & life situations in general.
Not everyone has that. It should be easy to see how a 15 year old undeveloped mind wouldn't recognize the consequences of this.

Eva told her to say she was with her to give her an alibi because she knew she was guilty of the crime.
Her "friends" threw her under the bus. As a child, my parents instilled in me 1 Corinthians 15:33 - do not be misled, bad association spoils useful habits. Thank God 🙏🏾

@@swallowedinthesea11 You should ALWAYS ask for a lawyer. During an investigation, the police are NOT your friends. There are countless cases where people have made false confessions due to being interrogated improperly. A lawyer is there to protect you innocent or not.
I think that if somebody, a detective, tells you "tell us what happened and you can go home", that you are in fact in custody.
I totally agree, because the opposite of that is you can’t go home. How in the world would a 15 yr old know that? Plus Mom called how many times?
I’m not sure I believe all of what she and her family said about what happened. They all have a huge amount of motive to lie and make the police look worse.
She finally told the truth in the 4th statement. People that are innocent of murder don't keep changing their stories..guilty people do.
Yes she didn't know her rights!!!
People who are fed stories by the police also keep changing their stories as police feed them information. Everything about this case stinks. She's held in custody without a parent or lawyer. The interrogation wasn't recorded. They claim she waived her right, but she wasn't old enough to do that. The records are sealed because she was a juvenile, but she was interrogated as an adult, and she was tried as an adult. She couldn't have signed a contract to buy a car or waive her age to get a driver's license, but Texas said she can sign a confession. Even in her statement she didn't stab the woman, some man did but these mysterious men are never charged? The little girl is charged with capital murder and there's no DNA evidence, it all points to someone else? Her lawyer never met her or her family until the day of the trial and no witnesses were called on her behalf. How do you try a 15 year old as an adult, but seal the records cause she's a minor? This is a dirty case from beginning to end and detectives played fast and loose with the rules and the defense lawyer, prosecuter and judge should all have been standing up against this nonsense. Maybe she was part of it, maybe she wasn't, but she was railroaded by the whole system as a kid and that's just not fair. She deserves a new trial at least. There should have been one person, just one actually doing their job and this never would have happened.
This is why you always tell the truth regardless of who says what……
24 year old took advantage of her to get away with murder. Police should have done their due diligence and found out where she actually was during the murder.
and everyone else maybe...

The guy who assisted Gypsy Rose Blanchard is still in jail too even though he had the IQ of a 10 year old. This happens everyday, teach your kids that bad association spoils useful habits. Don’t allow them to run around with someone that can run rings around them intellectually.

I did to my son and his friend when their bus driver assaulted them on the bus on tape and kids filmed it. I told both them don't answer questions without me or his mom present. My son called me from school saying they were interviewing his friend at school I left work left all my stuff where it was and drove to the school and called his mom and the school blamed him and was scolding him and I went off on the officer and told her should be ashamed of herself and the school for not contacting us. Then his mom showed up .
They don't care! My 11 year old son got arrested cause they thought he was a adult cause he was over 6'4 and my baby was only in the 5th grade and was on his way home from school and the police pulled over and told him he look like the suspect they was looking for and will not allow him to call me his dad attorney or anything for 7 hours. I had to take my son's birth certificate to prove how old he was and my baby was set to juvenile during the weekend until I was able to get proof from school that he was in school at the time of the robbery smh. Its they way of not allowing lawyers to see judicial system mistakes with minors by using her age to conceal the file but charged her as adult for the crime. So sad.
I’m gonna be honest. I don’t think the girl is completely innocent. I think she’s involved - but life, when you’re 15-year-old who’s just an accomplice, I think is overkill. On top of that - stuff like this is why my kids were NEVER allowed to spend the night outside my house.
I don't believe kids should be staying over, either.
I totally agree. When u kill somebody u don’t just abruptly do it…..that 15 yo thought she was safe cause she was 15. I wouldn’t say she was involved but she was, she was most def an accomplice. Did she deserve life? No
That judge saw right through her. 😂😂😂 talking about unfair. Being 15 hanging out with adults who kill an innocent bystander no bookie u doing adult activities which in return gets you adult consequences. I was not thinking about killing somebody and taking all their money at 15 that’s just crazy
INJUSTICE!!!! #Free this Innocent young lady!
Jennifer literally lived down the street from me as a kid. Her older sister was one of my best friends in middle school. To see this on my suggestion page is wild.
Wow!!!! do you know why her sister had friends that much older than her at thar age?
@@shan_7714 They didn’t grow up having a lot at all, and the mom worked all the time - she did the best she could do with her kids. She was a really nice woman. 🥺 So there wasn’t always supervision. They would come and go freely. So I can see them hanging out with older individuals, whether it be to get away for company, a place to eat, or perhaps to seek safety - in a sense elsewhere - in the mom’s absence. Just my opinion. But Jennifer was an extremely gorgeous girl in her teens. And perhaps that’s why certain kinds of adults would gravitate towards her. I doubt they ever had good intentions anyways. A terrible situation.
Shes had 20 + years to concoct versions...but her being questioned as a minor is effed. At the very least thats a no no. Idk if I believe she's innocent or guilty but she may deserve a new trial and everything she said with the detectives by herself should be tossed and the olderrrrr friend should be subpoenaed...
Edit to add:
I will say the last story sounds EXACTLY like what could've happened but if it came directly from the fingers of the detectives thats why it sounds like it does. And the whole tactics used of wearing someone down like that are used for that very reason... because it works. I think if ole Mr. Scott guilty Peterson can possibly get a new trial, this woman deserves a second look. Lets not forget lots and lots are locked up and they really are innocent.
I think the story she signed sounds completely made up by a detective. It just has too many details for anyone to volunteer to an officer.
So, was it framed? They said the finger prints weren’t hers. Was she there? Was she convinced of the charges? Where is the real murderer?
I saw and heard my older brother confess to vandalism that he didn't take part in under pressure. The kid who did it was a couple years older. The confessions of a child gotten under duress should be thrown out. I have never confessed to anything I didn't do. My sons were raised never to cave under pressure.
Your sons should be raised to not commit any crimes, or consort with anyone who does 🤡
If this girl had been raised that way, instead of by a degenerate single mother, she’d be free.
If you’re a single Mother and have one kid killed “by violence” and another kid serving a life sentence for murder, youve failed as a Mother.
ThiS is so suspect! She should get a new trial!
I was like ok maybe she wasn't involved but when she ran back to get pen and paper while this lady is full of blood laying dead on floor is NOT making sense. 🤔🤷
So the cops say...
But she didnt. Theres was no evidence no fingerprints, nothing.
It seems she was involved but not the instigator. The paper, pen is ridiculous. Why even be there?
It is good to learn all of the facts. Police did violate her rights.
@@thisplaceiswack2417the suspect admitted to this even years later, you idiot🙄
@@thisplaceiswack2417did you listen to the story...suspect admitted to this even as an adult years later she admitted to going through that poor woman's purse.
Why was she hanging around these grown people at age 15
..you mean why are adults hanging with a 15 year old?
@@kltil5082- No, that is not what they meant. Don't try to shift the goal posts.
She said “I’ve never been on a date” and “I’ve never been in love” 🥲I cried with her. So much has been stolen from her and family. She deserves a second chance.
I think she deserves a new trial because they screwed her
You damn right Jennifer needs a new trial.
They were looking for anybody to pay for the crime, it probably was the older girl that did it
That's what I thought.
She was still there. She’s an accessory nonetheless
Poor "lady"
@@ContrabandTubeyeah but normally you get time off if you confess to who actually murdered the person
Wouldn’t the cops have taken pictures of Bruises and cuts if she had any on her body if she was a bruised and cut up the most definitely would of photographed that period💯
I remember when I first heard of this case. This is crazy. The system is definitely broken. 💔
She definitely deserves a new trial. The sentence is extreme given the lack of DNA evidence, making this decision unjust.
She shouldn't have said she was there if she wasn't she Kno better
15 years old! She should pay with her life for a lie as a teenager!
Right !!! Teenager or not !!!! Who puts their self at a murder that they wasn’t at or had 0 knowledge of !!!! Come on now she was 15 NOT 5
@@Kbrown2018 Maybe read up on the psychology of why people give false confessions instead of acting like this is the first person to do it. Then come back and watch the video again and you'll figure out what the police did wrong.
She was 15 in the 8th grade… she didn’t know better
She needs to be freed.
Asap
Let’s protest this case, its wrong on all levels.she shouldn’t have been questioned without her parents & attorney…she’ll be home momma.🙏🏾😘❤️❤️
These cops are disgusting
Im so glad i was a introvert n did not hang around alot of ppl n at 15yrs old i feel like I was pretty smart with Common sense its like she coming off like she was slow or special ed scale cuz u just let a MF lead u like damn did she think at ALL for herself!!!
She does come off on some kind of spectrum but s
Her demeanor and flat affect is also like a lot of people I have observed with antisocial/sociopathic behavior. I feel that they both have similiar traits demeanor wise so it can be tricky.
At 15 yrs old, they have very little common sense. They may be book smart but common sense stupid. Unless you’ve been raised in the streets!
She lost her her two brothers then was thrown in prison, not sure if anyone would be happy go lucky after that. 🫤
😢
Maybe she does have cognitive issues. You are lucky that you don’t. Have some sympathy smh
