Minimum focus distance is 1.3 feet (40cm).
My sentiments exactly. As we do theme parks and doing rides this has been awesome and want to use it as vlog camera vs sony EV-1 but as you said have to change lens. So action camera it blows Gopro away but not sure it is an everday vlogging camera. Awesome video

amazing video as always, really glad I saw this before hand, as was tempted to grab one for overhead shots, but yeah that auto focus really wouldn't work for tech reviewers. Have you tried out the GO 3? I have been trying to get ahold of the marketing team for a test kit as would love to do some more POV photography etc, but it is almost impossible to get ahold of them ahaha.
Man if that focus issue can be addressed, it would be such a killer overhead camera!
I have not tried any of their other cameras aside from their webcam. The Go3 seems to be pretty solid though!
@@JordanPulmano Oh hands down would be a game changer for all purpose, like even photography looks clean on it! and yeah I really trying to get my hands on the Go 3 just for versatility of shots in my content, as that one seems more capable and sure it have focus depths but I could be wrong aha
Hi! Can I ask why you used 24 fps instead of 30? Is it to save more memory or is there any other reason? I mean I just bought this camera and try to find out the best setting to vlog. Thanks before.
I’ve heard a lot of talk about faces being out of focus close-up. It’s true on the GoPro as well, I just got the Hero 12 and minimum focus distance is about 1 foot away. If you get closer than 12 inches, it’s a serious problem. These cameras aren’t meant for getting close-ups without a diopter or macro lens attachment.
I really want this camera but I'm seeing too many reviews mention the poor focus distance. My cellphone video does a better job at vlogging.
Focus distance is only "poor" if you plan on holding the camera a foot (or less) away from your face. At that distance your face is going to be pretty much occupying the entire height of the frame. If you vid yourself that close, then yes, skip the ace pro. The Action 4 might be the cam for you. But if you're like most people who stretch their hand out slightly bent, then you shouldn't have a problem

There's 'word' that Insta360 addressed the close focus issue on their new batches, not sure if that's true, ask them for a new unit and do a side by side if you can.

Any word on whether this problem has been resolved yet with a patch or anything? I really want this camera but the focus issue is just no good. Apart from that it’s almost perfect for what I want but it’s a pretty big problem they have. My GoPro 8 has the same issue but when a bit closer and it drives me mad. Thanks for the video
