@Lunchman.d you beat me to the comment. Had heard they were closing. Last time I was there the guy working told me to head to Florence if I had anything to do with pipes...and I did...and it was great.
Oh, how nice. I live in Middletown, Ohio……I’ll have to drive down to those two locations and pick me up some tobacco sometime soon. It’s been 25 years or more since I’ve been downtown Cincinnati. I’m in my mid 60’s now, and don’t go to big cities anymore like I did in my younger years. Hard on the old knees. I appreciate you taking the time yo film this and sharing. All the best to you. -Steve
About 40 mins north-ish of you is the Wharf. If you haven't yet been, I'd highly recommend it. I also live in Middletown and make the drive up whenever I can.
Very nice! This is a reminder that I need to swing by and get a few of their house blends. I'm quite fortunate to live just a few miles down the road from the Florence shop! Thanks for the tour and happy smokes!
I think a trip to Briar Works in Columbia Tennessee would be enjoyable trip for you, because you could see first hand how some of the greatest handmade pipes are made.
@@emeraldunderground4234 yup they sell it usually from around (I think) the end of August or beginning of September until Halloween. Call and order. I don’t think it can be ordered online. It’s an excellent aromatic.
Nice little tour. I've been in both of the mentioned cities when I last visited the us. Didn't know these shops existed. Greetings from across the pond
Shop visit request: Clarion Cigar & Pipes, PA. Dozens of tobaccos, hundreds of pipes, large and spacious upstairs smoking lounge, wood everywhere, cigars, and just a block from the courthouse and park. Today was my first visit and I loved it; walked out with a Big Ben pipe and Peterson Early Morning Blend and Nightcap plus Ole Shenandoah. I have a pic of the pipe wall if there’s a way to send it. Thank you for your channel!
Why do I feel like you are getting a head start on getting to Columbus. 😮 Hope to see you there. Stop by the Grunewald Pipes Table and say hey. Pipe On
Wait until september hits and then call into the shop to place an order. I live right down the street from the Florence location, and unless you live right next to it, then that's how they sell it there.
@@wilhelmscream6834 MUTTONCHOP SAID CALL IN AUGUST AND YOU CAN ORDER AND SO DID THE GUY BEHIND THE COUNTER. SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO GO BACK AND WATCH THE VID. JS THANKS
I've been going to the same tobacco shop for over 25 years now. I've watched the owners grow old, and they've watched me grow old, too. I always get some of my favorite butter rum house blend every time I stop in. Gonna be hard to see them go, which they will have to, eventually. Such is life, I guess.
Excellent video! I will definitely stop in when I’m in the area. I’m sad to say that I live in a state that has made it all but impossible to remain in business as a Tobacconist, I only know of two that remain around me LJ Peretti and Watch City that are actually True traditional tobacconists that blend in house. Most others are simply cigar shops. Love stopping in and checking out the selections at brick and mortar shops! Happy piping all! Much love from Boston Ma.
Daaaaang! Thanks for opening my eyes to this piper's oasis just a little drive away. I will definitely check it out asap. I wish we had something like that in columbus.
There's a nice shop in Upper Arlington on Lane Ave. called Barclay. It's in a shopping center and you go in and walk down a hall and it's toward the back. Look up Barclay Pipe Tobacco & Cigar.
Hey mutton chop, if you are ever in the pacific northwest, we got some decent quaint tobacconists here. Rich's cigars in Portland and Avva Cigar and wine in Salem. Would love to see a video of you here!
The article I read in the Enquirer says that owner Jim Clark in the process of selling to a new owner who will reopen at the same location under the Straus name. I hope that is the case, I work right across the street on Walnut.
Good to see you. Love these tobacco shops. Sadly, they're all disappearing. I can recall when every town had one..
This one is already gone also. High end condos going into the building and owner wants to retire according to local newspaper interviews.

Kremer's in Louisville should be on your shared travels. Alicia is a gem and is doing her best to keep that family's legacy alive.
I love your tobacco trips….

I call them up every September to order some Sleepy Hollow.
I look forward to that every fall
Is that a seasonal house blend?
@@emeraldunderground4234 yes, it’s similar to Sutliff Pumpkin Spice.

Great series! I do hope you visit Gatlinburg, TN some day at the Gatlinburlier. That's a fantastic place.
Damn it’s cold in Cincinnati during the summer!
Good visit you had there. Maybe one day I can stop at the Florence store. Have a good one
I've stopped in here before. Work brings me into the area occasionally. Nice shops.
I missed the muttn-journeys, loved the video.
Great tour!! If you ever in the Dayton area you should check out the Wharf in Beavercreek

Cool tobacco trek. Thanks.

I don't think YT liked me posting a link to a newspaper. I read in the Cincinnati Enquirer the downtown location is closed?

What did you purchase? I look forward to trying Sleepy Hollow. I saw your review of that already.
What tobaccos did you buy from their house blends?
I just went to their website and it says temporarily closed. What's going on?
Very nice video
Can't seem to find the site to order some Sleepy Hollow. Any ideas?
You have to call them.
@@RickBarnwell they usually don’t have it until sometime in September.

Is it really that cold there now?
