My only cure was to quit eating all meats, rice, potatoes and whatever sets it off that I'm allergic to. Been stressed 3 times. Best to just stop eating. I can't add food back in. My only peace is limited diet

I was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis 14 years ago. Yes they did the scope down my throat and took samples which confirmed it. I also have gerd. What I found controls it well is taking one pill of Prilosec AKA Omeprazole every other day or every 3rd day. I have begged my GP to test me for food allergies but he refuses. He is not the first GP I have asked but they all refuse. I also find regular exercise super helpful. I am going to be looking into the things mentioned in this video. Thanks for making it! :D

I have eosinophilic esophagitis. I am intolerant to wheat, corn, dairy, eggs, tomatoes, beef jerky, chickpeas, peppermint, pumpkin, romaine lettuce, and vanilla. Initially, I was doing well on a diet eliminating the first 5 allergies I had listed. I started to experience a food sticking sensation, and pain when swallowing water. I decided to mail my hair into the website Test My Allergy, and do a Non-IgE allergy test. I have noticed that these results are only based on the foods I have ingested during the last 8 months of my life, because I am on such a restricted diet. The results do not mention any of my known food intolerances that I have not eaten in the last 8 months. Despite the 600+ list of foods tested, there are foods in my diet, which are not listed as foods that they test. Due to an amine intolerance, I have to drink Vega Protein Smoothie with Alfalfa grass powder daily. Many of the ingredients found in Enjoy Life foods are not listed as tested foods. An endoscopy is still necessary, but the hair sample test for non-IgE responses did give me more information, and it may help to prevent further damage. My esophagus is not as inflamed after eliminating the other foods from my diet.

It’s worth it. Do it. I moved my EoE to my allergist to manage, GP and GI don’t get it. I am gluten/rye igG intolerance, so I went Keto. First time scooped, EoE was not even the diagnosis, Barretts. Except 5 years later, no it’s actually EoE. Was wondering why a Benedryl helped it. And EoE is found higher in those with allergies/ asthma, which I do. Finding your stack of scripts and over the counter and supplements to manage is doable. Flare ups still occurs but 80% less.

I've had horrible acid reflux for 5 months. It was so bad that I lost my sense of taste for the first month. Then my ENT put me on prescription strength Zantac. Still no relief and so I just had an endoscopy which showed lots of esophageal inflammation. I have severe asthma and seasonal allergies. So now they biopsied to see if I have eosinophilic esophagitis.
I know I'm allergic to gluten and also milk protein sensitive. Bottom line...wish me luck because I love food and seriously don't want eosinophilic esophagitis.

I am in the middle of figuring out my EOE diagnosis and I'm doing the elimination diet with allergen food group introductions and repeat endoscopies. I mentioned the IGG blood test to my gastroenterologist and he said they are not reliable. What are your thoughts on IGG tests for figuring out food sensitivities? Is there another reason besides unreliable labs that they are not highly regarded? My doctor mentioned something like whatever you eat shows up on the IGG tests so it's not really showing foods you're sensitive to, it just shows foods you've eaten.

Use to get that, not sure if it was getting EoE controlled or being more aggressive with Viatimin D, could be para-thyroid (from low D) if you have rarely seen it in winter vs summer.

I have eliminated all chemical food allergins which caused immediate airway shut down but the other part was meat and chicken which caused me to have 4 emergency surgeries in 15 years, the last was 3 days ago, I have vowed to never eat steak or chicken ever again am eating premium mince beef burgers chewed finely in my mouth and all is well, I thank Holy Jesus Christ and the surgeons for saving my life but do not want to see another emergency room again goodbye steaks, chicken and ANYTHING that does not crumble and melt in my mouth

Hey , I first suffered from this kind of allergy, I was 11 and in boarding school it took 2 days before my guardians came to me , until that I had shortness of breath and every warden recognised it as asthma , my mucous was green after two days . after this every spring and fall I showed symptoms like this and every body thought this is asthma because I would cough like hags my mucous would turn green and I always had problems in exhaling air like air I inhaled didn't come out. Other than those 15 days of spring and fall I would never loose a breath and I am built sturdy 6"4 and 95 kg . And one more thing she could be suffering from constipation. I am now 21 and I suffered almost every year after 11 . But every year I closely assessed the situation and I benefited from this. First I started breathing with diaphragm, reflux symptoms disappeared with that the green and yellow mucous. Because acid did this. Don't eat much fat of any kind in fall and spring 15 to 20 . no citrus ever , I remember when I was 11 I ate pineapple and that evening I was down. last year I was eating an orange scrambled eggs and oats I didn't fall that much sick but cough came back, use black pepper, cinnamon cloves ,no red chilli but you can use green chillies. Seek an ayurvedic doctor please , don't use inhalers or rotahalers. There is no cure but lifestyle changes . Search ‘cough nature’ kaph prakriti ,kaph means cough it's is a sanskrit word . the child with kapha nature are blessed with huge built I was 4.5 kgs at birth , shiny and oily skin and hair , these children are really cool tempered ,kapha is water nature . They have mucous like pale substance in their eyes especially when they wake up they don't easily wake up in the morning ,a bit lazy. Please consult an ayurvedic doctor, I am sure she is not allergic to gluten and dairy , avoid dairy it season is fall and spring .if you don't have these characters than you have kaph dosh , please google kapha nature and dosh and consult ayurvedic doctor . I promise you it will help.

I might have this. I’m 36 and have always eaten slowly, my mom has laryngospasms that cause her throat to close up and hard to breathe, so likely something hereditary. Has happened to me. But lately I’ve noticed my throat feeling tighter and my swallowing more difficult. I hate this. It makes eating so hard and stressful. I’ve had a laryngospam 1 time when I was sick and vomiting many years ago, my throat just closed up for about 10 seconds. Very scary. I wish I could just swallow like normal people and be done eating in a reasonable time. I’ve also been having rosacea flare ups on my face. Not sure if it’s related.

Great video Dr. Christianson, what are your thoughts on using nasalcrom (cromolyn sodium). I know it is a mastcell inhibitor that is proven safe. Being this is a nasal spray some does travel down the back of your throat, reaching the esophagus.

Hello! I have an 11 month old, we got referred to the GI specialist because every since he was born he throws up. He doesn’t throw up every day but does frequently. He gags a lot and can’t eat solids because he gags and throws up. The doctor increased his calories because he wasn’t gaining no weight. Could my baby have this? I’m so frustrated.

Immunotherapy or aminos sublingual? Could't hear/ not native in english. Sounds interesting- amino acids can be miraculous as well/ glycine , theanine, tryptophane, etc... Do love buckwheat, always did. Delicious really.

We had a long road to find out what my son had. From dr telling me he made his self vomit so dr told me to fuss at him for it. To drs acting like I was crazy and he was not throwing up like that and that much that it was only me wanting this child tested for thing. Started when he was born but got really bad when he was 4 and a half . Then two years of test and diets. Then meds but then it got bad again 4 months ago.
