I'm a white British male, and today in my city, I spoke with someone in Portuguese who was from Mozambique, and she cried in shock and said to me " nunca encontrei um homem tão simpático, Tu és britânico, mas tens um grande respeito pela outras culturas." . I genuinely didn't expect her to cry, but a little while after when she seen me speaking in Thai, she blown away again, asked me what my job was, and I told her I work at a hospital, and it made me feel warm inside when she said "you are the right type of person needed in a hospital"

I just came back from France and had the most wonderful experience. Having started learning French a few years ago, it blew my mind what a different experience it was from the last time I visited. It really means so much to people when you speak their language and connect with them with a genuine interest in their language and culture. Keep up the great work!
