I've had T since I got Covid in last August. These videos really help me out. I have been able to manage it really well with a good sleep schedule and exercise. Hope one day it will fade away
I got Covid early this year in March and one of the symptoms with a left ear infection, which caused my Tinnitus. Luckily the hearing loss from the ear infection was slight. I did not realize that Tinnitus originates in your brain, not your ear. It was very distressing that the ringing got worse when I was upset and that created even more emotional distress. But now knowing this , I am able to regulate my stress with white noise, exercise, breathing, etc., and bring it down to normal again. Normal being anew set point because the ringing is still there, of course, but it dissipates when I calm down. I’ve learned a lot from watching videos like this one so thank you.
Gotta be honest Ben reached out on the site - phone number, email, etc - never received an email or contact back in any form. All I received from you guys are emails about money off on maskers. Full transparency, I’m not meaning this in a rude way. I appreciate everything you guys do.
A great story well presented. But how sad is this for the medical industry that the reason so many go to Dr Google is because the medical industry has failed so many. People feel that Ent and others have let so many down. Dr Google is not always a solution but more and more are choosing it as a last resort. Those reading this in the health fields need to take note
@@Andrew-pp2ql mine was as well but that's not good enough. All he told me was to get my anxiety under control. Really??? More needs to be done. Simple.
That’s a very helpful video but, I really do need help because I can’t sleep at night with this loud noise that I have, from one to 10 I will say mine is a stage eight in those videos are very helpful. Thank you.
this guy story is very similar to mine, had T for over 20 years and it is constant and i got used to it. Until one day when covid year and BAM!, high pitch fluctuating new ring was suddenly there, it was unbearable. Thankfully took me 2 years to get it down by 70%, but it's still fluctuating though.
Dear Dr Ben Thompson, can laser therapy is used to reduce the severity of tinnitus. Also informed us can continuously used of tinnitus maskers worse the tinnitus or not?
I've had loud tinnitus for 30 years now (15-45) Today, it's on the louder side... which is why I was checking out tinnitus vids. There have been several big cons to a life dealing with it. But, in a strange way, learning internally to deal with it has helped me survive through the worst seasons of my life. Weird, huh?
I have tinnitus that sounds like rustling of stiff fabric (like taffeta), with occasional regular high-pitched tones. I am trying to adapt to it - “oh, there it us again … that’s the background of my life”.
I suffered from TTTS for around 6 months where a once or twice a week it would feel like my ear drum was thumping. This caused really bad anxiety and even after it had stopped thumping the anxiety was horrific. I think what helped me was getting my anxiety under control which is easier said than done. I've not had any TTTS episodes since May 2022, apart from every now and again I'll get one single thump. If you're suffering from this, I hope this gets better for you and if you are suffering with bad anxiety I believe this is what needs improving to help with TTTS. I still have "normal" tinnitus which I am slowly habituating to!
@@itouch2k10Thank you for the helpful advice! I do believe mine is anxiety-induced (and probably from overprotecting my ears a bit). I am hoping this goes away like yours once I work on my anxiety. Thanks for giving me some hope!
@@ahn1ad I too have same issue. My GP tells me it's severe anxiety. I'm also hoping it subsides with time. Difficult to relax. Difficult not to panic. But , I'm trying. TINNITUS as well. @@vicvic1892thank you for the kind words! I also have tinnitus, but the thumping is almost worse for me. I also believe mine is due to anxiety. I hope your tinnitus/TTTS gets better as well!
That happens to all tinnitus suffers, ear specualist tell you, they can't do anything, but they sure want you to go back for a check up knowing they not even trying to help you.
Okay - Martin's story does seem similar to my issue - 9 years assimilated well with T, and the usual habituation - but July this year I got Covid, and it all changed for me - like a different frequency and it has been rather upsetting. I have worked hard for the last 5 months trying to address my situation, but I have had to go back to masking (for sleep), which is frustrating. Never too sure masking works to be honest. I prefer 'the normal sounds' around me and that's how I have 'coped' - but alas I feel like I have 'started all over'... I guess Ben, I have been following you quite a lot at Treble Health for the last 3-4 months. I have so many questions I want to ask your experts and am prepared to look at a one-to-one consultation. I think I need to specifically look at your better 'masking' processes? I will try to connect after Christmas. Sound therapy is something I really need to focus on - Pink Noise has helped. But just unsure - I am from Australia. Thanks, Ben, for reading.
Ben, great video.. can I ask.. do you ever get many folk complaining of tinnitus either caused by or increased after having microsuction done on an ear or both ears? I'm interested in how many are suffering as my T went from a about a 3 to a 8 and hasnt ever reduced since (This was 12 weeks ago)
Hi.. I'm really sorry to hear that.. I am in the habituation phase , meaning the noise is still there and I only really notice it either when it's really quiet like first thing in the morning. That's been nearly 1 year now and I doubt it's gonna disappear now. I'm just trying to live with it and try not to focus on it. It took me a while to get to this stage. Did you have T before micro? I did but it wasn't too bad.
Love watching the success videos. It gives everyone hope until there is an actual cure for tinnitus and or hearing loss, that over time, improvement can happen and you can manage this. You have to buy in and believe in the power of the mind to change over time.
Thanks for posting this video. I have a couple questions about Martin’s tinnitus maskers. First, what delivery device was used for the maskers (hearing aids?, ear buds?, headphones?, etc). Second, can you describe the tinnitus maskers? I am asking because an audiologist had me try Widex hearing aids with fractal tones 14-16 hours per day for 6 months and I got no relief whatsoever from my tinnitus. Not seeing that audiologist ever again. However, I am wondering if a different delivery device or certain maskers (something different from fractal tones) would be worth me trying. I am somewhat pessimistic about maskers, sound therapy, etc. approaches but I also feel anything is worth trying to relieve my tinnitus. Thank you.
