For anyone reading this. I'm autistic and my hearing has always been my most sensitive senses. I got tinnitus last November. My hearing is perfect according to the GP, audiologist and ENT and I recently had my mri scan which I'm still awaiting the results of. I don't expect the mri scan to show anything abnormal, but I wanted to be sure so I can let go of any medical explanation. My tinntius is unilateral and in my right ear. It's between 8k and 10k herz and sounds like static from an electronic device. The first 2 months were barely doable for me. I don't know where to find relief and was severely depressed and riddled with anxiety. I had to take Valium to get asleep some days and I talked about how awful it was a lot. But I hope that this can serve as a positive story. Because I sit here now, in complete silence, and I can hear my tinnitus really well, but it doesn't do anything for me. I don't get emotional about it anymore. Is it still a bit annoying, yeah, but I can't change it and make it go away. I try to accept it as much as I can. I can finally sleep again with rain sounds on the background like it did before. I can follow conversations and play games, I can do everything I used to so. Even listen to music with earbuds in at 50% volume and I'm fine. I would even say my life is beter than it was than before I got tinnitus. So in a way I'm grateful it gave me the push I needed to restart my life. Do not despair if you just got tinnitus. Your brain will change over the course of months and you will be able to deal with it. I thought it was impossible too. But here I am 6 months later, writing this. Do not give up, there is so much to live for and it does get better.
@@LevaniAslamazishvili-l9u I only took Valium in the first week or 2. I don't take it now and I've gotten used to it. It is still there and I don't like it, but I can live with it. I can't state how important it is to seek distractions from the sound. That really helped so much.

I feel yeah. I was completely fine until a storm knock down power lines. National Grid had to fix all power lines. Now this one house has some high tech equipment. I wonder if it's 5G related. I was just adjusting to idiopathic ocular seizures causes double vision. I have no idea even the medical system doesn't know. I know I'm on anti-seizure meds to limit my seizures. Now all I can hear is high pitch ringing. I'm going to need hearing aids. I had no ear wax build up. I wish I can have silence for once. The only way is sound therapy.
If you read and listen, those with other health issues will have a stronger response to tinnitus. If you were anxious before, this exacerbates your response. Follow all the recommendations for clean eating, sleep, exercise, meditation and hopefully this will help with the coping mechanism.
Interesting!,I do know when I stay busy and talking to others that I don't notice my tinnitus so much, but the minute I'm in my house by myself, then I notice it.
I just find it curious that the Doctor didn't get too much into people who got their tinnitus only because of stress, for example, I got my tinnutus overnight after a very stressful day with lots of drama, very emotional, lots of fear of the future and bad emotions, it was very clear what triggered it.
I’ve found since discovering our local cicada sound masked my T well and recording them and looping through my White Noise and playing 24/7 through bone conductor headphones or head band speakers at night for about 5 months my habituation has improved a lot. Now most nights i just play the sound through my iPhone beside my bed at a low level and hardly hear it. Also days where i don’t need it or just use it part of the day have become more common. I wish the volume and tone weren’t so random, I can be having a great day where I hardly notice it then next second the volume is up to annoying even with Sound Therapy level. I have some hearing loss in left ear and that’s where the T seems to be most of the time but I also get volume change with jaw and neck movement so think maybe it’s Somatic. Knock and jaw massage can lower the level at times so I have no idea of my T cause. Just happy I’m dealing better with it and I’m having more good times, where i can ignore with or without ST, than bad where it overwhelms me. A hot shower and then relax watching something on my iPad while playing the cicadas sound is my go to when I’m at the overwhelmed level. Good luck everyone out there, hopefully before long your good sound times will outweigh the bad soon. 😊

Dr. Chris Spankovich.... your hair a problem?
I wear hearing aids all my life still end up with tinnitus
That's why what he's saying makes no sense. I've had low level undetectable tinnitus that only spike when my anxiety level increases. One would think I'd be death by now. I don't have major hearing loss so wonder why lots of people who have it haven't loss tgeir hearing?
If hearing loss is the main cause, why do some people have T without hearing loss? 😅
