fantastically simple to tie. I usually use natural furs. I may have to finally break down and get some craft fur. All the best and thanks for sharing. Sean
+Stephen Hibbs Got some tubes from mistpool.com, they have a few sizes available. Cone heads for pike tubes, I haven't used but I used fish mask, adds weight to the front of streamer and makes easy epoxy eyes attaching
Thank you for the video! A very cool streamer! I like your approach. I'm also a little tired of abandoning my fat cats. It seems to me that it makes sense to use the experience of Jerry French (Style Steelhead Fly). Using this method, it will be possible to create a variety of color combinations and the density of the dubbing loop instead of using plastic tubes.
+Alexandr Rusov Thank you for your kind words! I'm using a large elastic tube, to cover the last millimeters of the tube I used for the streamer. Then this elastic tube will hold the hook better, after attaching the hook to the leader or trace wire. There are some videos on youtube which shows how to rig a tube fly...
Very nice pattern and cool technique with the ez body used as a spreader. As you formed it I thought a disc may be used too, but your way is probably more economical. Did you use a fan to blow back the reverse tied materials? I've done that with a little personal battery powered fan that became an air boat and flew across my table scattering materials all over! Anyway nice video and tips, thanks. 👍
In Esox Lucius veritas I thought so. Still you make a very artistic video, I like when the music tempo slowed so did the film speed as you blew on the fly again, awesome! That fly has a great profile in all directions, I've watched it a few times already and going to subscribe. The synthetic you bought on eBay, is it GSS (Gartsides secret stuff)? I've seen some tyers use EZ tubing to form the head of a streamer, before uv resins and all the skulls and helmets available now, have you any videos or tied any like that? Thanks, you've got a new fan... 👍
+Mats Lundberg Thanks :) It's E-Z Body I found on mistpool.com, but I'm sure some other stuffs can replace it. I've used it just to keep the fibers in a cone shape for thorax
Thanks will order one asap ;) its a greate ide, i use bucktail my self and then craft fur over it so the flash dosnt go though but this will save some materials thats for sure!
Fantastic fly!
