    Great to see you back! I almost reached out a couple times to make sure you were doing alright but I convinced myself that you must be doing the smart thing by taking a social media break. I don't know how you ever kept up with the video every week pace to begin with. As always, I'm looking forward to the videos......whenever they may arrive. Cheers!

      Thanks man. Part of the fun is the consistency a bit. But you're right, after while a break is good to change things up and develop new ideas. I've got some, but I'm really looking forward to a more casual approach too.

    The fun of our hobbies for ourselves is always the most important! As someone just starting out with a UA-cam channel I find myself getting caught up occasionally in things I have to do “for the channel” when the reality is it’s my hobby, not my job, and it likely never will be lol always keep it fun! Whatever you do 🤘🏻

      You got it man. 100%. Hobbies are so fun in general. I've got some new ones on the list for 2025: I want to build performance RC cars and race them, lol. I also want to see if I can put together a streaming setup too. I think that would really fun. Last month I renovated a room in the house to be the ultimate rec room, and I setup a spot that could grow into that.

    Welcome back dude. Taller windscreen is the way to go. Safe travels man.

      Thanks man. I'm really pumped to take the bike out for a long journey now. I'll be hungry for one when the next season starts too.

    Thanks for the update. I completely feel ya on pumping out videos just to do it. Uuugh and I’ve hated that. I think your making the right call and focusing on enjoyment and time and everything else comes into place after that.

      It's totally different for everybody. Some people have a crazy good ability to just put stuff (good stuff) out there on the regular, others choose not too.
      I've always loved your stuff. I can tell you've got passion behind your work for sure. It's energetic and it's satisfying. I'm always rocking the Moto Cades Tshirt.

    Mods? Klx Jet kit, Lexx slip on exhaust K&N air filter or UNI. The Fox might breathe a bit better. I guess I'm always thinking about air restriction due to my life long battle with asthma.. Glad to see your back in the garage with the Fox content and ready to ride and upload on your terms. Thanks for not going anywhere! Ride On Brother.

      Thanks man! I'm looking forward to the more casual schedule for sure. I'd like to get a new exhaust, but also, head to tow brand new (good) riding gear. Hopefully before spring.

    I'm honestly more surprised you're only just now getting a taller windscreen with your height, man. That's been one of the first things I've done with all of my rides and I'm pretty sure you're even taller than I am!

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah I held off mostly for off-roading and camera angle. I'll certainly swap it with the old one before hitting the trails though. All the bushwhacking and tree limbs out there would scratch up the new one really bad. But man is it ever nice on the road. So much less wind.

    Nice upgrades. I haven’t ridden much this year either. Life gets in the way and that’s ok.

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  Місяць тому +1

      Absolutely true. I think one of my most favorite rides this year was a long morning ride by myself along the coast in Fall. Started at 7am and ended up in Charlottetown for a coffee at Kettle Black. So chill. Just the right amount of chilly.

    Yessir!! Great to hear from you, and glad to hear things are good. I totally get it, I hardly took any vids on the KTM this summer, and hate to say it, but was kind of nice. Funny thing is when I recorded again, that was fun too! A hobby is meant to be just that, fun. No excuse or explanation needed brother, you do you.
    Love the look and practicality of the taller windscreen too! Foxy’s looking sharp! I think I’ll be hibernating the moto soon, no snow here yet, but the winds have changed. I think an ATV would look great in your garage, plus PEI has beautiful ATV trails… as you know, lol.
    Cheers man, and keep well!

      A wheeler would be a welcome addition to the garage. With trail just up the road, I've thought about it many times. Thanks for the kind words man. Hope you have a great off season. Cheers!

    I hear you there. It's hard to keep the grind up for youtube, especially as life and priorities change. I'm shifting to spending more time riding with my son as he enjoys it now which means more single track. He isn't interested in dual track, atv trails at all. So more hartsville for us next year. I would love to do the harescramble again but we will see.

      Yeah I saw the pics from turtle mountain. For me, UA-cam, riding, and all that goes along with it has been a hobby, and I've learned that sometimes if you lean into a hobby too much, it stops being fun, and starts to become work. So I'm excited to have this stay as the fun hobby it's always been.

      I saw the zero G one. It looks really sharp. My long legs needs a tower of a windshield to work though. Cheers!

    thanks for the update! great to hear from you. maybe use rivnuts in the tail rack plate and threaded knobs through the case?

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  Місяць тому +1

      Today I learned what rivnuts are. lol. Thanks for the suggestion. Between this and the link I got from Garth I think I have a plan. Cheers!

    One thing I find that helps, is if I have some ideas, or if I’m creating from trips, is to spend a day and get it done! Once they’re edited and uploaded (which I COMPLETELY understand takes a ton of time, even more so now lol) then some of what we may perceive as “pressure” to post is gone!

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  29 днів тому +1

      That feeling is great eh? For me I love the production aspect of all this. I went to Journalism school waaaayyyy back and I didn't really like the industry all that much. So now I do other things. But I always had ideas for a show, or a segment for television. UA-cam has always been the outlet for that creativity that I felt I could never have.

    Nice job. I have a gen 3 and one of the best cheap mods you can do in my opinion is a taller windshield or a windshield riser. I added an Amazon cheapy riser and it works awesome to minimize buffeting at highway speeds.

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  Місяць тому

      Yeah man, the wind difference with this windshield is unreal. I can't wait to go on a longer ride out of province with it.

    Snow.....Snow....how dare you say a four letter word....😁😁. Great update and it reminded me of your request for a picture of my new toy...email on the way. Garth

      I'm looking forward to the snow actually. I found a wicked good trail in woods for snowshoeing. The new bike looks really really good. love it. Thanks so much for the case idea too. I like those bolts. This is definitely the solution or a part there of. Cheers brother.

      I liked that set up.....if you see your hard cases around again, let me know....don't see them anymore on princess auto....dirt racks had them last year and no more on their site. The next size to the top are too big.

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  29 днів тому

      They get moved around alot in the store. Trick is to wait for the sales. 70 dollar hard cases will go on for 40 bucks.

    I'd already ordered the dash kit for my KLR. It worked great and used that brand stuff for a few different items and they've all been amazing for the price. I also used the back roads equipment rear rack mount and really liked it but yes it wasn't cheap especially when including shipping to Canada

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  29 днів тому

      Yeah most custom racking is expensive stuff. Rightfully so though. Custom engineering comes with a price. I'm onto a solution though now. Hope you had a good ride season this year.

    Picked up a '10 XT250 when I thought my Gen One was toast. Now with both running great I use the KLR for highway and dirt roads, while using the XT for exploring offroad trails and challenging terrain. I love them both. Have you thought of getting your KLR a little brother?

    • @IslandADV
      @IslandADV  Місяць тому

      I constantly go back and forth between a second bike being a bigger or little brother. Ultimately, I think I want a KLX 300. I've eyed that one for a long time and I really want something with less weight, but still enough to cart a little gear around.
