So those plastic things on the cables are called "ferrite bead" used to counter electromagnetic interference to and from a device, usually only still used on cheap cables missing proper insulation. The cable acts like an antenna, and they prevent interference.
So if I take it apart or split it down the center it’s not going to be a hollow piece of plastic, and I’m not gonna feel silly for naïvely believing you 🙂
@GamerHeavenOfficial Nope, it's usually just the cable looped around itself. It's like when we learned if we twist telephone wires you won't be able to hear your neighbors' phone calls, so they put a "twist" in the form of a single loop over itself. Now we have shielded cables so you won't see this on "better" electronics generally. Edit to add, if you take them off just zip tie the loop into the cable in the same spot, the irony of it is the plastic thing keeps the loop from catching on things.
Thanks for another well reviewed controller video .Tldr back buttons and trigger stops still good, which is what ppl get this thing for. Still disappointed that they haven't updated their sticks/software to allow response curve changes. Flydigi and Big Big have ruined me in that regard. Every other controller feels off now. FYI since they're using the same sticks those purple sticks, fit and look good on a scuf envision pro. You know they could drop the Dolby and Xbox licensing and save that money for better parts. And yes I dropped one Gambit, from about 4ft high, on cold tile and good bye left bumper and stick. Good things these things are cheaper especially when bought used, very good warehouse price. Probably won't get it for PC but Xbox it's good
That cold hard tile claims another controller. When I was a wee lad I actually dropped a controller onto tile in the kitchen, the funeral was right afterwards
Awesome video dude as always brother! But I actually still believe the thumb sticks of the Gambit are like the fastest ones I've ever tried out of 26 controllers! And I've tried seven Gambits👀🤣
In my experience the original gambit wasn’t able to overclock to 1000hz, it failed to go above 500hz. Similar experience? If so, good on victrix to making it better!
I've been binging your videos the past 3 or 4 months-ish and Jesus Christ does the controller market change so fast! Controllers that were the best option when I first started looking now have a better alternative somewhere so it feels like I'm just back to square 1 and just as lost. What sub $100 controller(s) currently have the best response time (ideally 1k) and GOOD hall sticks/triggers that you'd recommend? I don't really care about rgb or aesthetics or features, (im never gonna be looking at the damn thing) just want the absolute best raw performance for my budget. Switch/GOOD gyro support is a must too, since I only use motion controls on switch and pc shooters. Was looking at the guilikit kk3 but some qc issues a friend had with the gyro sensor scared me away from it, and the apex 4 would be my choice controller if it just wasn't out of my price range
Thanks for the continued support. Yes it’s crazy how quickly it changes. Honestly the game sir G7 SE at $45 or the Vader three pro at $80 are great. Games are does one MS through their software, fly digi all very respectable in the input delay department. Hope this was helpful my friend and hope you enjoyed the video
@@GamerHeavenOfficial What about the Vader 4 Pro that recently released? It's priced the same as the Vader 3 Pro, I haven't seen any deep-enough-dive into the Vader 4 to know too much about it, is there a significant hardware miss or qc issue that makes it a downgrade compared to the Vader 3?
It’s not new or any different than the original gambit. Just painted faceplate black and took out the case and some swappable features. The original was recently on GameStop and Amazon for 60-80 before additions to the Victrix lineup. They’re just recycling the old inventory as a new product while cutting costs. Ive had 9 of these bad boys in the last two years, bumper breakage and stick drift happens quickly on every single one. That being said it is the most accurate Xbox Controller for fps hands down. Out of box has the perfect potentiometer resistance. Wish they could get Hall effects to recenter right with resistance like the gambit and we’d be close the the perfect fps controller
bumpers are the worst!!! if they fixed that it would be pretty close to perfect controller ive owned 4 and every single left bumper has broken but ur right its the exact controller
Aye Cap’n there’s a potential budget king on Amazon from a company called bigbig won , specifically the Gale Hall wireless controller.. there’s no way it’s as good as advertised for the same price of a stocker
I’m actually pretty familiar with their controllers, I’ve reviewed a couple models on the channel over the last couple years and I’ve really enjoyed them. I have not heard of that new model but will definitely be reviewing it
@GamerHeavenOfficial apparently so, I was told by a friend of mine that if you play wired into the controller it inverts the audio but haven't tested it myself
80 bucks for a wired controller and still no hall effect sticks?! Nah, my GameSir G7 is still going hard. Only thing I would've wanted this is for the hair trigger support but meh. Thank you for the review, good sir! 🙏
Anyone in the comments have a victrix controller? How does it compare it the elite series 2? I really want to try the BFG, but I've tried other pro controllers, and they just do not compete with the elite series 2 when it comes to comfort
I owned the Xbox version of the pro bfg and still own the victrix gambit, Xbox series 2, digifly apex 3 and 4 (as well as the nacon revolution 5 pro for ps5) and the bfg is the only one I not only didn't like but hated..besides feeling like a hollow, cheap controller, the worst part for me was how loose the buttons felt especially the back paddles. I way prefer the series 2 over it, especially mine because I changed out the paddles to the scuf elite 2 paddles (they're like 20 bucks on Amazon).
I've had the original gambit for over 2 years now and still have 0 stick drift. Way better than the elite. Comfortable too and I use all 4 back buttons
So not exactly a pad to beat the band. Not a great competitor to the king of this 80 dollar space, the well-established Vader 3 Pro and its successor, which you have been yelled at to do a hundred times already, I'm sure.
There is built-in deadzones of 5 on the Victrix gambit (original), so I'm guessing the prime is identical. Put your deadzones to 0 in game, you'll get used to 5.
I’m still feeling nervous about buying a controller with extra buttons and changeable thumb sticks. Is this a good controller to get despite the cheap plastic feeling?
Sadly this controller is not for me... The joystick tension is too much, you can't be precise and do micro adjustment (atleast for me) on cod at a high level. I return them and will try the gamesir g7 se. I'm using hyperkin xenon (Xbox 360 controller) at the moment, they are the best ones i ever used but without paddles it's hard to compete now.
@@TJSlinkerton69 well for any Xbox series controllers they’ll connect automatically using Bluetooth. Otherwise you need the Xbox wireless adaptor. As far as PlayStation, I think it should be the same but I have never tried.
I’ve got a Gambit and a Gamesir Kaleid. The Kaleid is by far the best controller I’ve ever used. The Gambit triggers are great but the Kaleid does everything else far better. Like button and stick response. Both are far better than the elite 2 I used to use for quite a while
The gambit and the BFG are the reason not to believe the "all" hype of Hall effect sticks. Good potentiometer sticks are good sticks, they are not inferior in general. BTW the OG gambit and the new prime gambit are not wireless... the BFG is with a dongle, but it sucks at wireless. The back buttons are also 4 separate buttons and not removeable/swappable like the two gambit models... Everyone should watch the vid on the BFG before buying this new one.
I have the Gambit version but one of the tabs from the rear buttons just broke after 1 year of use. PDP does sell those rear buttons or a pack of accesories for this controller and the Victrix? And i suppose the front faceplate is swappable with the victrix gambit? The white one and the purple?

What’s the difference w/ this vs the white dual core one?
In a previous video you said new Xbox series x controllers are 250hz. Do you know what model those are?
So???
Just a question what is the actually fastest xbox controller?
Is this the best controller for pc or any other not over $100?
does anybody know if there are any xbox controllers that have half dome back paddles similar to the ones on the dual sense edge?
I guess if you're a pro player then the Gambit or prime would be good for PC since it doesn't have macros or turbo functions
That is true, but there’s a shit load of other controllers that don’t have turbo or macro.
Isn't the victrix audio jack inverted and you can't fix it so left is right and vice versa
