So...I want an Augmentation Evoker in my party at all times. As Prot paladin I averaged 30k more dps than usual in M+(100k+ dps total) on most pulls. It's like having PI, but it is always on 😮 or at least feels like it is always on. So good *chefs kiss*
Aug value depends heavily on what you capture in Temporal Wounds. Different classes have different windows for their best 12 second burst. The three clear front-runners for unbuffed burst damage are: Unholy: ~8.5 million between 12s-24s Demo: ~7 million between 16s-28s Arcane: ~7 million between 6s-18s The optimal timing to hit your Aeons will change depending on your DPS comp. Guilds may choose to delay faster ramp classes CDs so they overlap with slower ramps to maximize value. Napkin math suggests that with enough Aug Evokers, you can probably one-shot current raid bosses if you do everything right.
So far augment is a win in keys. DPS can survive more easily, heals can pump dmg. Keys flow naturally. It’s possible blizzards m+ tuning has been about bringing an augment this whole time in S2. Mystery solved? 🤔 (noticed fresh likes on a 2 month old comment. This comment was referring to how awful healing felt this season. After augment was invited it became a requirement to not only increase group dos but survive keys, then blizzard decided to nerf augment, then key difficulty above a 20, which created IO inflation after many thought they were done. This whole season quickly became a wash. Pretty much a disastrous decision by blizzard to create a new spec and build healing output around this spec. It became a requirement for keys, reducing the chances severely other specs could be invited and quickly favorite burst cooldown. Kind of a tragic season
I noticed in the background footage, you were often doing rank 1 Fire Breath. Is it not good to be maximizing Leaping Flames? Or is it, and that footage was from before stuff got sorted.
Lots of times I was focusing on avoiding overlapping essence particularly on pull. So I would rank 1 it for burst during Eon and worry abt leaping flames only outside of it
Had to make a separate OmniCD profile just for the spec (heal and tank normally) and all I'm tracking are major DPS CD's. See them light up, Breath away.
as a lotro captain(support class through leadership) main i could not stop smiling because it seems like your enjoying being support :) . Anyways the role looks like fun :) and great guide dude. Even though im still learning about the aug evoker so i will just use the lotro captain as a reference to learn about the aug evoker. Would that be ok?
I'd be interested to hear how would you rate the difficulty of playing AugEvoker as part of an M+ team ? Where do the challenges lie for players in getting this right, maybe compared to other classes? I'm kind of worried doing well will heavily depend on how well you understand every other class in the game and the flow of the encounters. PS: That's a whole lotta good, relevant content you've been putting out lately, appreciate it!
Aug feels really easy to min/max in an M+ environment. Just communicating when you use breath of eons with your allies is probablky the most important thing. More big brain for knowing the hardest packs and using your breath to make them die faster or holding it so you can have it on pull and on cd again for difficult boss fights
an aug evoker I've been playing with just tracked the cds of people in our group with omnicd, and would try to line up breath of eons with things like warrior's avatar or mage's icy veins, etc. he also said the spec was pretty easy to pick up!
@AutomaticJak Wouldnt it be better to " Prescience --> ebonmight ---> breath of eons ---> firebreath -->upheavel ? ( to have the 2 empower spells also in the dmg profile of breath of eons ? i mean ebonmight wont run out if you do it this way AND you can take more dmg in the rotation ? what you think about ?
I absolutely love the idea of the spec, but unfortunately it doesn't feel good to play. Everything revolves around Ebon Might window and there's just too much downtime outside of it. Applying Prescience on cooldown is not very engaging. I would like the rotation to either be more reactive, or to have more things to do. For example have a defense buff, a haste buff, heal amplify and some sort of attack buff, so you can apply different ones to different classes depending on what they benefit the most from or what they need in this exact moment. And also it doesn't feel very rewarding to play this spec since you don't really know how much you contribute, but I guess it'll become better when DPS meter addons will have all necessary tools to calculate your dps buff numbers.
Had hoped more of a bard class with constant rotations of group buffs and some CC's. Would have made me come back to wow. This is too far from it. I wanted to not have to care about DPS/HPS at all, just be a nice buff bot that people don't yell at.

Whats your stance on Fury Warrior with augmentation? I know you mentioned arms, but what do you think of Fury?

Not possible in WoW people even whine about Augvoker right now. If Blizz brings Bard into the game all the DPS people will loose their minds 😂.
