Do you need to download an APP on your computer to view the videos? I connected to my laptop and nothing is popping up.

No app on this one, use the SD card to view files on the computer:-)

When I press the M the menu won’t come up only a keg on the bottom left pops up. Please help

Did you press & HOLD the M button? Also is it charged up all the way? I'm charging mine now to see if I can replicate what you're seeing.

Is it charged or only work while the car is on ?

It has a capacitor that stores energy not a standard battery which is different but it works. It won't stay on long without being plugged in.
