I truly love him! His cologne is the best! I really was saddened by all of the tribulation he went through in the Netflix story. I am particularly sad about his downfall, and then, his demise from Aids. His story is memorable, and his designs are amazing. Rip, King❤❤❤❤
Bergdorf's and high end upset at his designs for JC Penny is nothing short of class war in action. The designs were different. Just because he designed for JC Penny does not mean there would be the kind of confusion likely feared - wearing something just like JC Penny shoppers. There is no reason why designing for JC Penny would bring the line down? Also what was done with his body of work as he departed: is the same as someone dumping a bunch of impressionist paintings in a landfill after shredding them because of personal dislike.....Vicious, petty arguably criminal.....G
Halston showed that an American Designer can hold their own with the europeans. He kicked the door open for tom ford, calvin klein, isaac mizrahi. He also broke the color barrier when he had Iman and Pat Cleveland as his Models in his shows. That was a very brave thing to do.
#luxecollective as always gives us amazing fashion content, in this case with #halston I didnt know soo many things even that i watched the @Netflix series and UA-cam Archives 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
They needed Karl Lagerfeld to revive the brand or Tom Ford. Both known for having that ability. Who would be their equivalent these days in up and coming talent? Someone non established with clear talent.
Was that 1973 fashion show really as influential as people make it sound now? Halston was a huge designer in America but I'm not sure he did any business in Europe at all. The biggest fashion designer in the 70s was surely YSL by a long way. I knew the name Yves St Laurent from childhood even though I'm not particularly interested in clothes. But I didn't know who Halston was until years later. And I was a child in the 1970s by the way. In Britain though.
You say “hardly anyone knows about him?” Are you referring to people under 30 with zero interest in fashion? Then sure maybe. Re-read your own script about his global impact and accomplishments in fashion and pop culture. For what seemed like a well done video about Halston that ending comment was disappointing and incorrect
How sad! I remember Halston as one of the first true American fashion icons. But QVC? Their fashions are horrible. Nearly everything their designers produce makes women look like they’ve given up. Tunic tops, ugly prints, ugh. I don’t hold out much hope for Halston on QVC. The Halston name deserves better.
Hopefully it gets back on Track My orange bag has no copy cat so far in the market even inn the cheap counterfeit Tge zipper is unique solid gold plated shaped like the washington monument with the H ENGRAVED IN THE ZIPPER PULL
Thanks! Halston deserves to be remembered and revered for all time!
His brand will never be forgot..way too many iconic fashions..everything old is new again 😊
Agreed!! What do you think his most iconic piece is?

Halston needs his biggest fan to take over: mr. Tom ford

Good content! I think it has a curse on it. He was definitely an icon and nobody can reproduce his vision.
Thankyou! He truly was an icon and so many designers take inspiration from his work, we'll never forget him!!
His boutique was Halston 33.
This series are top! Please, keep bringing episodes in!

His name is Roy Halston Frowick and everyone who knows anything about fashion remembers him.
It is Duh Moin.
Deh*
FYI: 2024 HALSTON is again being represented under new designs at Bergdorf Goodman. New leadership in place.
the logical choice is Tom Ford ...but what are the chances...he did buy Halston's townhouse.
Do you know Le Swing in Barcelona?
He was one of . Not the most famous designer of the 20th century. Study fashion history before making demonstrative statements.-
Halston is Legandary i can see Tom Ford inspired by Halston so much especially what he did in Gucci
He really is!! Such an influential designer 👏🏼
Hopefully it gets back on Track
