If you prefer to focus on the music rather than the lyrics is ok dude, I also enjoy the music more than the lyrics, do what suits you best. The girls debuted the 4th chapter of their concept album QOTMS in the Lunario concert in 2018, they play all the 13 songs in order plus 5 songs from their previous album XXI Century Blood, the set list is:
    Intro
    ✅ Dust to Dust
    ❌ Unmendable
    Chapter I
    ✅ Crimson Queen
    ✅ Ugh
    ✅ The One
    ❌ When I'm Alone
    Chapter II
    ✅ Stalker
    ✅ Red Hands Never Fade
    ✅ The Sacrifice
    ❌ XXI Century Blood
    Chapter III
    ✅ Sinister Smiles
    ✅ Dull Knives (Cut Better)
✅ Queen of the Murder Scene
    ❌ Copper Bullets
    Chapter IV
    ✅ P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C
    ✅ Hunter
✅ The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade)
    ❌ Survive
✅ means it's part of QOTMS, any way I suggest to react to the full concert, all songs are great. You can find a playlist on the band channel, or better an hour and a half video that includes before and after the concert footages. I hope you enjoy the experience 🤘.

It’s amazing how this little girl has so much power and emotion in her craft.
She won the best drummer of the year award, but also she needs the award of the best songwriter of the year. 80% of “the warning” lyrics come from Pau.
I think these girls were sent to this world for a purpose, even their name “The Warning” just popped up in a festival when they were little girls, they needed a name for the band and they just decided “The Warning”.
They didn’t know at that time that their music is literally a warning to new generations to be aware of the dangers of AI, social media, mundane and superficial life, tyranny, depression, evolution, animosity, toxic relationships and so on.
They are something special my friend.
I think we need to support them, they are a gem 💎 in this horrible music industry nowadays.

Pau is just as good a singer as Dany and is better than Dany for a certain sort of song where deep or contemplative emotion needs to be expressed. I can't decide between 23 and Breathe for my favorite Pau song. BTW, I avoided 23 for a long time due to the title and almost cried the first time I heard it. Pau is something else. I call her "the beating heart of The Warning."

The best music creates it's own atmosphere and can cause the listener to zone out while the song conjures imagery/messaging in their mind. These ladies do this time and time again. I completely understand what you mean.

We could tell how you felt; it was on your face. We've felt the same way listening to this song. Pau is mesmerizing - not only is she a kick-ass drummer, she can belt out a song (Dust to Dust) or seem so vulnerable and sweet (23). This is one of my favorites.

yup, I know exactly what your saying. Though as I sit here I can’t put words to it either so I’ll let Dany say it: “Music is that one companion who always knows exactly what you’re feeling. Music is passion, music is hope, music is life.” Daniella Villarreal, 2017

I greatly appreciate you showing the song on full screen, letting the performance shine. And not stopping the song to"react". If you have this whole CDMX concert, then you have some songs from QOTMS, particularly Dust To Dust and Dull knives. The Lunario show, from about 2018, is more raw, bug is awesome nonetheless.
The Warning do shine best live, like all good bands IMHO.

    *23*
*23* , like many of their songs, is left open to interpretation... some have speculated the title is for the year "2023" while others have thought it references someone's age... i was not sure but have come to see it as being about the year "2023" because that's when Pau turned 21 years old... the lyrics "barely old enough to drink" are fitting in many locales where 21 is the drinking age... in DPA/TW's home area, the drinking age is 18, IIRC...
anyway, this is certainly a song about caring deeply for someone from afar, holding back, and then realizing that, in the future, they will meet that someone again... how they will handle their feelings and memories and what may possibly happen...
then again, while it sounds personal, maybe this song is about something they might have read or seen in a movie or TV show... after all, their song *Amour* comes from a 15 second clip of a scene in the movie _"Ratatouille"_ ... that scene has the camera looking through a hole in the wooden floor... there are two characters down there having a fight... maybe a lover's quarrel? i don't remember... anyway, they are arguing, they suddenly hug each other, and it is done; end clip...
there's also their song *Wildfire* which was inspired by _"The Hunger Games"_ movies... i think at least the 2nd one titled _"Catching Fire"_ ...
DPA/TW have drawn inspiration from a lot of places... IRL, books, movies, games, etc 😹
this song has brought tears to many eyes... while being a powerful drummer, Pau is also a fantastic and very emotive singer...
i don't go a day without hearing DPA/TW... they possess both, my heart and soul...
    TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

I get what you're saying about QOTMS, and I worried how this song would measure up in comparison to that, given that that was where your mind was at going into this. I was foolish to doubt Pau though. It's crazy how much power she puts into this simple teenage heartbreak song. This song should be a dud for this grown-ass man - instead it's one of my favourites. On a long list of them tbf, but it's up there.
Pau has made me forget that Dany and Ale are even there on this one - which is crazy, cause these are some great guitar parts from Dany. A 10/10 song from the whole band.

  • @justinatest9456
    @justinatest9456 3 місяці тому +17

"Live at Lunario" is the full QOTMS album's live debut, and it's great. In between each "chapter" they play a few earlier songs, but otherwise the whole album is played in order from front to back. It's a legendary show. If you like grit, it's got it in spades. Where the Teatro show is well-polished and pretty, Lunario is dirty, heavy, and basically unedited. Very raw, and very recommended.
Just find a track listing if you want to skip the non-album songs. Either way, seeing the girls at that age (18, 16, and 13) absolutely crushing their concept album like that is well worth the watch. Hell, just Ale's bass playing alone is worth the price of admission.
Edit: As for the lyrics - I would put them aside and focus on the energy. They're pretty cryptic and don't really clarify the narrative too much. Perhaps a quick review of the meaning of each song as you go would help just to keep you up with the energy that Dany brings to the vocals. There is a google doc with a short song by song synopsis (by Timberwolf672) that I'd recommend. But imo the lyrics would be more of a distraction from a really great live show.

the best music is the music that transports you to another place or time or frame of thought. The Warning does this so effortlessly. Dany has a mostly straight up rock voice that'll pummel you. Pau has the tender voice that'll just rip your hearty out. it's mind boggling how someone can sing so tenderly while drumming at the same time.

To remain in context if watching their QOTMS concert at Lunario, there is a prologue (Dust to dust) followed by four chapters with three songs in each.
However, they did add a song from their first full album, 21st Century Blood, in each chapter for their long time fans.
Be aware there’s an “extra bonus” track in each chapter that doesn’t follow the QOTMS narrative.

I think reading the lyrics before you play the song helps set the tone. That way when playing the song you have an idea of what they're saying but once the song is playing you're more so hearing the atmosphere theyre creating with the story. And youll probably catch a lyric or two more when you're hearing it. I go through that same feel as you, heard songs 100's of times, i still forget the chorus even though ive heard those lines maybe 1000's of times. This song makes me feel the way Led Zeppelin's music makes me feel, it just takes me there to the picture theyre painting.

I love Pau's writing as well. It's so funny looking at pictures of her a little younger and not in rock gear. She looks like just a nice little girl, maybe someone who will become a librarian or chemist. But she has so much emotional energy and talent it just explodes on stage and she becomes this incredible rock star. Her writing is very much in line with everything about them as a band: It's honest, poetic, vulnerable, and resonant. Just as she isn't stretching for any of the notes she's singing, her words are not approximations, they're straight from the heart. Kind of blows your socks off doesn't it!

There is a lyric meaning write up for the QOTMS concept LP by Timberwolf, and works perfectly with the Lunario show. If you do it, I would download it, then follow the LP song list so you can skip over older songs they included in it. Best thing about the Lunario show, is they did it in order for all 13 songs, starting with Dust to Dust with Paulina singing. She also ends the Concept LP, with "The End". We can get you the link if you want it. Hope you do it, as the entire LP is considered one of the best concepts ever made.

This one gets me every time. It's hard to focus on the lyrics with the emotional performance she's putting on. It's truly captivating.

I really enjoy your reactions. There isnt a dedicated concert of "Queen of the Murder Scene" that is of the Teatro Metropolitan caliber. They do sell the album on their website, though. This what I listen to. The studio version has clear audio.

I'm a music first, lyrics second kinda guy too... So many reactors want to stop the video every 5 seconds to know the lyrics ... I can't stand that ... maybe on you're 2nd time listening, but not on the first time. Play it through to get the 'feeling' !! Thank for your reaction (we could see it on your face) !!

I simply just love this song.
It also takes me a while to get into the lyrics, I feel the voice as an instrument first. And this song just always makes me feel something.
