      Great review. These guys need to do more/better advertising as in my (likely poor) research I had never come across them. And interchangeable ego batteries?!? I am just in the process of outfitting with ego's 56v outdoor line! Slam dunk. Thanks again (I also see they used the same handle and interface as ego's mower which is nice)

    Greetings from Scotland. Congratulations on winning the Allett special Jubilee mower. What makes you buy a British mower rather than one made in the USA?. Finally are you a professional greenkeeper/lawn care Co or just the average lawn nut like the rest of us. It's some size of lawn you have. I would like to buy a verticutter for my Allett but I can't justify the cost of one in the UK. 👍

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  2 роки тому +4

      Thanks Ray. I’m the average lawn care like everyone else. To my knowledge, there aren’t any US manufacturers of an interchangeable cartridge system mower like what Allett has. That’s my main reason for choosing it. Appreciate you watching. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

    • @Ray_ray11
      @Ray_ray11 2 роки тому

      Thanks Ron. That mower is £10000 here in the UK. That does not include any cartridges and that includes the cutting cylinder. So with just the cutting cylinder it would push the price way up. You guys are lucky in the States, you have access to a lot more products than we have in the UK. We can't even buy fungicides or pesticides. You have to get a Pro with a license to use these products. I enjoy your videos but they do make me jealous.😂 👍

      The C27 is a great machine. Just quite expensive once you factor in the batteries, chargers, and cost of the cartridges. For most residential lawns, the Stirling is a better choice: ua-cam.com/video/G-JwKclF558/v-deo.html

  • @Andrew77MUFC
    @Andrew77MUFC 2 роки тому +3

    Great Review Ron. That C27 seems an absolute beast and just has it all. For your needs and size of property this level of mower , particularly with battery mowers is pretty much the required level (especially with run time). As a long time Allett owner (older Kensington) it is great to see you with one , especially such a great model.
    Factoring in gas prices , less maintenance and the way things are moving towards anyway , a quality battery mower in the arsenal is advisable at this point. To be comparable or exceed gas versions seems you have to go to the commercial level and spend quite a bit. I could maybe get by with one of their Stirling models but would probably have to break up the mows for recharges (given my combined sq ft) , which is not ideal. I hope to get funds aside to be able to buy something around the C27 type level eventually.

      Hi Yvonne. If you're not sure what you have between grubs and armyworms, I'd apply Acelepryn. It covers. a broad range of insects while being safer than other options for the environment. golfcourselawn.store/collections/insecticide-and-fungicide To know what you should be feeding your lawn, get a soil test. The results will tell you which fertilizer you should be using. golfcourselawn.store/collections/home-soil-test-kits-and-ph-adjustments Hope this helps.

    only downside to this is the price 16.5k is so much. I like the bigger size compared to the stirling (since i have a little over half an acre to mow) but the stirling is 4.5k and this is 16k and the main difference is that it is 7 inches wider in cut that seems like a drastic price increase for 7 inches. Having used both, it’s a lot more than just the 7 inch increase in cut. The construction, rubberized steel rear drum, controls, and more put the C27 in a different class than the Stirling.

      @@RonHenry thats good to know. I know these are aimed at more professional uses, just wish it was closer to 10k for this size for us larger lawn folks haha. This may be just outside the price i'm willing to spend so I may be forced to go with the stirling. Really loving the idea of the battery powered reel mowers tho

    The interchangeable cartridges are a huge plus to the Allett system. You are able to handle mowing, verticutting and dethatching all in the same machine. What is your HOC?

      @@RonHenry Thanks Ron for your comments. I don't have Ron's contact. I live in Houston and I purchased the Liberty 43 less than a year ago, including other accessories. Recently the pinion has been falling, making the blade just idle away. I have called their line severally...left messages; to no avail. My machine is still under warranty. No one is replying. What an absolute disgrace of a conpany for a machine that cost me upwards of $3,000.

      The machine isn't as important as the process Dennis. I went with it because of the size of my lawn. Verticutting and turf raking can be done at a lower price with other equipment. Their Stirling mower is a good choice.

      Btw. I know of one person that's bought and received one of these mowers since the review and another that's waiting for his to arrive. So there are some homeowners that are buying these. Just depends on your needs and budget. There's always the Stirling if you don't need a setup quite this big. 👍😎

      Keep in mind that while it can certainly be used on a home lawn, it's targeted for professional use. Not really fair to compare it to consumer mowers. A new Greensmaster 1600 (which only mows grass), goes for between 16 - 17k based on a recent quote I received.
