Watching from the USA. Such a lovely tribute to the life and service of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. May he rest in peace. God Save the Queen.
Seeing Princess Beatrice fighting tears and being overwhelmed with emotion @1:03:28 really pulled on the heart strings. The Duke of Edinburgh had a profound, prolonged effect on so many people. Those who knew him personally and those who only knew him briefly had their lives forever changed by his character and knowledge.
As a total 'aside', anything to do with Remembrance, Royalty or Her Majesty's Armed Forces, Huw Edwards is absolutely pure CLASS. I think of the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance from the Albert Hall. Exemplary, year after year, he presents with professionalism and British pride. Thank you, Huw ❤🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Her Majesty is one of the greatest monarchs in the history of the British Court. I feel very fortunate to have lived during and witnessed her reign. She stands today as a towering figure above the evil attacking democracy in Europe. God Save the Queen.
The coverage by the BBC was very respectful. And what a stellar turnout from the other Royal houses too. It's such a shame that this wonderful service has been overshadowed in the press by stories honing in on Prince Andrew and Prince Harry.
Thank you very much BBC Studios for sharing this beautiful service with us. We thank God for a life well lived by the Duke of Edinburgh, our beloved Prince Phillip. He will be greatly missed. We will always remember him. May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory. God Save the Queen and Bless us all.
Prince Edward for me has had the best transformation. He started off as a spoilt brat who thought he was a great TV producer, but he mellowed and became more humble after the married in 1999. Sophie certainly changed him for the better. People who work for them say they are the best family of the royals to work for. Kind, welcoming and very little ego. What a transformation.
Seeing the Duke, giving Interviews, makes me nearly cry....he was always there in my Life, watching from the age of 10, Trooping onecst a year...and than always reading about him and his remarks, which I thought, were funny.....I miss him...just being there and looking grimm or funny or whatever...not in light years could imagine what our Queen is going through....but she always was strong , will be strong untill her last Breath..God bless our noble Queen

Oh this was adorable and cute at 41:52 - when Peter Phillips children suddenly saw themselves on the TV monitors in the Abbey, their reactions was so cute.
" REMEMBERING - AN IMAGE OF STEADFAST , JUSTICE , FAITHFULNESS , AND LOVE ." " BUT IN THE MIDST OF WONDER AND BEAUTY OF THESE TALES , LET'S NOT FORGET THE ONE WHO MADE IT ALL POSSIBLE . ( 2022)
5:30 fun fact: Duchess Kate is a Gold awardee too and thus was invited to award ceremony usually hosted by the late duke himself or other royal family member. it is unknown if she met the duke in person back then, but still funny to see royals again some decades later because you are to become part of the family.
Judging by the Viscount Severn's reaction here from 49:38 it looks like this was his first time in Westminster Abbey, as he is looking around at the beautiful Quire area of the abbey. He turns to his big sister who speaks to him, probably asking him what he thinks of it, and it looks like he is impressed.
Geoffrey griffith in philadelphia usa a nice service for a gentleman i saw the queen elizabeth and prince philip in barbados in 1955 when i was a school boy they was visiting our country they were very pleasant their son prince charles was born in 1948 the same year as myself my country of barbados was ruled by england which was and is still good to barbados may god be still be with him rest in peace amen
Thanks be to God Almighty: We love You LORD. For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.Ps.89:17. Amen. God save the King.
Well it is a place which is a 1,000 years old, and I sincerely doubt they will ever remove it. The Quire section goes back to the ancient Roman Catholic tradition, where their so called sacrafice of the "Mass" was celebrated only in the presence of the clergy and choristers, with lay people left outside the Quire and to "listen" to the "Mass" being celebrated. This is the reason why when Christopher Wren was planning to build St Paul's Cathedral, his intention was always to have the congregation get the best view they could. And it sort of worked there.
, this is not quite the right take on the reason for the screen. The building is called Westminster Abbey, because it was founded as the church for a monastery. It was the monks' church., not a place of public worship, except by agreement with the Abbot. The eastern end was reserved for the monks, as distinct from the clergy. The nave (western end) was given over for the use of the general populace. The mass could also be celebrated the oter side of the screen, as it still is at some services, to this day. .
Prince Philip. A Life well-lived. 💙 Roya Nikkah makes a mistake @54:32 confusing Prince Philip with Prince William, who is thankfully is still alive and well and hopefully will be for many more decades to come.
We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:the LORD fufill all thy petitions.Ps.20:5. Stay Blessed UK& all yours in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.

Nothing against Huw Edwards, not his fault that the BBC coverage of this wonderful event was abysmal. I like Huw , but where was the commentary explaining who was there ? The majority of European royalty came and went without a word on who they were. Shame on you BBC.
Why did Huw Edwards keep looking to his right as if distracted ? It was so obvious that I thought it was quite rude and unusual for such a normally brilliant commentator . Or is it just me ?
His floor manager is behind the camera, they were having technical problems in their outside studio at Westminster Abbey. Problems that no one knew by watching, but there were a lot of equipment failures that morning.
Why shouldn't he go to a memorial service for his father? I dislike him, having met him a few times. However, he has only been found guilty in the court of public opinion. And public opinion is generally worthless. Look at what happened when the public were given the chance to name a serious polar ship. Boatie McBoatface. And these people have a vote. No wonder the country is a mess.

The Duchess of Cornwall looked lovely in green.
The green is the heraldic colour of Edinburgh. That is the reason that so many of the women were in green rather than black.

The problem with Westminster Abbey is that the main congregation cannot see what goes on behind the Rood screen, in the Quire with the altar.
Well it is a place which is a 1,000 years old, and I sincerely doubt they will ever remove it.
