A little banana boat. Love the different colors. 💕
😊
Phil. I don’t think I would ever question your decision on how to turn a piece. I may not exactly like a project after it is finished. but I think I am always learning from you.
Thank You. Great job
Thank you, Dave! 😊
Love the colours and the thickness of the bark - another great outcome. Thanks again Phil.
😊
You're the master. If you like it, we like it. How could we not?
Haha, thank you, John! 😊
Natural edge and natures art. Just love your treatment of the different woods. Happy turning Phil.
Thank you, Colin! 😊
I love the chunky edges. Keep doing it "your" way. Sooooo much better!!!!!
OK, thank you! 😊
Every one of your pieces are to fall in love with. I will look out for your next one
Thanks, Erik! 😊
19:32 - a somewhat puzzled baby panda!...beautiful piece
😊
You are right everyone has different tastes ,this is not what I do but it is still beautiful as mother nature intended 😂
Cool, thanks! 😊
I enjoy these videos Phil - you throw convention to the winds and show us the alternatives.
Thank you, Jim! 😊
I've been a doll collector and crafter forever. (70 now). I see cradles in many things I see. That bowl would be an awesome Eskimo baby bed with a fur blanket under them.
Cool! 😊
It's beautiful ❤️ nice shaped!
I absolutely love that you follow your own way, I really like the natural edge bowls that you do, beautiful work Phil
😊
To heck with the naysayers. You do you! Everything you turn is beautiful! Love the shape and inclusions! Thanks Phil!
OK, thank you, Brenda! 😊
Chunky is good! Another lovely piece.
😊
When other turners like to bring you a piece of wood no mater how large or small, it apereas you enjoy the challenge of making into a beautiful piece of ART , and this time was no exception.. Leave me your dirty laundry you will make it into something to be proud of and have an award winning when finished!!!! Excellent turning. MY turn will be coming soon.
Cool, Howard, thank you! 😊
The tooth in the gum bowl. Well done Phil 👍🏻
😊
Доброго времени суток Фил. Умелые руки, хороший инструмент, позитивный настрой, получится произведение искусства. И не столь важно, какая была заготовка. Вы молодец. Спасибо за видео.
Большое спасибо! 😊
The right choices were made again. Another great addition to your family’s collection. On a low profile I think it looks a little like an Eskimos dog sled
Cool, thanks, Douglas! 😊
Very interesting features. Happy you saved the branch. Three difference colors also liked.
Great, thanks, Russ! 😊
Chunky! That's how most of my bowls turn out!
😊
I love the that you preserve the great features in your pieces. The branch with live the edge is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us. It’s beautiful.
You are so welcome! 😊 Thanks for watching!
Never seen that wood before, its amazing. Almost as much as the finished product. Even had company to go with it.
Thanks, Bobby! 😊
Beautiful bowl Phil 👍. Love the contrasting colors in this piece of Siberian Elm. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Scott! 😊
Very nice again Phil. Thank you for sharing. I hope to see you next week
I'll be here, see you then, Albert! 😊
“We’ll put finish on the bark,
And watch it get dark!”
Phil, you are a poet,
And don’t even know it!
Thanks for all the enjoyment you give.
(edited to correct autocorrect. 🙄)
LOL! Nope, I didn't catch it! 😊
Beautiful! I really like how you respect the wood and let it tell you what it’s going to become in your talented hands. ❤
Thank you, Beverly! 😊
Beautiful bowel. Keep on with the natural look. Perfect
Missed that bit !
Thank you, I will 😊
Love the remains of the stubby part! ❤
😊
Another gorgeous piece Phil. The yellow sap wood makes the bowl pop.
Thank you for sharing.
Glad you like it, Carl, thank you! 😊
Well Phil, like my dad always said about things bettern' the last, this bowl is the "betterest" yet! Gorgeous colors, shaped and finished to perfection. Best wishes, Rick.

The color contrast is great in this bowl. The shape is pretty dang cool. Great job once again.
Thank you, Dale! 😊
Never heard of that type of wood before. But it's gorgeous Phil. Love it!!!
It is! Thanks, Laura! 😊
Its a beautiful bowl, Phil! I love the color contrasts, like you said, its a really pretty feature. And I LOVE that you left that little bit of branch and bark inclusion.
You didnt need to under cut the inside edges, dont let anybody try to change your way of doing things-you just keep doing YOU! Thats why we watch YOU!❤
Thank you for your kind, comment, Texana! 😊
Way to go Phil two thumbs up I like it Blessings
😊
Howdy! Great job Phil! Lovin the tri-color. 👍 🤓
😊
Great looking bowl. Love the 3 different colors. Bold separation between each one. Reminds me of my avocado wood. Have a great weekend Phil
Thank you! You too! 😊
I really Like this natural edge bowl and that you take the care to save all the beauty of it. Great bowl!
Thank you, Linda! 😊
Not sure why...I thought of a slipper. Great little bowl. I love the wood. I guess I have wood envy of all the different species you have, lol. By the way, I was gratified to see your face. I miss that. When I first found your videos,we would get to see your smile. I appreciate that you may think it's about the wood, the turning . Or maybe you're just humble and don't need to be in front of the camera. But no matter what, I'm glad to see your face from time to time, and I bet I'm not alone! Makes me look forward to Thursdays.
Thank you, Steve! Haha, I try not to scare the women and children any more than I have to! 😊
That's an interesting little bowl with some excellent color and details... well turned as always.
😊
What a beauty! If Bob Ross were still with us, he might call it another Happy Accident🥰
😊
Viv and I really like this one ❤what a beautiful bowl thanks for sharing
Thanks so much 😊
Lovely bowl Phil, beautiful color and I really like the shape, well done and thanks!
Cheers Al
Glad you like it, Al, thank you! 😊
The only thing I see in that bowl, is a lot of M&Ms or maybe some of that popcorn you got. Great job Phil, I love the shape an texture of the bowl.
Thanks, Fred! 😊
Pretty slipper bowl Phil, love the colours. 🤗👍
Thank you, Jude! 😊 Cheers!
🙋♂️🏴 Hi Phil a really fantastic bowl beautiful shape and colours. It's great to leave all the strange and wonderful shapes that mother nature created. Oh by the way it was nice to see you in person, normally I only get to see your fingers and chest.
Glad you enjoyed it, John, thank you! 😊
That's a beautiful bowl! The colors of the wood is amazing.
Thank you very much! 😊
Very nice, Phil. Fully agree with the end result. Chunky works in this case.
Thanks, Hubert! 😊
Looks great, Phil. The bark reminds me of a turtle shell pattern and color and the unique shape of the bowl reinforces that for me. The colors of the wood are very unique as well.
Thank you, Tom! 😊
That one is a real beautiful piece Phil! Love the contrasts and grain in the piece!
Thanks, Cap! 😊
Kind of reminds me of a bear paw. Another great piece Phil!! Those colors are awesome!👍🙂
Thank you, Ron! 😊
Wow Phil, this beautiful bowl has so much character. Really love this bowl.
Great, thank you, Jean! 😊
Nice one Phil..You have inspired me to not cut up the black walnut log and do it in live edge. The bark on that log is nice too. Keep on turning Phil.
Cool, thanks, Charlie! 😊
Another gorgeous bowl Phil. U always do such a fine job. Thx and take care.
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful...Back in the Day there used to be Nut Bowls that would make an appearance around the Holidays...A lot of your live edge bowls make me think of my Mothers Nut Bowl:)
Thank you for taking me down memory lane:)
Cool! Thanks, Becky! 😊
How very cool to get a natural tri-coloured bowl!! That's another wood I've never seen or heard of, but it sure looks great. Nice job Phil! Thank you. Cheers, Rick
That's to my generous viewers, we all get to see sooo many different kinds and varieties of wood. I feel very fortunate, Rick! 😊
I'm partial to chunky pieces myself, Phil. I love the coloring of this bowl
😊
Good morning, Phil.
It's going to be a great day. The wood landed bark side up. Excellent bowl and video.
Howdy, Ray! 😊 Thanks and have a great day!
That Elm came out wonderful. I like 1883 and my favorite is 1923 waiting for season 2.
😊
Phillllllllll you ate most of tge popcornnnnnnnn. Oh wow but really most would do the same
Love the end result!
LOL! Thank you, Nanny! 😊
You really get to turn some interesting species....beautiful work again..😊
I sure do, Robert! Thank you! 😊
This one has a very different outer shape than most, I really like it. The 7 year old says it looks like a burger without the top bun.
Haha, it kinda does! 😊
Hello Phil the piece of Siberian Elm Wood is really wonderful I love the colour of the layer of sap and the colour of the wood is beautiful the grain is brilliant. It was nice to see Dave. The bark is really beautiful im glad you kept the edge thick so you could keep the branch and the inclusions as they make the piece. The Tri - Colour live edge bowl is magnificent and unique. Thank you for an amazing video you are amazing masterwoodturner. All the best love you Amanda xx❤❤
Many thanks, Amanda! 😊
It was really cool to put a face to the name Rick has sent me pieces in the past! He truly is a kind person!
You did an awesome job with this piece Phil. So glad you shared it with us 👍
Very cool, Luie, thank you! 😊
Thanks for sharing your esthetic choices.
😊
Eyup Phil. Theres another beautiful beautiful piece right there Sir. I'm not doing a lot at the moment with health issues etc. Really hope you're OK and keeping well. Take care Phil.
Get better soon, Kev and thanks! 😊
That is really pretty, Phil! Thanks!
Cheddar/ bacon popcorn huh? I absolutely have to order some of that!
Haha, oh, it was good, Kelly! 😊
I enjoy hearing your design thoughts for the process!
Cool, thank you, Eileen! 😊
What a great piece!
Greatly appreciate your insight and reasoning of your turning(s).
Of the Best!
Thank you Don! 😊
Look at those two eyeballs sticking out of the bark 👀
I will have to take another look, MaryBeth! 😊
You cut one off and part of the other…..
Everytime I watch you are turnin out a bowl I think of Forst Gump: Momma always said life is like a box of choclate. you don't know what you got until you bite into it. The bowl that come off that lathe are really a work of art. Every time you put a piece of fire wood on that lathe, I wonder what is Phil going to find int this wood. I really enjoy watching you work you magic..
Thank you very much, Edward! 😊
Very nice piece and it reminds me that it was a while since I made a live edge bowl. Thanks for the reminder! 😊
You are so welcome! 😊
Nice work Phil, Great colour and grain difference between the three layers
Thank you! 😊
I like this one, looks like a piece of art to me. Good job.
Thank you, Tim! 😊
Another beautiful piece Phil nicely done as always,
Kind regards From will 👍 😊
Thank you, Will! 😊
I've always been of the opinion that thinner is better, but your logic about undercutting made perfect sense. I hope i would have made the same decision! Thanks, Phil, another great video!
Thank you, Tim! 😊
I don't understand why anyone would be telling you how to make your art
I love what you do
Thank you, Maurine! 😊
Phil a cracking wee bowl and I think the chunky bark areas add to the look of the piece, great job well done.
Glad you like it, Alan, thank you! 😊
The branch looks like an old Troll leaning on a staff and the "Y" looks like a bird of prey flying at you out of a storm.
😊
I've watched a lot of your videos but not all of them. This is the first time I've seen your face in front of the camera. Not saying that's good or bad, just nice to put a face to the guy shaping the wood. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Brock! 😊 I try not to scare the women and children too often.
Great piece Phil. Beautiful work. Always excited to see your videos ❤
Thank you! 😊
Beautifully turned. The colors remind me of some of the white mulberry I have turned off my tree here at my home. Yellow, purple, of course brown. Beautiful bowl as always!
Sounds great, Madonna! 😀
An excellent result again, Phil, I love it!
Thank you, Richard! 😊
Great job, I really appreciate your narration during the videos and appreciate your style of turning. I typically turn with thinner walls but like your work too
Thank you! 😊
My first thought was "cereal bowl for somebody on a diet" (My next thought was "must be time to go get some dinner.") As always, really beautiful, thanks for sharing!
Haha, I'm like you, always thinking about what's for dinner! 😊
Good morning Phil.
Two people I need to thank and they are Dave for giving you this piece and Mother Nature for making the wood in the first place.
It is absolutely wonderful Phil.
I love the 3 colours.
Take care my friend.
Cheers, Huw 🫖🫖🫖🫖
Yup, I couldn't do this stuff without people like Dave, Huw! I'm so fortunate! Thank you, buddy! 😊
It’s funny, if I see someone pouring apoxy I will leave that video and look for one of Phil’s live edge videos. Love your work Phil
Thank you, Marc! 😊
Looks great 👍
Thank you, Bobby! Cheers! 😀
That is beautiful Phil! I love the shape, the colours, the branch and especially the bark. The bark is so very interesting and I like that there is so much of it. Very nice piece, one of my favorites.
Very cool, Karen, thank you so much! 😊
Another beauty! Thank you for sharing!
😊
Really nice, Phil. I'm glad you addressed the issue with undercutting. I was wondering but now I know. You're a great teacher.
Bill
Thanks, Bill! 😊
Very nice, as a new tuner I have learned a lot from watching you. Keep it up!
Glad to hear it! 😊
Mother Nature works pretty hard adding colors to her creations so it’s nice that you do your best to highlight what is there for all to see. Without you sharing your work we might never realize the beauty in nature. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you kindly, Betsy! 😊
Another piece that Mother Nature wanted us to see, thank you Phil for sharing it with us all, good job my friend…..
Thank you, Garry! 😊
Oh my the colors! Elm is so pretty, too bad we don't have a lot here in the states anymore. Another beautiful piece,Phil.
Thank you, Jane! 😊
Gorgeous bowl and love all the different colors.
Me too, thanks, Marge! 😊
