5/9/2024 - West Cameron inferno totals structure and damages another.
Just before midnight West Cameron Township and surrounding areas were alerted to a working fire on Gottshalls lane.
Tanker task force was quickly activated due to no hydrants in the area.
Crew arrived to a fully involved structure which collapsed not long after units arrived.
The fire was hot enough to begin to catch the neighboring house on fire.
Fire was brought under control in roughly 1 hour 30 minutes with crews working on the exposure building and soaking down what was left of the original house.

The house was fully involved when the video started, why waste what little available water on it and not protect the B side on the exposure? Then the exposure house gets going and they waste more water on a deck gun without sufficient pressure. Why not let the original fire bldg just burn to the ground? There was nothing to save and by letting it stand they created another hazard. Yes they are volunteers but that doesn’t excuse the obvious lack of leadership.
I want to believe that there is a reasonable explanation for this.

Description said no hydrants available so was a difficult situation.
Why only 1 drop tank and not 2 or even 3????? I work at an airport fire dept but I’m also at a rural volunteer and we would have had 3 tanks dropped and would have had continuous water….
something about this just isn't right. Intentional urban renewal? took them 13 minutes into the video to get a deck gun in operation to protect the exposure and then it still had low pressure.
Calls 2nd alarm when the D exposure is done for too😮😢

They need to get WATER ON THE A SIDE BEFORE SECOND STRUCTURE GOES UP......
My idea would be after primary search..(2) DECK GUNS (2) TOWER LADDERS (1) REMOTE CONTROL GUN OFF LADDER TRUCK

I didn't see one tanker truck there as you were heading towards the house that was burning. Good reason for not being able to put the wet stuff on the red stuff!!
Why no water the firefighters must be frustrated for sure😮maybe the wires in the way but i doubt it they could use handheld hoses

No water supply had to use tankers.
Tanker taskforce training much?? One portable pond and 2 tankers shown for this fire load and they wonder why they lost the exposure? You need a minimum 2 ponds and steady tanker line to flow the master or you run that 2k gallon tanker dry in minutes. And they ask why I left PA fire depts. Not all are bad but with this fire load and no water it should have gone to a 2nd alarm on arrival.
