- In this video we look at installing the resonator delete kit from Progressive Parts. It was difficult to lift the car off the ground high enough, so we took the car over to Darren @MagnumPerformance in Enfield, London.

How many of the s3 gang have got this one planned?
I have plans to play around with the exhaust too (allthough it's a 35tfsi, not s3) and possibly having one custom made (i was thinking about buying milltek but they only have one for the s3)
Do you happen to have a 'before' clip? Makes it easier to compare 🤣
@@sigideridder6665 lol I did, but it got corrupted! This one was a nightmare to film. The static revs in standard form can be see from my other video where I changed the exhaust flaps to always stay open.

Hi, after the res delete did you try the car with valves always open, too? How was the sound? Did you try an Opf S3 8v , too? Curious about the sound difference between the two. I prefer the 8v for quality and design (had one pre f.l. for 5 years and 130k kilometers)
How have you managed to get it loud from that I have done the same and it sounds no different
How has this affected everyday use? I.e. does it have annoying drone on highways?

Looking into whether i should do a res delete or buy a cat back exhaust. Obviously price-wise the difference is big.
I'd like to have the ability to stick it into comfort and have it sound "confy" , avoid droning while gaining a good amount of volume when in dynamic.
What would you suggesr ? How's droning and how does the car react in comfort mode with res delete ?

I have a Borla cat back on my 8v s3. Comfort mode is louder but subtle. Switch to dynamic and the valves open up to some beefy sounds. Burbles too even with stage 1 unitronic.
Which res delete kit?
Is there something your supposed to do to make the pop and bang work? My S3 was doing it the first two day of ownership and now it wont?
I'd it a brand new car? Will take a while for the exhaust to bed in. Sometimes a few thousand miles
@@CRD90 It is, I found my issue actually. Had to cycle back to dynamic for the crackle to work again.

If possible I would love a video on the optional Dash cam functionality (universal traffic recorder 2.0), front and rear camera (currently an option for 779.00 GBP)

Thanks James - appreciate the kind words. Unfortunately I've not got that installed on my car nor do I know anyone who has.
Based on research I decided it was better to purchase a non Audi dashcam which had better benefits and cost £100!
There will be a video up soon looking at the install process.

Can you give me OE part number from Stock rezonator please?
do you always get the loud pops while driving or does it vary with normal pops to "louder" pops?
It varies depending on the amount of overrun or unburnt fuel in the exhaust
@@CRD90 does it increase or decrease necessarily with the res delete? I’ve got the car now stock and it happens occasionally. I want to find a way to get those specific pops noises more often because they are insaneee when they do happen.

Do you get the pops and bag straight away after the pipe fitted and also are the bang very loud?
Usually they get louder with time once the exhaust is worn in. I would say over a 1,000 miles. Yep pretty loud but not too anti-social 😊

I used the same kit on my 8v. I waited until it had done around 1000 miles. Went back into Audi for services without any issue and then put the resonator back in when it went back to Audi after the pcp was up. I was surprised at first how much of a difference it made. It was much louder than stock.

I'm in Belfast and the dealer is saying a 6 month wait dies this sound wright at the minute? ✌
Feels about right, but I have seen some owners take up to 9 months to get there order!
I do think it depends on the dealership placing the order too, they might have greater priority etc

It depends lol, so it should only be on the exhaust itself not on the rest of the car.
Saying that in some countries Audi have offered this as an optional extra in the past.
I personally wouldn't worry about it.

Those were natural bud, no tune.

I’ve had a nasty rattle coming from my bang and olufsen speakers front two doors. Dealers added some sound deadening tape which made it a bit better but it’s still there. Any suggestions?
Hmm I would take it back to them it should not be doing that and I've seen it can be fairly common.
I'm guessing you did not have the music turned up etc? If so then they would need to fix that.
@@CRD90 yeh it does it more when the music is turned up but even on low volume the rattle is there. It’s so frustrating because I payed extra for the comfort and sound pack and what’s the point if I can’t even enjoy the speakers properly.
@@armaaniqbal8425 agreed, my second 8Y started doing the same but by then I'd got fed up of the car so it was on its way out
@@CRD90 also have a gear selector lever fault! This s3 is giving me problems now. Such a shame because I love the car so much.

Yep completely stock exhaust, just a Res delete.
It does depend from what I've seen on how many miles your car has done, I think the more you do the more worn in the exhaust becomes so it sounds a lot better. So for example a 1,000+ mile car will sound better than a 100 mile.

The funny thing is today I also had my car resonator deleted then saw the video and I was like I knew it it would be a good idea 😂. But I also thought you are some kind of spies.

Well Audi have just confirmed my fears. There is indeed a shortage of micro chips. I ordered my Audi in March. They don’t even have a build date as yet. They say it will be after week 28 ( July 12th ). Then however long it takes to build. Only one company on the planet makes these chips ! unbelievable. Now there a global shortage for anything with a pcp unit. Got offered a Q2 but that looks like a ww2 mini tank minus the cannon. No choice but to wait I suppose 😒

Just some silly question. Do European versions of S3 have same exhaust pope bend or different? I mean, does UK bought res delete pipe will fit European (German) version?
That's a good question, I would assume so as the engine and exhaust layout shouldn't change depending on if it's a LHD or RHD car.
I can only go off my supra, but for that the exhaust layouts are the same I believe.
If only my s3 wasnt on finance and I could try all these mods myself... 😞
Supposedly reversible, this car in the video is on finance too. Stranger yet is on the previous s3 generation you could request a Res delete from factory!
Of course, don't take that as me guaranteeing it won't effect the finance agreement etc as I'm pretty sure Audi will notice it when it goes in for a service, whether they care or not will be another thing.
Mines due for delivery mid September, so should I ring audi and ask them whether they can do the res delete from factory?
@@armaaniqbal8425 you can ask, although I've not seen it down as an option on this generation.
Might be something to do with EU regulations that it has to have one.
Easy enough to solve once you've got the car though 👍🏽
@@CRD90 I literally just called up and asked😂 They said no, not something we can do on this generation s3 because of EU regulations etc. Hopefully, when it arrives I'll get this resonator delete sorted. Will it void warranty though?
@@armaaniqbal8425 I believe it would only ever void warranty on that part of the car for example the exhaust system (which is crap anyway! Lol)

Yep, it's not environmentally related only removes sound deadening.
On previous generations you could request it as an optional upgrade!
You can also reverse it when it comes to sell etc.
