I have this bad and probably had it all my life. I'm now 64 and my insurance just dropped RX Previcide. Now what do I do? It's the only medicine that has ever worked. I was paying 105 dollars for a 90 day supply. Now they want 400 dollars every month for a 30 day supply. Who can afford that? We need universal health care.

Thank you so much for you video here and your prior video. I've had this condition for years (unsure how far back). My wife and I just learned that our middle son also has this, as it was explained to us that it is genetic.
It is not genetic, some people are genetically susceptible to the environmental triggers for it which explains why most gastroenterologists had not heard of this a decade or 2 ago.
My take away from this is that, as far as we know, allergies and acid reflux cause EoE...Growing up I had no issues or allergies what so ever. Why now at age 21 does my body constrict the throat resulting in (EoE)? Why weren't allergies and acid reflux affecting me in my younger years? If anyone knows the answer to this please comment !

I suffered with this for eight years multiple trips to the emergency room to remove food strictures. I am in my 50s so food elimination is not realistic. I have been on the flucticasone for a month and I am hoping this will help. But it is a pain to take the medication this way so I am hoping more medication options will be made available.

My son is 13 with MFA, ASTHMA AND newly diagnosed MCAS. He's been on elemental only via G tube for 5 years. Skin and RAST testing essentially negative ( >.35 ) to many foods he's anaphylactic to ( peanut, fish,shellfish,strawberry,cherry,soy to name a few) . His endoscopies looked good but "pale" . Had been in remission ( 0 Eosinophilic, no symptoms, no Meds) for 3 years but unable to add more than 3 foods ( banana,oranges,rice) but his symptoms, they have all come back slowly along with worsening GI symptoms which led to MCAS diagnosis. Now on cromolyn, Zantac, Claritin and singular doing GREAT with a clean scope!
I have it as well. The problem is, trying to figure out what your body can take. Sometimes you may eat something and not feel it’s, “choking,” symptoms till an hour later. But I’ve learned of that happens, you have to wait till it settles down, sip water after to make sure you won’t choke, then good to go again. Just don’t eat that food you had but it can be difficult to identify because of all the different things that’s placed in our foods. Honestly, all the preservatives could be a long term trigger in my opinion. Normal allergies can set this off as well I guess. More studies need to be done for sure. There’s not enough information.

@@childrenoflight3010 have you taken any PPIs? I was like that with just drinking water. I was choking on it. Right now I take pantoprazole and maintain a GERD diet. My EOE is really triggered by GERD.

I am 58 and just got diagnosed. I never had allegories. Why did this happen to me at 58? I don't know either.
