"....and with the millions of souls sacrificed to the Chaos Gods, Abaddon is now gifted with the dark blessing he had longed for all these millenia: A new pair of arms.
I love how Kyras goes and says "do not think this is my weakness" long after he made it blatantly obvious! There were many great quotes in this but the real bad-ass has to be the Chaos Dreadnought; "Back to the eye weakling!". It sure gave Kyras what for in the end methinks :D
Storywise, this mission seems kinda unsatisfying for everyone but the Blood Ravens. All other factions, the story is focused on someone completely unrelated to you while you do the real work.
Eliphas should have respect for the Blood Ravens given that they've beaten him at least two times, once with him at the head of a massive Word Bearers army on Kronus.
Eliphas: Araghast once thought I would be an assist to his cause, look to what has happened to him. Kryas: I'm a daemon you idiot, you can't kill me. Neorth: Besides, we both know the real reason you won't join him is because Abbadon's sorcerers will fry you brain. Eliphas: Shut up! Neorth: Shall I remind you that the Exterminatus across the sector is under way this very moment. Eliphas: Well Abbadon didn't say he would kill me, so it's probably nothing.
@DrMlieko - Depends which way you look at it. Necrons are really just slaves - the C'tan are the smart ones, as they are pulling the Necrons' strings. Orks know exactly where they are in the universe. They don't mind being used as others' (normally Eldar) pawns, because as far as they are concerned their sole aim is to prove they are the hardest bastards in the universe, and so far they've done a pretty good job, even if it means fighting each other.
Eliphias suggested the same thing. However the reason is because Abaddon didn't want to be usurped in the eyes of the Chaos gods since Eliphas had also pledged the souls of the Blood Ravens to Abaddon as payment for his resurrection while Kyras wanted to offer the entire Blood Ravens chapter as a sacrifice to Khorne. Abaddon did not want to be denied of the prize Eliphias had promised which is why Abaddon ordered Eliphias to stop Kyras.
* Eliphias was bound to Abaddons service and he had absolutely no choice but to obey his orders. Though you do wonder if Khorne himself might be a little pissed off that he was denied the offering of the entire blood ravens chapter :P
Damn Steve Blum's voice is sexy. Eliphas sounds very much like Starscream from the Transformers Prime series he ALSO voices. Which is also fitting, as both as traitorous bastards.
I really think that in all of the DoW games, it's only really Khorne and perhaps, a little bit of nurgle here and there. I mean, Slaanesh is only mentioned once, and Tzeentch is not even mentioned! I fear GW has alot to answer for... "PLOT, FOR THE PLOT GOD!!!!! FATE, FOR THE FATE THRONE!!!!! LET, THE GALAXY, CHAAAAANGEEEEE!!!!!" - Kyras if GW had gotten their heads out of their respective asses and logically thought that, oh i don't know... KHORNE HATE'S PSYKERS?!!! "DRUGS FOR THE DRUG GOD! SMUT FOR THE SMUT THRONE! LET, THE GALAXY, RAAAAAPEEEEE!!!!!" - Some perverted cultist trying to get laid/attention in the face of, TZEENTCH, CHANGER OF WAYS. Dehaka fully approves of of Tzeentch's perspective on everything, "Change, is good" is all he says.
@DrMlieko That pretty much sums it all up actually. But the necrons, they follow.. well. I'd think they would follow some sort of instinct comparing to Tyranids, which is 'KILL ALL LIFE' but, they have gods that are much like chaos, just far more refined and much older.
@trololol12356 I think it's because Kyras was sacrificing billions of souls of an entire sector to Khorn. Such a tribute would have made him uber powerful. He might have probably become more powerful than a greater daemon. Also Ulkair wasn't at his full strength. Remember he was weakened in CR. They also probably hastidly resurrected him to quickly fight Kyras, so he only had a fraction of his full power.
eliphas liked gabriel too...its similar to the joker/batman relationship in the dark knight, although they would kill eachother if given a chance..but still...
@TheGuwntheen It's not really. The Chaos warbands tend to fight each other when given the reason, sometimes they even fight members of their own legion.
Eliphas the Inheritor: "The secrets of Araghast die with me" Force Commander Aramus: "Who? 😏" Eliphas the Inheritor: "You killed him! How do you not remember? Shut up! JUST, SHUT UP! You don't even talk and nobody knows your name, so shut up. Next to Araghast you are nothing!" Force Commander Aramus: "He kinda died like a bitch, tho"
No. Khorne is Khorne. Kyras becase a Daemon Prince of Khorne. Which means that he got enough favour from the Blood God to ascend. And even though Eliphas and Kyras both serve Chaos, they are different factions. Different factions tend to fight each other for various reasons They're not one united group like the Imperium is.
@TheScreamingGoblin that applies for any strategy games u always get the obvious weaknesses and that shall be your objective before your final blow......i dont know whats that funny since it happens in any strategy game with boss fights.
@Haloister Not just nurgle. He is a member of the Black Legion, and before that, the Word Bearers. They are pan-chaos legions. He dedicates his services to every god.
The End battle was too easy imo because you could basicly lay tank fire down from that cliffs. Kyras couldn't reach you and you could keep firing at him with tanks forever...
See what I don't understand is the fact that Eliphas still think Kyras is a chapter master of the Blood Ravens. When, in fact, he turned to heresy. Why does he still savor the kill of a traitor?
Technically, Kyras never relinquished his position, but most within the Blood Ravens are either oblivious or have already turned. As for Eliphas, the deal he made with the Despoiler was to offer the souls of the entire chapter as his bargain to have his flesh restored. Logic is pretty "eh", but based on the wording, that means every last Blood Raven, which includes Kyras.
You might already know this by now but what brought Eliphias into confrontation with Kyras was an earlier bargain Eliphias had made with Abaddon. You see Eliphias had pledged the Blood Ravens souls to Abaddon but this would be complicated by Kyras pledging the souls to Khorne. Eliphias actually did say to Abaddon why not just let Kyras wipe them out? Abaddon however was having none of it. He would not stand for being usurped in the eyes of the Chaos Gods as Eliphias had already promised him their souls. So Kyras was a threat to their bargain and the other thing was it was Abaddon that brought Eliphias back. If not for that Abaddon probably wouldn't have cared what Kyras did.
I din’t get it... Why is the black legion fighting Khornate forces? Edit: Don’t those icons at the top left mean the following? Chaos Undivided Tzeentch’s sign The eye of HORUS Nurgle’s Sign
Giant Turtle Cat Eliphas works for Abandon. Kyras is trying to upstage Abandon and seemingly has taken control over a Black Legion Warband, so Eliphas was sent to kill him.
these alpha legion are fighting the blood ravens, and abaddon sees the need to take their souls instead of letting them go to khorne. he would also get kyras's Uber powerful soul if eliphas kills him. abaddon and his great plan to foil the chaos gods as a chaos undivided champion.
I thought they were the Black Legion. Wasn't Alpha Legion infiltrators (with the exception of "Metal Boxes" Carron the Bloodthirster-possession fodder's forces), and Black Legion led by Abaddon?
It is unclear yet. This ending is not 100% canon, since Gabriel managed to survive. Most probably Eliphas died again, and canonical ending is SM/IG/Eldar (since they are not that contradictory).
"....and with the millions of souls sacrificed to the Chaos Gods, Abaddon is now gifted with the dark blessing he had longed for all these millenia: A new pair of arms.
*Abaddon the Grafted*
That was perfect timing.
*Casts the kill Kyras button*
Chaos Deadnought: BACK TO THE EYE, WEAKLING!
Kyras' death is counted as a genuine unit kill and it can trigger voice lines. In my case just now, Eliphas said "skulls for the skull throne!"
Kyras: If you destroy the towers I can be killed...
Eliphas: thank you bro I didn't knew that!
"Though it appears I will never meet the great Gabriel Angelos in battle... why does everyone keep telling me I sound like him anyway?"
I love how Kyras goes and says "do not think this is my weakness" long after he made it blatantly obvious!
There were many great quotes in this but the real bad-ass has to be the Chaos Dreadnought; "Back to the eye weakling!". It sure gave Kyras what for in the end methinks :D
+AlphaArgonian I wish Chaos Terminators were in any of the dawn of War games.
I think there are Chaos Dreadnoughts in the Ultimate Apocalypse mod for Soulstorm. That mod is awesome and you should try it.
Eliphas was lucky to not meet Gabriel in battle.
I love how they saw the opportunity for unique dialogue for the CSM and took it! now there's some special effort you don't see in games these days
Kyras: (breaths fire) great unclean one and chaos dreadnought: fuck that shit we're staying here
Storywise, this mission seems kinda unsatisfying for everyone but the Blood Ravens. All other factions, the story is focused on someone completely unrelated to you while you do the real work.
Gabriel is respected by Eliphas.
Shows you how badass he is.
Eliphas should have respect for the Blood Ravens given that they've beaten him at least two times, once with him at the head of a massive Word Bearers army on Kronus.
"So long as my [CONVENIENT PLOT DEVICES] are in place, I am unbeatable"
Me: Huh...... Neat.
3:51
Kyras: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
MILK FOR THE KHORNE FLAKES!!
Gabrielle must of been really confused about who was inadvertently helping him
7:14 Of course Abbaddon. That is the kind of aggressive genius thinking that lead you to not conquer Cadia 13 times.
@DrMlieko - Depends which way you look at it. Necrons are really just slaves - the C'tan are the smart ones, as they are pulling the Necrons' strings.

I still think its funny how a LIBRARIAN became a Demon acended from Khorne
Chaos Dreadnoughts say the Damndest things...
Damn Steve Blum's voice is sexy. Eliphas sounds very much like Starscream from the Transformers Prime series he ALSO voices. Which is also fitting, as both as traitorous bastards.

Tzeentchian Tyrannids?
That poor Predator arrived seconds too late to partake in the battle.
3:14 "SKULLS FOR THE SKULL!!!"
@DrMlieko That pretty much sums it all up actually. But the necrons, they follow.. well. I'd think they would follow some sort of instinct comparing to Tyranids, which is 'KILL ALL LIFE' but, they have gods that are much like chaos, just far more refined and much older.

3:51 BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! MILK FOR THE KHORNEFLAKES!!
Is that Jonah Orion at 5:27?
Yep. Poor Jonah. He was more badass than Cyrus.
Commisar Tea And he wasn't voiced by Steve-voice-everyone-Bloom
2:48 Daemons went poof
Gabriel went sleepy :3
Tzeench, Nurgle, Khorne and Slaanesh are the four.
eliphas liked gabriel too...its similar to the joker/batman relationship in the dark knight, although they would kill eachother if given a chance..but still...
Its like: Hi, I am the evil (insert here), I am indestructible, to kill me you have to do this and that...
Oh, wait, why did I tell you?
I STILL DONT GET WHY A DAEMON PRINCE IS SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN A GREATER DAEMON!!! THERE IS NO SENSE OF LORE!! AAHHH!!
@TheGuwntheen
It's not really. The Chaos warbands tend to fight each other when given the reason, sometimes they even fight members of their own legion.
2.55 wahaahah :D eliphas laugh is funny xD
I always come here, cause its so nice they mentioned Araghast in Chaos Campaign again...
@Mialisus okay, you genuinely made me laugh xDDD
Eliphas the Inheritor: "The secrets of Araghast die with me"
Force Commander Aramus: "Who? 😏"
Eliphas the Inheritor: "You killed him! How do you not remember? Shut up! JUST, SHUT UP! You don't even talk and nobody knows your name, so shut up. Next to Araghast you are nothing!"
Force Commander Aramus: "He kinda died like a bitch, tho"
When I saw Gabriel get killed, my jaw dropped.
After that, I wanted to get Kyras for killing Gabriel. I maybe Chaos, but damn it, I liked Gabriel. :(
He's not dead
+Benjamin Burdige Kyras was only fool who believed he can defeat us
@TheStargateNerd thank you :D
@DaGuyInTheCorner kyras only wants the power for himself, but the true dogs of chaos serve the dogs, offering their lives, and others, to them
So its Nurgle vs Khorne this should be . . . wow that was quick
@TheScreamingGoblin that applies for any strategy games u always get the obvious weaknesses and that shall be your objective before your final blow......i dont know whats that funny since it happens in any strategy game with boss fights.
@Anonie324 But if you remember he dedicated himself to Nurgle
Boy that Eliphas doesn't give a crap about his brother dieing. xD
@Haloister Not just nurgle. He is a member of the Black Legion, and before that, the Word Bearers. They are pan-chaos legions. He dedicates his services to every god.
@TheScreamingGoblin In the far future of the 41st millenium, there is no peace, no respite, and no concept of team chat...
Because, if he kills Kyras, Eliphas will take all the credit and transcend into daemonhood.
The End battle was too easy imo because you could basicly lay tank fire down from that cliffs. Kyras couldn't reach you and you could keep firing at him with tanks forever...
Lol.
*Great Unclean One :) Which is the Greater Daemon of Nurgle.
@Airganoth So? Doesn't mean he doesn't have them.
@Airganoth yeah Nurgle vs Tzeentch would make more sense here Tzenntch would want a psyker and eliphas is for Nurgle.
Chaos VS Chaos
hey bigdickcheney, its been a decade but did you never upload the optional mission on the judgement of carrion?
@TheStargateNerd Umm..... I think that problem.
The four chaos godd, tzeench, nurgle, khorne. And the last i cant remember. Anyhpw. They hate each other, as do their forces.
No, he is just a deamon prince of Khorne
@DrMlieko how are the necrons intelligent.
Abbadon is mortal.
5:21
Oh hai thar Jonah!
Having a nice nap?
@TheGuwntheen
Problem?
do you think that evil is one big happy family?
See what I don't understand is the fact that Eliphas still think Kyras is a chapter master of the Blood Ravens. When, in fact, he turned to heresy. Why does he still savor the kill of a traitor?
Because how often would someone get to say that they killed a Daemon Prince?
Horizen Walker because if gabriel and his SMs were destroyed that would make the blood ravens a de facto traitor chapter
@Kravockian haha lol.
Sucks there is no banter between Ulkair and Kyras
Missed opportunity there since he also slayed ulkair himself as a mortal
@@nobby3265 exactly. I think there was so much more to be done with Kyras in general.
Can anyone explain the story of CSM in DoW2 ? Why are they killing a daemon prince...
so why would eliphas want to kill kyras- he wants a warprift to open in aurelia
@10Maloy He's probably a better master than abbadon, but then he wouldn't ascend to daemonhood.
True dat
Tau
dont let them capture outr com tower!
so why did the chaos marines want to kill their own god?
You might already know this by now but what brought Eliphias into confrontation with Kyras was an earlier bargain Eliphias had made with Abaddon. You see Eliphias had pledged the Blood Ravens souls to Abaddon but this would be complicated by Kyras pledging the souls to Khorne. See how easy it is to give your enemy a good smack
Thats how we won fools
You think you can hide from me?
Pathetic puppet of your "dark gods"
+AlphaArgonian turn down for what!
Kargath Bladefist (WoD) The dark gods granted you power now destroy the alliance in THE NAME OF CHAOS
MY gods protects me unlike your false rotting corpse *laughs*
Neroth The Emperor protects the souls of the faithful! And you are not protected by your dark gods.
If they were both chaos, why couldn't they be friends? Yknow, why were they fighting?
that's Chaos for you infighting, serving the dat gods, and backstabbing is their "modus operandi"
Abbadon is the fourth.
They aren't. They're attacking Kyras.
I din’t get it...
Why is the black legion fighting Khornate forces?
Edit: Don’t those icons at the top left mean the following?
Chaos Undivided
Tzeentch’s sign
The eye of HORUS
Nurgle’s Sign
Giant Turtle Cat Eliphas works for Abandon. Kyras is trying to upstage Abandon and seemingly has taken control over a Black Legion Warband, so Eliphas was sent to kill him.
@TheScreamingGoblin Like starcraft aint in a dark universe thing or something lol.But eh w/e.
Why is Eliphas confronted the Alpha Legion?
these alpha legion are fighting the blood ravens, and abaddon sees the need to take their souls instead of letting them go to khorne. he would also get kyras's Uber powerful soul if eliphas kills him.
abaddon and his great plan to foil the chaos gods as a chaos undivided champion.
I thought they were the Black Legion. Wasn't Alpha Legion infiltrators (with the exception of "Metal Boxes" Carron the Bloodthirster-possession fodder's forces), and Black Legion led by Abaddon?
Still say blood ravens ending is the true ending
1. is this the cannon?
2. Did eliphas die?
It is unclear yet. This ending is not 100% canon, since Gabriel managed to survive. Most probably Eliphas died again, and canonical ending is SM/IG/Eldar (since they are not that contradictory).
and besides...the eldar dont fight amongst themselves...neither do tau...neither do tyranids..so...yea
actually eldar, tau, and tyranids dont fight among themselves...if thats your only point for the necrons
Did lord eliphas appeared in dow3?
That boss battle is trash. I end up sending my strongests units over and over with that weird ressource system. Well the whole campaign is like that.
Did lord eliphas appeared in dow3
@K0ragg compared to this starcraft is a lolipop forest lol
@DrMlieko Actually. Eldar aren't morons that often. Nor Tau. Morelike, Orks, Tyranid planet-scale invasions, and the cocky underbite imperials.
