Perhaps this might help. Lo-Res filming may have obscured detail. The 5 rotor blades can be unhinged at the hub and folded against the tail. Unfortunately an image link I tried would not transfer over.
Great footage. I've never seen two helicopters mating before and I wonder how long it will take to give birth to the baby Gazelle helicopters. LOL! Love it, I've got a think about Chinooks and Sea Kings.
Weird we had an air ambulance strike a tree whilst landing on scene at medical call. The pilot sat it down and they just left it there for a few days on the persons front lawn until the repair parts showed up. Than it just took off. Wouldn’t have thought to get another helicopter to come pick it up.
Those are some REALLY LIFELIKE "RC" HELICOPTERS THERE, CHIEF. THE WORLD'S ONLY "CHINOOK" THAT LOOKS "SMALL" COMPARED TO A "SEA STALLION". REAL "LIFELIKE" AND ABOUT AS BELIEVABLE AS THAT DUBBED IN "CHOPPER NOISE" FOR THE "CHINOOK'".
The Chinook and Sea King are two of my favourite helicopters in the RAF
Chinook is a beast. By far, the greatest Helo on Earth.

The trans is a bit of an issue
No auto rotate
@@MrLightning1776 The 53 is a massive beast, but it suffers at high altitudes.

Our lads are the world's best with a Wokka.
The 160th SOAR would like to challenge that.
Love YT algorithm for recommending this in 2024 :)
Very impressive. Great piloting too

😆😆😆👍
12 years later this appears on my page
Yeah me too 😆😆
And I thought it was loud UNDER a chinook!
Just imagine going inadvertent IMC while slinging the SeaKing.....piece of cake for a Huey pilot! Just saying to my brothers and fellow rotorheads....
I’m local to Caernarfon, but does anyone know the exact location for this?
So how cool was that. Shame about resolution of the day but got the idea👍
good clip showing lift capability's of Chinook... Seaking prob weighs 6000+kgs Chinook can lift about 12000-13000 kgs
I didn't realise the Seaking was so big!

When it’s an RAF sea king and the RAF also have the Chinook, then why not recover the Sea King and work on it in a warm dry hanger
IMPRESSIVE!!!
Simply the best
Awesome what power
Training exercise, if fuel was contaminated, or crtitial engine compromise, train for everything

DEEREMEYER1 Are you ok?
Those people must be tiny borrowers then ...
Chinooks are a lot smaller than you think when you see them close up
