S3E1 All three of them together could barely restrain Mariner. Granted, Mariner was more motivated, and they had different goals- I think Tendi was staying in Starfleet mode, so she would probably be a match for Mariner on her own if she went Orion mode.
It would be interesting to see an enemy turn Tendi against the crew of the Cerritos with some kind of mind control or whatever. Tendi unrestrained would be a match for anyone on the ship and her knowledge of ships in general and the Cerritos would make her a force to be reckoned with. When Tendi and the boys tried to fight control of the Cerritos away from Mariner, Tendi was not fighting at full force so that doesn’t count. Tendi is probably my favorite character from this show.
The Orions could have kicked Borg but in those battles, even if Tendi probably wasn't in Starfleet when they happened. The Defiant is probably much like an Orion ship small fast and deadly. Unfortunately the Orions avoid stand up fights, Orion is technically part of the Federation so protecting Orion and the Federation is Star Fleets job. If the Borg had gone anywhere near Orion though family and Syndicate ships probably would have shown up from the entire sector. Orion lore has been spotty in the TV shows, the original animated series and Enterprise went into it more than any others. However, it's been written about in novels and games since the 70s. The writers from Lower Decks actually pay attention to these sources of lore. The following Lore dump is technically all from unofficial sources now: When Orion's joined the Federation it was for economic reasons. They already had a massive fleet of ships, most were armed merchant vessels owned by independent or family operators, and the Enterprise series explained they already had a long history of piracy against themselves and other space faring races they made contact with. Their home world always denied it had any control over the pirates and claimed they were not sanctioned by the people and government of their home system. When Star Fleet was being formed and it was decided that the individual worlds defense fleets be rolled into Star Fleet, and even the Vulcans and Andorians were giving up or decommissioning some of their ships, all the military appropriate ships of Orion defense forces disappeared. The small family operatored "trade fleets" and Syndicate forces all of a sudden had a lot more heavily armed ships though. The government of the Orions home system still insisted that although they had ordered their defense forces to hand control over to Star Fleet some of all the crews mutinied and stole their entire fleet. The Orion government and captured pirates on some of those vessels haven't changed that story since. Although Federation intelligence and law enforcement has suspected all along that the people of the Orion worlds of the Federation support the Orion Pirates and the Syndicate no significant proof has ever been found against any civilian political leaders that Federation law can act upon. The local Orion governments don't tend to follow any leads provided to them by the Federation either. So everyone pretty much suspects that all Orions are involved in the various piracy and Syndicate illicit trades. The only time the Federation and Star Fleet can do anything is when they catch them in the act of something illegal. However, with only a couple of exceptions whenever Star Fleet has ships that could do anything about it anywhere near such illegal operations the Orions behave them selves and act like model citizens of the Federation, quirky but obviously not involved in any of that unsavory stuff. It hasn't helped that humans of certain persuasions and family histories have joined the Orion Pirates, at least there are rumors of such things, and helped them move things around on human worlds discretely. So even raised by unaffiliated humans on Earth, many Federation citizens are going to assume Mesk was a pirate anyway.
I doubt that any mortal race in the Alpha Quadrant outside of the Husnock would have been a match to the Borg. The Orions would have been able to put up a decent fight, but they wouldn’t have been able to inflict enough damage to take down a cube. A pirate needs no weapons just their mind and badass martial arts skills😂
"Shh, I'm pirating" Tendi and Rutherford are definitely in that grey area between friends and in a relationship.
What is the theme called? 1:50
I kinda got a thing for Tendi, Command me oh Mistress of the Winter Constellation.
I love how you get hints of this side of her all throughout the series, like how during the not trial, she talks about how she took on Romulan SS, but no one believed her.
But then you see this scene anf go... o-oh... she really can
A pirates life is a wonderful life 🏴☠️
Bad ones, too, the ones with boobs on the cover. 😂😂
in my mind, Tendi knew from the start, that Mesk was faking it. Every other Orion encountered in the series seems to immediately recognize her as the "mistress of the winter constellations". Mesk was definitely a fake.
Exactly, that's what I was thinking, too.
A great episode. The crossover is lonely top. I like both series very much. Thanks for uploading the video. 🖖
"Shhh, I'm pirating"
*Mesk* : I'm a faker. I don't know. I've...I've never even been to Orion. I-I'm from Cincinnati.
*Tendi* : Are you freaking serious?
*Rutherford* : Cincinnati?
I love D'Vana
Is Mesk at least familiar with the Cincinnati tradition of the turkey air drop?
Him being from Cincinnati reminds me of the Aziz Ansari bit about people trying to find out what country he's from, only to find out he was born in South Carolina.
I love Tendi!
Tendi needs her own series! FRFR
There are a lot of similarities between the Orion Syndicate and the citizens of Ohio especially Cleveland and to a lesser degree Cincy.
For some reason this video refuses to load four me. Can't watch it on my phone or my desktop. The rest of UA-cam is fine, it's just this video. Nothing can be done want it, just needed to vent my frustration.
SAME...I even gave it a full day and still nope
Her great grandfather would be very proud
For anyone having issues playing the video, set the quality to 144p. UA-cam being a shitty platform again.
Only getting the issue on this video, which is weird
I love how that orion guy represented how some black people expect all black people to act.
I think it's a broader category of how people who feel obligated to live up to certain stereotypes can clash with those trying to escape those same stereotypes.
He’s meant to be the Orion version of worf
@@Conbom3 Except Worf did learn and practice to be Klingon.
Sure he is known for getting his asses kicked, but he also beat the snot out of Dominion gladiators in POW camp (plus he did won Bat'Leth Tournaments).
@@powerist209 Oh yeah totally but this show is meant to be sorta taking the piss a bit
@@powerist209 He also is responsible for the death of both of K'mpec's possible successors. He's really an inverted Worf. Worf being raised by humans led him to study, and be more Klingon than most Klingons. Meshk just faked it. Also Orions aren't really that open with their culture and they let stereotypes and and myths about them persist in order to amplify their prestige and threat, while also keeping people from having any actionable intel on their operations. Meshk not being raised by Orions would therefore never get to learn about things inside "the family".
Tendí is my favorite character
Why couldn’t Leatherman Tools make a multitool like that?
A weird part of me wants to see Tendi and Mariner fight. Though judging by this, I think Mariner would just wake up in the medbay some hours later, sore all over and Tendi apologizing profusely.
Boimler and Rutherford would get indirect vengeance for the anbo jyutsu beating though she might be conscious long enough to realize it!
sweet innocent Tendi made a enemy crew member suicide?!?!?! that's dark man.
Well that was his choice.
this scene remember us never mess with Tendi
Lower Decks has made the Orions so awesome that now it's a mystery how they haven't conquered their entire quadrant.
yeah, is sad how Star Trek has classic aliens species that they just igore while trying to focus on new ones, but Lowerd Decks has done a lot for the Orion
Ok this is... a really accurate representation of someone from Ohio
Boimler being from Modesto explains his entire character.
Bull, we are a tough bunch of people. I can’t think of a state that raises them tougher.
@@nikkkeating4055 "tough".
Right.
The state that didn't impeach a senator after he defended a pedophile and supported an attempted coup.
He had Orion parents but was adopted by an Ohio couple. He probably had a rough childhood unless someone really reeducated the people in the Ohio area. Some states are not friendly to non-white people.
The tooth remover is in case you need to feed/lure a Moopsy.
Tendi is so bad ass, she is awesome, love her
Tendi is best girl. I will be fighting all those who disagree out in the parking lot. Form an orderly line.
This was a cool scene.
So, latanum false teeth are good to keep in your pocket....
