- I've been making UA-cam videos since the very beginning of UA-cam - my first upload was February 2006, so I thought it would be fun to take a look back at over 14 years of UA-cam content.

Who else needs a full version of this AESTHETIC LICC arrangement???
This is the best licc remix I have ever heard.
Please do make that licc arrangement available on bandcamp, Adam ! I'd gladly pay for that ! Love the mood it's got !

Hey Adam, I met you after the NAMM 2019 panel you did with Paul Davids and Taylor Gordon. I asked for a picture, and you made the most awkward smile I’ve ever seen anyone do. Also, congrats on 1M.
I've been wearing the same "licc" t-shirt for two weeks straight. It now smells like jazz.
This scared me. I thought this was a “I’m quitting UA-cam” type video for a second so I’m glad it isnt.

so, I'm not a musician. Never had any experience with an instrument or any theory. But since I started watching your videos back in 2016 I've learned a lot through you, discovered an interest i didn't knew i had, studied some theory and have since started learning to play keyboard and to compose a bit too. And it's all thanks to you. Thank you for everything. I'm proud to be one of these 1 Million. To the next 14 years of youtube!

I wonder why he didn't talk about the "How to not suck at music" series. I actually loved those videos.
I think he's mentioned before that he's sort of embarrassed by that series.
@@musikman43204 Still, it was part of his history. He also said that he regretted deleting some very early videos. That is basically why I ask
@@musikman43204 Would you recall why he feels embarassed by them? I remember them as being well thought out
@@Genkidayama I think maybe it was addressed in an IG Live. Just because he's taking the submissions of his fan base & picking it apart & critiquing their ability. I never watched one that seemed overly mean or critical, but, I think the name of the series doesn't really fit the content of the video. Neely would helpful hints or ideas on how to improve. When Adam called himself a “music communicator,” I felt that.
I remember 2-3 years ago I was forced to play boring piano stuff and I ended up hating it for a while.
About a year ago, I got into jazz and got into piano again. I started to look on youtube for piano tutorials and synthesia videos for how to play songs. Once I realized that I needed to learn actual sheet music, I got a real book for my birthday and let myself go free.
It was awesome getting to play songs I liked through the real book, but I eventually started to get bored of my style of playing that only consisted of playing chords in 1st inversion all day, but that’s how we all start isn’t it?
I came across Adam’s channel 9 months ago, and that’s when my improvement really started going. His videos sparked my interest in music theory and all the different aspects of music. I’m more serious about learning music now and i’m having even more fun with it than I did before. Thank you for getting me and a million others into music, you’re videos are awesome!
Also, I now have the lick stuck in my head 24/7 at 7/11, which officially makes you a jazz meme communicator as well. Thanks for that.
I used to walk across Pulaski Bridge every day. Seeing you set up there at the beginning brought the big feels. Stay safe and healthy.
Yes I remember you very well
Well, at least we learnt how to play the lick
I just found out the lick is also in a deep purple guitar solo... WEIRD

That Myspace thing makes me a bit sad. In this age we have every means of keeping and maintaining history no matter how small or big, but stuff like that happens.
It reminds of Silent Hill 2. A masterpiece of a game where only fragments of the unfinished product exist and the remaster severely suffered.
It's incredible how we simultaneously have access to information that would have been considered lost 20 years ago and have basically no archives of the past 10.
If you ever choose to quit UA-cam I would respect it, but man oh man would that day be a sad one. The fact that he's still doing all of the video editing by himself is like, beyond amazing. Most channels who pass, or get close to a mill. subs would've at least have hired a video editor to help out.
Though, I do think it brings a certain consistency to the channel. Every video editor is going to work in slightly different ways.
It's actually fun, how a lot of channels who do employ video editors will tell who edited the video in the video, I guess as a way to explain the slight inconsistency, and also to just pull back the curtain a little.
