- Before Pantera was the tough boys of 90's metal they leaned a bit more hair metal, today we listen to We'll Meet Again from Early Pantera from the Power Metal album, this will be my first time hearing their early stuff, are you an early Pantera fan? get in those comments!
Pantera was an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas, formed in 1981. The group's best-known lineup consisted of the Abbott brothers, along with vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown.

LOL! your song lyric theory! Could be a break up song with a threat from Phil ( Oh, we will meet again, nobody breaks up with me). Heavier CFH style songs on album but that would be too obvious, this was the stand out song for me. Thanks, my friend.
Over and out , death trap , power metal , Burnn are not that far from CFH , if you listened the entire album and not just CFH , domination and Primal concrete sledge

FAVORITE PANTERA SONG!
Grew up on Glamtera, this stuff is absolute gold.
I think it’s interesting whenever people discover bands in there earlier renditions or previous bands that had featured some of the members from that band, finding those musicians in their youth, trying to find themselves musically.
This is a great song with a great solo, even if not in my favorite style. This is probably my favorite of their glam days.
Dime's solo on this track is on par with any of his solos post Glam era.
Fuck yeah 😜 much respect to the Abbott brothers
This song was the pre-cursor to the song "Cemetary Gates" from their follow-up album, Cowbows From Hell.
I love all eras of Pantera, I'm not too cool for school to say it
I used to go see Phil sing in a band called Razor White before he joined Pantera.
Weren’t they like a tribute band for Judas Priest?
@@MetallicaKing48 No,they did Priest songs, but also a bunch of songs by other bands.
Flying to Toronto coming August for the Pantera (tribute) concert in my Power Metal t shirt.
I can't let their illustrious groove metal era erase this gem. Yes, may not include any song from the 80s in their setlist but I will be in my 80s Pantera t .... lest we forget \m/
This tune is so catchy it's fucked
hah, just stumbled into this one after your reaction on Over & Out. This is fuggin gold. We need more.
Terry Glaze was the prior vocalist to Phil. But, he was also running the band into the ground and not on board with them changing their sound. So needless to say, he had to go.
As for me? I discovered this album through my older brother at the time, and I did not quite understand how to feel about it. Because I knew the name of the band already and I had already listened to quite a few of their songs at the time, this was still in the 90s of course. And then here comes my older brother planned some 80s metal that I did not quite recognize, but at the same time recognized the voice? I just simply see it as them all saying goodbye to the 80s. A beautiful decade for sure, a lot of mystery and pain throughout that decade.
We'll Meet Again is a bitchin' Pre-CFH era ballad. I request trying out another Pre-CFH era song, like 'All Over Tonight' from their 'Projects In The Jungle' Album.
Hard Ride from power metal is pretty bad ass as well
Projects in the jungle is where it’s at 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I like the conserts after that era. (Around 1989) They played some songs from Power Metal and also from Cowbots From Hell. This was great combination in my opinion.
great album
It kills me that they buried this album!
I wish they would rerelease Power Metal but with a better mix.
Bro what lenses you got in those glasses 🤔
I personally totally love this album. Phil's singin was really good. But I am a lil biased on that as Phil is one of my fave vocalist in the business. And Dimebag (Diamond at the time) Darrell's solo's, I mean come on, they are as as juicy as all the rest of the later PanterA's catalog IMO. That is one of the things I loved about Dime, give any song in the world and he can lay down a killer solo in it. Again I may be biased on Dime too as he is a fellow Texan, a fellow Metal Head and a fellow Leo.
What about Rock Sugar? Don’t stop the sandman!
Oh my goodness....the man fight going on and the fur flying about whether or not Phil Anselmo is the vocalist...grab the popcorn!! 💥😈🍿 That was far more entertaining to me than this track. It wasn't BAD for me but I just kind of had like a "meh" feeling about it. I have never been a huge Pantera fan anyway so the "Is it Phil or not?" argument is totally inconsequential to me but there was obviously some evolution occurring and I trust White Bread....
Not a shabby song , but as a guitarist myself the solo was one of Dime’s better ones that probably doesn’t get heard often enough. That was the real star of the tune.
LOL, I"m sitting next to you and sharing your popcorn watching the back and forth like a tennis match- White Bread vs. Blake. I'm with WB also, the solo is the best part. 😃
@@rickbelk6844 I don't know about you, but I could use some extra butter.... Can we get some Milk Duds, too??? 😹

LaBar... Stupid auto correct...
Should have played the title track power metal way better, but yeah that's Phil on vocals this was his first album with the bad before that they had a couple singer's
Hey Shane, not sure if that is Phil Anselmo singing or not. Doesn't really sound like him.
yea, I am still unsure myself.
It’s Phil, I own a copy.
@@TrevyTrev-andTheFunkyPets and what about you "owning a copy" makes you sure it is Phil singing?
@@blakejohnson7148
Dude. Its Philip singing. Period. He is right there on the album cover. Listen again
@@integrity101 So you are under the impression that if a performer is pictured on the album cover that means that they performed on the record?
that song totally sucks. Its no wonder they disowned the old catalogue.
Real PanterA fans would appreciate that phase that they went through
you dont know shi... about music😂
It’s good
