Can you provide the breakdown of incentives and savings? Are these savings and incentives only applies in Tesla Peabody.? I’m from MA and curious if savings and incentives also applies to other Tesla dealerships. Thanks.
@@mjcipri The incentive and savings Tesla is talking about is not federal tax break. The federal tax credit on Tesla products already ended. The only savings on Tesla is savings on gas. That saving is on any EV. So there is no real incentive and savings that is only for Tesla cars. I think that's why Tesla recently dropped prices on model Y by $1000 to stay competitive to other company's EVs.
@@roncho1906 The Green Act is coming this year. If passed, it would give tesla buyer $7k in tax credit. I am hoping it will pass sooner so I can order a LR Y 7 seater.
@@roncho1906 There are some state tax breaks and incentives. IIRC Massachusetts has a $5K - $7.5K incentive for cars costing under $50K, so the model Y could qualify.
Total agreement. I love driving to work in total silence. No engine revving, no transmission shifting, no warm up time in winter. I can start the climate control in a closed garage and not have to worry about killing myself with carbon monoxide. Love hopping into a car that is already 68F year round. And I can drive it fast and draw no attention to myself as it isn't a screaming loud V8.
Dude you I found you out today but you deserve way more subs. I’m only watching this because I ordered a model y and am not such a car guy but I will sub to your channel. Thanks for in depth review.
Good review Mike! I just sat in a Y last week and it’s pretty cool. Got to understand, from the owner, all the nuances and why it’s so attractive to so many. The range doesn’t scare me, it’s more the directing to charging stations and what that adds to a long range trip. I do several 800 and 1500 mile trips over 12 months so I’m not ready yet to get into an electric vehicle, but I’m sure it will come!
Great review. Agreed with what you said, coming from a 2021 MY LR owner. A few comments: suspension is a bit rough; wish the screen is tiltable, and I use a lot of voice commands these days. Overall still love it, as you said it is really fun and somewhat a "smart" car.
Horse power sells cars, but torque wins races! 326 miles is wishful thinking, especially in the winter. I'm looking at moving to the Boston area to be closer to my daughters, and would probably want to drive to Long Island to visit my sister. That's just a bit out of the model Y's range limit, so such a trip would involve a stop at a super charger somewhere in Connecticut, probably near the NY state border. Not a big problem, as I'd need a bathroom stop along the way, anyhow. I do remember some 40 years ago making the trip from Marlboro Ma to Brooklyn NY in just under 3 hours (ignoring the speed limit on the Merit Pky), but those days are gone. If the model 3 was a hatchback, I'd be looking at that, but the Y adds the extra cargo space, plus you can add a tow hitch.
You can comfortably sleep in model y too and storage, two main factors so I am still pin pinging between model y and 3 better ranger, faster just a bit etc.
Terrific well-done evaluation. WHY DON'T YOU OFFER A CODE! I would use your code (but you do not yet have a tesla, i know. Maybe your dealer friend would help you. Best of luck with your future Tesla. thank you.
how would it handle EMP or a solar flare? I imagine like fighter jets it could be hardened against EMP and the like but doesn't come standard that way!
What is the life expectancy of this car in general before it goes bad and needs replacing? How long do the batteries last before they start loosing their range and need replacing? What is the cost of the batteries? On a 562 mile road trip, if the car only gets 326 miles on a charge, which that will vary depending on the start and stop conditions and road conditions, how long does it take to charge the car backup to continue on with the road trip? Why isn't there a charging system on the vehicle so when the wheels are turning as you're driving the batteries could be charging as you're driving? I'm not per say anti electric or against anything... I'm thinking realistically...
This might seem petty but I have to ask. So, I test drove a model Y and was shocked at the lack of visibility through the rear windshield. The Tesla only has a slit to look through. It’s almost non existent. I’m used to a huge rear windshield. Now, I realize that the Model Y has a camera, but I don’t like that I’d have to push a button and look at the screen in order to scan behind me, rather than a quick glance in my rear view mirror. Feels unsafe. What do you think about this?
I literally got my 2021 model Y 3/5 and our impression is super negative. First we couldn't charge it on our first night home and were getting a solid red light on the charging port. Called tesla and was told to bring it in for service. Turns out the mobile connector that came with this new tesla was at fault and they replaced it. Ok,weird but i'll over look that. What I can't over look is that while driving my less then 24 hour old tesla i got a warning noise and alert to pull over because the car was going to "shut down" and then couldn't drive or do anything. Thank goodness I was at a stop sign when it decided to shut down.. tesla sent a tow truck and my model y is at service for the 2nd time in the same day. Seems like this issue has been around since at least 2018 with other models. Very unsafe for a car to shutdown on you while driving.
Your saying people who drive 2 miles a day are liars maybe but me and my wife love driving around and almost everyday we drive for an hour or 2 and a lot of times for like 3 to 4 hours so we drive over 200 km or 300 km sometimes it’s crazy but we do and not even going out of the city just in the city and in the downtown area I live in Toronto and we go all over for fun so this car would be great for me

I’m happy Tesla didn’t do like other companies change design every year or every 3 years they focus on important parts like battery technology and things that matter that’s why this car works great and people wonder why Tesla not making money it’s common sense I can’t believe nobody found the answer it’s because the guy isn’t focus on making money he is focusing on making best car for example cars with same price don’t offer anything close to Tesla those companies are cheating out to make money and companies who make cars that have what Tesla have will be a lot more money so if you ask me this Tesla that’s about 70k Canadian is worth 90k or 100k Canadian he could have kept the price high and make more money but instead he uses actually his profit to make a great car you get it ? I believe this car is really low price no car companies are offering anything like this for this cheap Tesla model 3 is 45k to 50k Canadian has everything include 4 wheel drive other car companies would price it at 70k so Tesla basically are using their own profit to upgrade the hardware of the car if you ask me and that’s the reason why people say Tesla not making money or losing money is not because it’s a bad company or don’t have good products it’s actually because they have the best cars for the best price now I’ll get people argue say other companies making cars that are better no there isn’t no company so far offers anything close to this for this price and if they ever do have something like this will cost over 90k or 100k look at Porsche thief electric is over 100k and the turbo s is like 200k to 250k and guess what Tesla has same speed or close speed for like 100k half price so so far no car companies will beat Tesla because again they focus on making profits so they will cheap out sell the car for 50k but will have 25k worth of material Tesla basically making 50k car and 45k is worth of material I’m putting it to you in an easy way numbers may be wrong 25k or 45k but you get the an idea trust me if Tesla wanted to make money they could have very easily and a lot of it people would buy this even if it’s 100k now I would if I had money so their products are worth a lot more then what they sell them for I respect the guy because he is actually focusing on making great products for people unlike other companies make cars so they break in 5 years so you buy another one and I will I think buy a Tesla or buy it one day when I can afford it it’s not a lot 60k or 70k Canadian but still times are hard when the right time comes I’ll buy a brand new one from dealer finance it and these cars will hold value because their life expectancy is very high their warranty is good too
