    Hey Joey great vid as always, I have a question.....
    You said tie it like a chicken rig, I use a dropper loop, then cut the loop to make it a single strand, but then you referred to it as a spider hitch. Which knot do you use on your rigs?
    Second bonus question..... is the hot glue used to keep the float from sliding away from the hook? Makes sense, I've never seen that before but definitely a pro tip.

    • @JoeyAntonelli
      @JoeyAntonelli  5 років тому

      I do it the same way you do. I got mixed up on my not names. I use a loop knot and then cut one strand and tie the hook on

      Michael Morgan a wooden toothpick does the same thing, keeps the float from sliding.

    Awesome video as always. I make float hooks for my pompano rigs where I hot glue the tear drop floats on a 2/0 kahle hook with the eye just sticking out of the top of the float, then tie on. The way you do it, do you think the heat of the glue could hurt the strength or integrity of your leader?

    • @JoeyAntonelli
      @JoeyAntonelli  5 років тому +2

      Not sure. The glue gun I'm using is a kid one and it doesn't really get that hot. You can put it directly onto your skin and it is bearable. I haven't had any problems with line breaking so I guess it's all good.

  • @jackchn23
    @jackchn23 5 років тому +4

    Instead of hot glue, which can damage the line, I wedge a tooth pick in the float and snap it off. The broken piece of tooth pick does a good job keeping the float in place.

      Stupid question, are you supposed to use bait or does the pomp go after the rig just like that?

    • @jackchn23
      @jackchn23 5 років тому +1

      billn911 use bait. The rig (colors) attracts the fish to the bait (this case sand fleas).

    Great vid!!! But what type of conditions do you look for when heading out for pomps??? Water temp, wind direction or speed, before or after a front..what is the best time in your opinion?

    • @JoeyAntonelli
      @JoeyAntonelli  5 років тому +1

      I like to fish clean water with minimal current. I like both sides of the sandbar just usually not right on top of the SandBar although sometimes I can prove to be good also. The biggest thing is just finding where the big group of migratory fish are. Really help if you have a network to work with.

      If you get a commercial license you can take more. I heard about$4 a pound at market. But idk forsure. The commercial guys I have seen off shore were nailing them on the silly jig with the stinger fly attached. Yellow and white jig with a pink stinger hook added is my favorite. Some days they will hit the silly jig with out the stinger and some days they only really want the stinger attached. I have seen the ones with the stinger fly out fish the ones with out 10 to one. Some days they take both. That's fishing things change day to day. Good luck fishing 🦐🐟

    Did I miss something? This video goes from basement to reeling in fish. Doesn't show how to hook the bait or how far to cast...

    Call me old fashioned, but, I don't quite understand why you guys drag your catch all up and down the beach.Other than that, I enjoyed the video.

    Sad to see 311pope's videos all gone. Master pompano fisherman in your area and his instructional videos were amazing. He had videos of how to build massive sand flea rakes and a peg board video to tie hundreds of pompano rigs quick and fast. Do you know what happened to him? Sure you know him. Also 13 foot great white caught 2 miles off fort lauderdale today and many many big ones pinging off your area at www.ocearch.org

    Can you tell when you are overdriving your audio? I can tell on this end because it sounds like crap. Try turning your theme music down about 50%...

      One person commercial fishing with proper licensing. Every fish is accounted for and they can be shipped all over.

      In this video you shower a container of small floats. Where can I get them?

    • @JoeyAntonelli
      @JoeyAntonelli  4 роки тому

      Those are just a mixture of floats from all over. Tackle stores and craft stores.

      I didn't eat any of these. They are all sold to the market. That's how people eat fish at restaurants or when they buy it at the store.
