I also grew up creek wading mainly for Rock Bass. I’m really glad Yum came out with these Hellgrammite lures. Especially in all the colors. I heard about these a few years ago, got a couple bags from Amazon but never tried them. These are much more affordable and look even better. I can’t wait to try them out. They should be the bombdigety! Thanks for sharing these videos.
Is there a data sheet online for Yum Baits that says what hooks can be used for which bait?
If you've ever watched a hellgramite in the water the split shot method would be most realistic. There is one method I'd suggest trying and that would be wacky worm style. Put a live hellgramite on a hook and watch how it moves.
Neat tips
Perch are fun to catch too. The ones that are 10-12" are better than bass bites at the same size. I wish there were more perch lure.

I say the mojo/split shot rig is the best way to rig this. Ned/shaky can do really well too but I feel like it’s best feature is the realistic shape not necessary the rigs to fish it on

It should be said that the split shot rig is terrible for rocky bottoms. The split shot will invariable get stuck between rocks.

I tried using live helgremites when I was a kid. Hard to bait them on hook and pinched hard. I used 3 and gave rest to neighbor.

I think they should make a smaller version of this for trout, crappie and panfish too. It's just an idea. This really does look like a cool little jig here.

Does fishing artificial hellgrammites require "matching the hatch" as in color depending on what time of the year?? I've never tried fishing this lure but wanna try it. Any tip is very appreciated. Thank You!!

The bait flew off ?? You think the designers would develop a tougher material, Nikko makes the best Hellgramite bait and it wont fly off the hook !!!!!
