Love how the heretic tank commander looks at his gun like: "Whyis it not working?!"
It’s amazing how all these regular-ass heretics thought THEY would be the ones to bring down a 4-man squad of Space Marines. Tzeentch must have dug into their heads pretty deep for them to get that deluded. 😂
“OH SHIT A SPACE MARINE!”
*bang bang bang*
“Hu-?”
*Chainsword to the jaw*
@@brian2888 I like how he says 'OH SHIT A SPACE MARINE' like he didn't know what his friends were fighting until one literally jumped into his face.
@@user-ky8du8lk7l the cultist watching the fight before his very violent end was probably thinking, “that’s a weird looking tzaangor.”
the gold standard of how a 40K series or movie should be done
Yeah, this seems almost like a test run of what an actual 40k show could be.
It's a shame what happened to Cavill's project, but maybe after seeing this, everyone can just cool their heads and focus on making a good show rather than pushing "the message". Still, maybe it's not worth risking the loss of yet another great IP to corporate maniacs.
Edit: Looks like Cavill's show is back on track. Let's hope Amazon has learned a thing or two.
@@luker2693his project is still happening according to his IG
@@luker2693is it not still in the works?
@@luker2693 Someone is late to the news, GW and Amazon finally agreed on the deal but it will take a lot of time to make the shows and such
@@Ltcoombs1it is, Henrey Cavill confirmed yesterday that GW and him came to an agreement
This combat scene all the way through was perfect. So beautifully animated and choreographed. Theres nothing more i could have wanted. Perfection, love that Syama Pederson worked on this because his vision for fights is so on point for everything i could have ever wanted.
Not a Warhammer super fan, but boy you don’t need a voiceover saying "these guys are more deadly weaponry than they are human"
Its not as janky and weird and cheap looking as GW’s animation either, and the sound effect reminded me so similar the the Astartes animation that I’m kinda convinced that Syama Pederson is actually working for that animation company rather than GW 😂😂
This! We can now clearly see his unique style and it's so satisfying to watch!
It's nice I watched this acouple times and admire how bad ass each other of them are just wrecking
@@Tiku- Based on what I heard, the creator of Astartes has worked on this, his name is in the credits and he announced it on twitter
That headbutt was personal.
His head turned so fast after that shot bounced off his head, it would have broken the neck of a lesser being. That was NEURON ACTIVATION! 😂😂
The absolute FORCE in those punches that the space marine threw was INSANE those guys died instantly💀💀💀💀
Nothing that big should move that fast… the fact they do should scare you
That's called transhuman terror and is brought up here and there in the Horus Heresy and other material.
@@dalaminaubis7822 Transhuman dread*
Power armor, transhuman physiology.
That's the black carapace for you, man and machine moving as one so long as the power pack on their back remains undamaged or things can get...cumbersome
They're faster than that in lore, they're a blur to humans. Custodes and Primarchs are even bigger and faster
TO the people wondering what would happen if Space Marine's dropped in Atoma Prime in Darktide.... here you go
So… marginally less efficient than the recruits we play as?
@@Garl_Vinland The Darktide recruits would end up becoming collateral damage during the purging of the Hive. lol
@@SolusArmaturaas the are player characters... At some point I expect they give us pleague marines super boss fight... So nah, we will kill it besides, we already killer there stuff that is FAR more dangerous than single space marines.
@@Mastercio Going by what's been seen in the lore and other media, claiming that baseline human penal conscripts kill things far more dangerous than a Space Marine is like trying to grab air with your bare hands. haha Darktide would be a completely different game with Astartes involved. The Chaos infestation might actually be resolved for one. Our Darktide characters would die off as fast as the Guardsman do in Space Marine 1 and 2. 😂
The only reason they were killed at the end is because of that Slaaneshi’s Keeper of Secret demon, a greater demon, unlike that plague worm thing in Darktide, nor the Daemonhost because that’s technically an amped up possessed psyker rather than a literal demon let alone greater demon. Although people said that the demon was Tzeentch’s demon, I don’t really buy it, the demon looked like a Slaaneshi’s, it behaved like a Slaneshi as in toying with seductively, and it’s main power is the literal description of Keeper of Secrets, and that is of fear exploitation. It literally is a Keeper of Secret, so I don’t see how that is a Tzeentch demon eventho it was perching ontop of a Lord of Change, which ironically enough is Tzeentch’s greater demon. Also note that to Tzeentch, Slaanesh is his most liked chaos god just like how Nurgle is his least liked chaos god.
The weight in the power armor's movement. The crunch of every impact and footstep. Feels good.
0:19 that pause, turn, and headbutt is my FAVORITE. 🤣🤣🤣 literally running through a truck head-on is a close second.
Love how they seem to move in normal speed and a blink of an eye they can strike with so much brutality. So much better than using slow motion to show how deadly a Startes can be.
0:44 - Good thing Leandros wasn't around to see Titus abandoning the casket of the sanctioned psyker he was in charge of hauling. The Codex Astartes definitely does not support that action.
Fucking Leandros. Smmfh
Whatever, who cares about what leandros thinks and no spoilers for space marine 2 I haven't gotten that one yet
"Know this Titus: one false step, one moment of hesitation, one flicker of here--- hey, hey, where are you going?! Yes, I see the tank too but I haven't finished threatening you!"
"Hmm you completed the mission and brought your captain with you, admirable. BUT NOW THIS you survived and encounter with a demon that killed your brothers and wounded your captain and they had iron halos while you had no protection. Thread carefully, For the stain of suspicion is hard to wash away."
@@LordKingKamiGuru FUCKING LEANDROS IS STILL A PAIN IN MY ASS 200 YEARS LATER
"Why does 40k use melee weapons" here we goooooooooooooo
Oh man, back in ye day it was like “How backwards are they” and I’m wishing I could take this video back in time and just show it instead of whatever I said back then.
BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING SICK BRO
Saves ammo really. Most of them aren’t even worth the bolter ammunition and these space marines know it.
A better question would be 'Why does 40k use melee weapons, when a simple punch clearly does more than needed' lol
0:11 that one grunt who got punch slammed into oblivion is my favorite death here
Dude manages to duck the exa swing, probably feel real good about it and just immediately gets his ribcage punched in.
I love how they made sure to capture the quick reflexes and movements. In the novels, it's often emphasized how fast Space Marines are despite their armor.
Man the choreography is cool as f. That axe swing leading in to a left hook sending the dude flying is just.. yessssss. Love the punches and the power behind them.
ikr, it's almost like he's dancing
It sucked.
@@nomore2226fake bait
watching the fighting at 2x looks about right
Biblically accurate space marines:
Humans can't fight that fast, even if Astartes do
@@chaosXP3RT you watching this video for the humans?
My brain can't keep up with their holy speed. I watch in 0.25x to fully cherish it
lmao it looks crazy at 2X LOL
This has the Astartes creator DNA all over this 😍
He was part of it
First trailer I saw I thought to myself, ah that’s where they’ve been keeping him 😂
No corny warcries, no obligatory quotes mid-combat, just pure efficiency.
never know what they may be saying on vox
@erichansen82
Definitely not the catchphrases they all know anyway
And to think. This are the ultramarines the vanilla of the astartes. (I'm biased I'm not a big fan of ultramarines 😂) imagine the others chapters approach to this
@@jackbelmont4389
Vanilla = the most stereotypical, no?
The almost robotic movements. The hard hitting punches and swings. The fucking casualness of Titus when he lands on the tank, drops the gernade, and hops off. God this is awesome! I love space marines so much!!!
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only one chapter.
tbf this is a video game anthology show, and this is a continuation of space marine 2, so it makes sense they'd be ultramarines. i do hope cavill's 40k show doesn't have so many ultramarines...he's a custodes/blood angels/salamanders fan though, so hopefully he'll be able to keep them to a minimum
Pariah Nexus and the Tithes feature the Salamanders and White Templars
@@chaosXP3RTthey also have ultrasmurfs though...
In the thumbnail I thought it was a Dead Guard first lol
Well obviously it’s the best chapter and the best color theme to represent 40k as a whole. Imagine first time viewer’s first impression on the franchise if the bright yellow Imperial Fist is the poster boys instead? They would’ve chuckled and thought this franchise was completely satire, eventhough it sort of is.
That down punch is the most humbling move I've ever seen in a fight
0:17 the fact even the other heretic looked at him lol
And people think a Spartan could take on an Astartes
0:14 that bonk on the head was brutal 😂
I think that even shook the camera. 😂
Sounded like a gunshot… :D
I'd imagine that guy looks a bit like the one glory kill in doom eternal where you bonk the zombie's head into its torso
I love how you can see Astartes' influence in so much 40k action now (both fan made and official)
0:17 he was legit mad a filthy mortal chaos worshiper hit him. Up until that point none had even scratched him.
Superhuman or not, that's gotta make your ears ring lol
He was probably mad at himself for letting the little shit pull that off.
Great job on the combat with cultists. Really get the picture and feeling that they are a nuisance more than a threat.
I like that the world building implies that they’re the descendants of stranded crew members of a that crashed frigate seen at the end, they likely fell to chaos over time and kind of devolved into these mad-max style savages after being stranded and isolated for generations.
If you’re a walking tank who can literally just run through human bodies to kill them if you wanted to, every ordinary human is just a nuisance in a fight.
Captures the brutality, speed, efficiency and sheer invincibility of a space marine. 11/10 😊😊😊
Tank commander :
-Quasi point blank shots of a .50 caliber equivalent.
-Sees no effect.
-Brain scrambles, looks at gun bewildered.
-Brain goes away from body.
That's having your mind blown away, if you ask me.
The tank commander had a bolt pistol, that's .75 calibre.
@@NastyStankyChicken Didn't know it was documented within the lore, I'll keep that one in mind, thanks mate ! (Yeah I'm quite the noob in the 40k universe, started with Dark Tide and only had read a couple extracts from the oldest book here and there at friends' and briefly exchanged on it something like 15 years ago).
Those projectile weapons don't come from the Golden Age, correct ? those would be more like super rare Volkite only made in low-production runs in select Forge-World within the core Imperium systems if my knowledge is correct.
@@Okazu84 I will say, the lore usually states ``.75`` but the models and cannon productions place the rounds at much larger, usually within the 25x50mm, sometimes larger than that for humans, the Astartes are harder to measure but definitely reach the 40-50mm diameter range! hope this helps a little, oh and no, bolters were an Imperium only invention, they were made to replace Volkite as a cheaper option
Some of the best action I've ever seen... Imagine a feature length version of this in a cinema
Imagine a movie set during the Horus heresy
It's announced that Henry Cavill is producing this faithful to the source material, it's happening!
And u believe that😂😂😂?? Hollywood always and I mean always finds a way to screw shit up @@robinsonarboleda1223
The penny drop moment when Titus was able to move against the Demon 👌
Honestly, respect to the chaos cultists who are brave enough to charge at walking tanks with sticks and stones.
If you are a regular human, don't mess with Adeptus Astartes in real life.
i'll try not to
It is possible, POSSIBLE, if you have teammates, appropriate weapons and know what you're doing. However, those are three very big ifs and most times the regular humans still lose a few even if they win regardless
I love how precise it is. The cultists are disorganized, simply rushing and swinging wildly, while the marine is already moving to obliterate his next 2 targets. It's shockingly fast, but it almost feels slow because of how decisive each move feels.
Also I like that the continuity of the squad leader having the small dent in his helmet from the bolt pistol remains for the rest of the episode.
I haven’t seen something this badass in years
This… this is what we’ve been asking for
Casually brutal. Professional. Efficient. Just like a Space Marine should be.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but that slowmo of the space marine jumping at the tank reminded me ALOT of the astartes series look and sound. From what I remember too, he got a job at games workshop. Seems he may be involved with this production, or they took great inspiration from him.
He is, he's actually credited in the animation, but I can't quite recall what his role in it was
Masters of their bloody craft. Its so surreal because to a human they are a very different breed. Great episode
So fast, so strong, so robotic, without any unesscessary movement. Artartes series make our eyes wide open from how space marine actually fight, and this episode just make it more beautiful 🎉
Fucking love the entire scene!!!! The part where he head butted the dude was hilarious.
No words. No unnecessary choreography. Only pain.
The Space Marines mean *business.*
0:12 When my siblings and i tell dad theres no beer in the fridge
Bro i NEEEEEEED this soundtrack
Let me know if you get it, I do too...
This was just a stroll in the park for these marines. The only real threat was the tank with the gatling gun, and even then it was dealt with swiftly.
When they were fighting the first wave before the tanks it looks like he was just aiming for style points
I must be doing something wrong, all I do is roll and parry
Fight Again other space marine: roll and parry
Again other thing that not big as fuck: Choo choo motherfker
I would pay to watch a full movie of this in cinemas
This is how "DOOM" should look like
When Titus ran through that vehicle oh my god 10/10 chefs kiss
Give me the axe on the heavy in game.
Ok. The headbutt and John Wick mag flick were sick.
I love how this episode with minimal dialogue still gives us a lot of story and define characters
Least brutal 40 k combat scene.
Lying 💀
I love how both thr Astartes and heretic look at the other guy for headshoting him, like both were understanding how he messed up
When Titus body checks that warbuggy.
FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
This was easily the most epic out of the eight short films.
The speed, power, and economy of motion is superb
I’m new to the 40k verse but I freaking love how badass the ultra marines are made out to be!!
Compared to many chapters Ultramarines aren't even close combat specialists. Would love to see that battle with Flesh Tearers! 😂
Did he just do the John Wick reload flick lol
I’m so thankful Amazon let the creators do their thing they absolutely cooked with portraying the astarties, they probably would’ve done all this full sprinting but we wouldn’t be able to keep up watching
Wow this is amazing. They nailed the sounds as well.
That sword to the ground, reload is 😩
Me and my nephews when they charge at me this Christmas.
There's a term/strategem in the tabletop rules for Space Marines called, "Armor of Contempt". And i get a feel for that in this. The almost contemptuous ease at which Titus and co slaughtered their foes. 😂
Your creativity really stands out!
we need a whole animated series for 40k
After this I had to make myself 9 foot tall in blades and sorcery and cut through hundreds of heretics and a few psykers
This shows the true might of how a regular human compares to a space marines
No movement overextended, every strike precise, no overexertion, truly shows why an astartes can fight so long, and how honed in they become after a few centuries. Syama's done it again
Amazing how they portrayed the Space Marines here. Nearly unstoppable agents of death willing to die in the name of the God Emperor. This was glorious to watch.
Beautiful episode! Weird to see Titus in something where he isn't the main character. Also, I was amazed to learn that Metaurus wasn't voiced by Idris Elba. Sure sounded like him.
Whoever was responsible for the choreography needs to be on the Amazon show team.
And imagine now, that Adeptus Custodes would do the same with the Space Marines what Space Marines did here with those heretics 💀
That was hard........amd then i shed a tear at the end
If only they made movies or shows for all the episode that was shown in secret levels. All the episode was fire asffff
This is how Space Marines should be like. They're not some dudes in power armor. They are the machines of death.
The Keanu Reeves reload, epic
Now I want to see Blur’s take on Astartes vs Chaos Astartes action!
*I'm sorry, but you've thrown off the Emperor's groove...*
the yzma heresy
SAYAMA PEDERSEN FTW
I love how mechanical their movements look. It really shows how the power armor adjusts to their movements.
the pushs are BÄÄÄM xD
Chills.
Watch this while listening to Disposal Unit, is fking awesome
The Emperor protects
They cooked with this animation
Watched this last night. Was so legit.
This is a worthy follow up to Astartis by Syama Pedersen.👍
"Ultramarines are just boy scouts". Uh huh. Can you imagine how terrifying Guilliman would be if this is what his Primaris sons can do. A scene where he takes out traitor astartes would be mint.
The efficiency of the battle. No wasted movement. You know you're look at an Ultramarine, not a Space Wolf.
That sergeant totally said “the Codex Astartes does not support that action”
Wow. Just...fucking wow.
He is impact.
0:18 "You missed"
Let's gooo!!
Did he just reload his bolter like John Wick does!?
300 in space !
By the Astartes guy, so you know it's gonna be good
That was likeb97 % perfect they forget that the shield also have a force fields
They didn’t need the force field for that particular gun.
The force field those things have, have a limited run time so they need to limit its use.
They didn’t need it because they were going against weaponry that was a few tiers below their own weapons
That wasn't a storm shield
