    I used to visit the Tribes a lot, and got to know a lot of people there in Chattanooga. While coming home from work, I took the buses all the time, I saw one of the kids working at one of the houses they were renovating on McCallie - he was mowing a lawn - and seriously, he had finished, walked to the bus stop, and got on. That was it. He looked about 13, with his hair in that ponytail they have, with one of those headbands all the guys wear. He apologized to the bus driver and said he didn't have any money, and didn't know what to do on a bus, but he was leaving the Twelve Tribes and what should he do. The driver told him to sit down, and the whole bus treated him like a hero. Haven't seen him after that.

    Stay free! I have had some interactions with the twelve tribes through their yellow deli location in rural North Carolina because my family took me to eat there pre-Covid and my “this is a cult” alarms started going off when they were actively trying to recruit me and my girlfriend at the time. Being open minded I looked into the literature they handed out and saw it for what it is. They are definitely preying on people who are in desperate economic or personal crisis in that area.

      Yes, always looking for lost sheep. I don't believe people in the group are purposefully preying on others, I definitely did my share of meeting people and hoping they would join when I was a part. But the members are always looking for people who are searching in life, and the belief is people are looking for a God shaped void, of which they claim to have the answer. Stay free yourself 😉

    SHUNNED :persistently avoided, ignored or rejected . I believe that’s the word you were searching for. Being shunned makes it even harder for the member of any group to leave. Shunning often splits up family relationships , business relationships , ALL relationships To be forced to start life over without any of your loved ones, without a support system is terrifying, and the reason high control groups use shunning , as they know the idea of it will make most people fall in line, rather than face their fears and gain their freedom. In the end ? I’m so happy you were forced to leave and forced to accept your freedom. And look at you . You’ve survived it and your. Kids can taste freedom. My friend successfully showed the judge in family court that TT had a history of child abuse and so it was not a safe environment for their son. TT would not allow her to see her son until their son was handed over to the cult. When they first met the cult, the cult leaders actively tried to split the family because they knew she was weak to their arguments. She is still there. Very sad. What's up Jilly. I had a few things I was curious about and was wondering if you would be able to help me understand the 12 tribes a little better. I found out about 12 tribes recently because of a huge fire outside of Boulder, CO this past week that burned down hundreds of houses and land. I guess that it may have originated from the 12 tribes properties in that area.
    I heard that the 12 tribes group would go around in their crazy multi level busses and follow Grateful Dead, Phil and Friends, Pink Floyd and other popular 70s artists. I also heard that they would often engage in predatory techniques upon "spun-out" kids who were at those shows and who had nowhere else to go. I heard they would do things like send over a pretty young girl to talk to some kid who was tripping his face off and then bring him into their group and attempt to convert him to the 12 tribes cause.
    Are any of those things true? How often did they go on these concert tours in these buses? Did you ever ride in one of them or go to a show with the 12 tribes group? What is with their interest in these bands that often have a very psychedelic vibe to them? Was / Is it common for members in the 12 Tribes group to take LSD, mushrooms, and other psychedelic drugs (maybe considered sacraments?).
    Sorry this is so long lol. Anyway thanks for your knowledge and have a wonderful day.

      He there! Ah yes, the busses. Peacemakers they are called. Super beautiful! I did get to go to Kansas City once i believe. In my experience (which was 8 years) there were many evangelism trips that were taken. Often to a big event, and we would arm ourselves with hundreds of "free papers" that would have stories in then that would tug at people's hearts and offer them a solution (being part of a group). The papers are definitely interesting and well done. Worth a read! They used to and probably still do go to shows, although the busses are shared between tribes. But a van or two full of people would go out and give people papers pretty often.
      No drugs ever as far as i know. Sexuality was definitely frowned upon and I never witnessed anyone trying to get a 12 T girl out to lure people. The main goal for the bus would be to provide a safe place for people to come. But of course after they create a warm hospitable place, they would ask questions to see if the people were satisfied with their life. It was definitely a way for the TT to "plant seeds" and provide "hope" for aimless people looking for a change. Hey, it worked on me!
      But again, I was never a person of authority in the tribes, so who knows, maybe there was something going on there that i wasn't able to see. All i could do was trust them, cause if i didn't I wouldn't have the "holy spirit", and nobody wanted that.
      I think they follow bands like that because people who follow those bands could be thought of as "wandering" or "aimless". In the 70's I believe they found a LOT of people following the G Dead.

    Dear Jilly Beenz, thank You for sharing!!! I am very thankful to be able to hear about Your experience which is quite unique as You Yourself point out.
    Since I almost never heard about someone being "kicked out" there and the implications... You Yourself point out that ppl usually leave "over night" "in secret" "hastingly sneaking out" which also is my impression. Then some (very few) ex-members sound more like a "controlled, smooth transition out" like S.R. Lavin (and his book "GOD'S PEOPLE in Search of a Destiny") or Chen Czarnecki R.I.P.
    Actually the ONLY occasion I heard about someone being "kicked out" is Rosemary Cruzado's husband not willing to accept teachings and opposing actively and openly and becoming a "troublesome element" to the group and its holy and noble destiny. Even renegade youths are being described as "our lost sheep" and being often addressed in prayer to please come back. The only other occasion for "kicked out" being "some sexual misconduct" which I read in another book, when it "couldn't be fixed by a brown-pants-wedding".
    In ALL other instances, I hear about the group actually trying to hold and correct You while the individual pushes to leave. Which is somehow comforting for a person planing to join, given that you have put EVERYTHING on one oneway ticket, you wouldn't want a group that drops you at "first inconvenience".
    - I know this is a personal question, but would You be able to give a hint on why the group did such a drastic and unusual thing like "kicking out" in Your case? Openly rejecting teaching(s)? Something "sexual"?
    PS: I really love your hair and wish you all the best...which is likely living in the land of the free. For folx here in Europe I sense shit coming down "communist china" style next fall...sadly enough...or maybe not as I still looking for the "final push" over the waterfall...

      Yeees! So in a nutshell I was judged as not having the "spirit". I did my darndest to remain in the group, but after a taste of free will ( my kids having whooping cough so we were quarantined) and with my "husband " gone, and also being disconnected I just wasn't making it. SO much pressure. They tried to help me in some ways, but it was decided that I needed to go back to my "head" ("husband "), reunite as a family then the idea was we'd all come back together. At least that's what they said!
      I wanted to stay (although I believe subconsciously I wanted to get the heLL outta there), but I got booted!I wasn't upholding the discipline standards and became a liability.
      That's pretty much the jist.
      Little did they know (maybe) that they put us in a dangerous situation 🤔.

      @Eurobunker 2 роки тому +1

      @@jillybeenz8699 Thanks!! This sounds a bit crazy, because on the one hand there surely is some vigor on visitors to "stay and join" and on the other hand I hear about people inside being asked to "sort out their things in the world first, and *then* come back". What is kind of weird, because sorting out your stuff in the world surely is much more effective and thorough if You do this *before* joining (and giving up a neat job). But I guess this is a bit too much pragmatic thinking.
      So in a nutshell, I plan to support my needy family first until they can make it independently from my support, making a clean cut with the least amount of "collateral damage" and family suffering as possible and then... well I'll just have to do it. I sense it for almost 5 years now. I need to because I really believe them and their biblical knowledge and having lost almost all faith in the world.
      I don't know if anyone can relate to the sensation that one "needs this experience" or having missed some important call in Your life. Even though it meaning giving up everything else and possible desaster. But life is a single shot only. I might lose everything but I yearn for this peace with god, peace with surroundings, inner peace with myself.

    • @jillybeenz8699
      @jillybeenz8699  2 роки тому +1

      Well, it's hard to leave cause they don't want you to go. Many sneak out. I didn't want to leave (not consciously), but they wanted me to leave (rare). But in any case life after leaving is incredibly challenging 🙂

    No man is an island. That said man can live a much more independent life. My wife and I sold everything except a thirty eight foot sailboat eight years ago which we made our home. Looking back it is amazing how much of our lives were controlled by society. Now we live on the fringes of society and the freedom of our time is mostly ours. My point being the Twelve Tribes are a micro cult but how we live in a society at large can be the same.

    My question is about taking medication or going to a doctor? Is this never allowed? Same thing with prenatal care or childbirth in a hospital?

    • @jillybeenz8699
      @jillybeenz8699  2 роки тому +2

      Not never, but they try to handle everything the homeopathic way. There's definitely a lot of wisdom they have. I'm sure it's a case by case basis as far as medication goes, but overall is not used. Prenatal care and births are normally done at their homes, unless there is a circumstance.
      Hope that helps☺️

    Why did they kick you out when you wanted to stay? Were you questioning too much? Were you more of an expense because of three children? I looked through your videos to see if you elaborated on that. What does it take to get kicked out? I never heard of a cult that actually kicked members out back into the world. Somehow you were no longer an asset to the community.
