      Always remember that rationality, logic, and skepticism are not character traits, they’re actions. People sometimes do rationality and skepticism, and sometimes they don’t. I just wish they’d do it for religion more.

      That's not true. They clearly were not innocent if God had to resist to such drastic measures. Read more about the days of and before the flood and you'll see why. Humanity and nearly all creatures of the earth became corrupted at a genetic level by the watchers ( fallen angles)

      Andrea Yates didn’t drown her kids so that she would go to heaven, she drowned them so that they would go to heaven. It was supposed to be an act of sacrifice. But really that’s just an indictment of Christianity, because if the system is true then Andrea is a hero.

      My elementary school buddy and his younger sister were both drowned by their Christian mother for similar reasons. Then she unalived herself.
      So, yeah, it makes sense on a theological level.
      I'm just glad the mom didn't off all of us who were at the birthday party earlier that day. Small miracles 😂

    How would Noah feed every different species on Earth for an entire year?
    --Some species only eat other animals
    --One adult lion eats 10-25 pounds of meat in one day (10 x 365 = 3650 pounds of meat on the low end)
    --Some species only eat very specific diets found only in certain parts of the world
    How would Noah know how to medically care for every species on Earth? Did Noah get his degree in veterinary medicine from God?
    If the flood killed everything besides the animals on the boat, what would these animals eat when they get off the boat?
    How did animals from all over the Earth get to the ark? How did species that only exist on mountain tops cross oceans to get to the ark? How did these species get back to where they came from after leaving the ark when there was nothing to eat during their journey?

    Chinese historical records for example, go back about 8000 years[before the time of Noah's flood]. They have no record of their country being underwater. Maybe some of them built a raft then Noah came across them and helped them onto his arc. Yeh, that's what must have happened.

      I believe that the assumption is that the Noah's flood story is all true, the world got covered by water, the clams living in the water made it up to the top of a mountain whilst it was still under water, then died there and got fossilized after the water receded. So they point to the clams as proof of the flood story.

      @@kanidd1 Elevations changed . The mountains were once sea floor . Yes , Mount Everest has sea shell fossils at the summit . It's not that mt Everest existed at the time of the Genesis Flood , but it was pushed up after the flood by Tectonic Plate collision .
      I live in Colorado and have an excavation business and have dug up clam shells high in the Rocky Mountains in Shale which is rock layer formed by underwater volcanic activity . Yes the flood is true

      @@kanidd1 Earth that used to be at the bottom of the ocean being pused up and turned into mountains via tectonic plates, thus showing fossilized clams at the top of mountains makes more sense than a supposed global flood.
      People who told stories about a flood covering the entire world didn't kn ow much about the world while living near floodplaines, making them think thatt everything got flooded.

    You all should consider the Kali Gandaki river gorge in the Himalayas. This is likely to have been formed by the the river that flowed into the sea before the collision of the Indian sub continent with the Asia plate. The river still flows out of the high plateau, through the mountains and on to the Ganges.

    My comeback on shells found on top of mount Everest is simple.... if it were to rain and increase the water levels to cover mountains what make you think the shells left the sea bed and floated 5 miles high in the water then got trapped when the water receded.       I think you think of the world at that time as it appears today. The whole of continents sunk due to water coming from beneath. The amount of fresh water from the deep, plus the water from the heavens, would leave the earth's small oceans filled with fresh water. We did not have large oceans until after the flood.

    The trees passing through multiple layers thing is real. Polystrate fossils. It has only ever been seen with trees though, and trees are arguably unique in that they can remain standing for potentially centuries after they die, which gives plenty of time for seasonal deposition to occur around them and build up in the right circumstances.

    The point these people miss is it wouldn't matter if evolution was disproved. It still doesn't mean a god did it. That's a false dichotomy. There could be a third explanation, a fourth, and so on.

    I've yet to meet a layman who disputes Evolution because he's impartial and weighed the evidence. To a man, everyone I've encountered who does so, does because he's wedded to a literal interpretation of a Bronze Age Creation myth that he's decided is revealed truth.

    Hosts: "Did God regret making the people, so he drowned them to start over?"
    Caller: Yes
    Hosts: "So you're alleging that God is either not all-knowing, that he couldn't see far enough into the future to predict that he would need to start over, or you're alleging that he's not all-powerful, because he wasn't able to create better conditions (since he sets the conditions and the rules) for the world that didn't require a flood from the get-go?

      And apologists will say it's because of free will. If you point out gratuitous evil, then it's gonna be evil or satan at play. Because it's always reassuring to invent an imagery enemy than to admit that their god is fundamentally wrong, before pivoting to saying atheists have no objective moral standards to say god is evil.

      ​@@brandonng2883I would point out that there is no free will, because God has a plan for everyone, and he is directly intervening in human affairs, which destroys any free will. You can't have free will and fate at the same time.

      @@infinitedeath1384 hmm, I've used that argument too that predestination and free will simply can't coexist as it defeats the omniscience of god. However, I've read how they reply and it's not good.
      They'll say free will exists and that human decides their own fate and that's why evil exists because people stray from teaching of god. If free will doesn't exist, it would mean evil people are inherently evil and that would includes babies. That means, in an atheistic worldview, it is okay to delete evil babies/teens/adults.
