- My name is Austin, this is Mopar Garage, and we build cool stuff in here! Today we are putting some finishing touches on the 1973 Plymouth Satellite and getting it on the road for the first time since 1993! This car had been sitting for 31 years! There is still a bunch of odds and ends to take care of, but I think it's time we start enjoying it for a little while until we eventually tear the 318 out of it in favor of a sweet 440.

Thanks man!!
Such a cool project
Thanks man. I’m super pumped on this one. Need to get back on the Daytona soon though!
@@TheMoparGarage what's the plan for the interior? That looks as rough as the outside
@@vegasrider05 I’ve got a couple cool ideas for the outside that should be started in the next week or two. As for the interior, it needs a good cleaning, the dash is in great shape besides 2 cracks, back seat is in decent shape, I’ll probably have the front bench re-upholstered. It’s definitely always going to be a patina car though.

My guy! Let's go!!
That year mopar small block should have long rod that transmits throttle pressure to the kick down lever on the trans. It keeps the trans from upshifting if the throttle is pushed hard. (with the car off) floor the carb and adjust until the rod moves about .5 to .75 inches more. The adjustment is a bolt holding a slotted rod behind the pivot arm where a spring is attached. If you floor it while driving and it doesn't down shit, you have it too lose. In 1973 (if I remember correctly,) mopar put the part throttle kick down valve in the trans so it should down shift with a good stop on the pedal even if you don't floor it. If it down shifts too easily, change the adjuster to have .75 to 1" movement floored.
Good stuff man, thank you!
I’ve never heard of an opal either 😂
Haha an Opal hatchback was one of the stupid starter cars in Gran Turismo, that’s the extent of my brand knowledge 😂
