So, I have only one question. Did you finally get taned?!
learn to UNCLUTCH from the MIND MAZE.
Really good video thx doing 2 hours today.
Brother, you need to learn to meditate. look up Dr. Joe Dispenza, Gregg Braden also Emily fletcher. ua-cam.com/play/PLWb-6eE7dhsomBf3wYwadS92N1e64B_Ah.html your missing out. I meditate almost everyday some days i get up to early but mostly in the mornings. I also utilize Whim Hof's breathing exercises which in its self is Amazing. try it I do all it and it cost me nothing but time and I have recovered from a back injury i had since i use to do tricks on a skateboard I also was suffering from sharp pain in my hips and now all of is gone I have no stress nor do I worry, its life changing once you apply yourself, you really have to want it otherwise you will get board. Cannabis is perfect for helping one maintain focus and patience when mediating. I speak from experience, Cannabis when used for this purpose is key. like I said earlier I cure my pain and discomfort.

I spend 8 hours every day in silence...when i sleep
You sleep in a sensory deprivation tank every day?
Jack Ashe 🤦♂️
@@jackashe3971 I sleep in a sensory deprivation tank every night, called a "bed" in a quiet room (because everyone else is sleeping) for about 7 hours. I even become unconscious during these sessions.
Lucky! I have nightmares for 8 hours. 👺
More like 5 hours for me lol
When he learns about noise cancelling headphones, he’ll flip
Zand Man 😂😂
Great magistas
When you learn about how they work you'll realize he wouldn't care. They would be extremely counterproductive
@@itsmickybroski3806 what do you mean
Timothy Nyota - He means noise cancelling headphones add more noise. What they do is analyze all the existing noise and emit frequencies that are the exact negative waveforms of the existing noise. As the existing noise changes, the negative waveform frequency changes to match. So, even though the ear is actually taking in more frequencies, they are cancelling each other out so the ear isn’t able to perceive the noise. True silence is the absence of all noise frequencies, positive and negative.
Silence in nature is even better.
Amen brother

You should do a 30 day or 60 day sprinting challenge and test your 100m sprint at the start and finish if the challenge like you did with the mile
N.T.A sorry to break it to you mate but that won’t increase 100m sprint speed by much because in order to gain more explosive power in your legs you need to build muscle
Louis Scott learning proper form and running technique will most definitely improve his speed
N.T.A yea, he will need coaching for that tho
I’m going to try this

Great video, thanks for reminding me how important quiet is. I remember reading about a woman who imposed a daily hour of quiet on her entire household and she said it really developed calm and discipline in her home.
aish face hmmm that sounds fascinating.
Just gonna throw out there that the way you inserted those earplugs you aren't getting 29 decibels of reduction, you gotta compress them, put them further down the ear canal and let them expand.
He didn't do that(didn't watch the entire vid)? Like don't everyone knows you have to compress earplugs to use? hahaha
@@iLoveTurtlesHaha why the hell would everyone know that?
Ooh I always wondered why that’s the way they were inserted when I get my MRIs lol. I guess it helps with noise reduction the farther is goes?
Guys this was really cool! I’ve always struggled with being quiet but this journey was super interesting to follow! Keep up the dope content

OrangeyAvocado Dimethyltryptamine - a chemical naturally released in the brain at death.. but MOSTCHEDDA is referring to the synthesised drug, typically smoked, or derived from plants and orally consumed (Ayahuasca), that causes wild trips/dreams/outer dimensional experiences(?) and usually lasts 10-15 minutes (smoked).. or hours (drank). I’m no expert but I hope I got that right. Sounds about right. Ha. I’ve watched a few videos. it intrigues me! Hopefully someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

i love how interesting your videos are, seeing the process of learning/ trying something new over an extended amount of time is very compelling
Thanks Josh!!

Yup agreed!
This is pretty much a dream for an introvert. 12 hours of silence is ideal for me.
I went to a camp this summer that had a mandatory quiet hour and it was pretty fun to do. We did get to hike or listen to music but I still think that little bit of forced silence was super beneficial each day. Great video!
Before your time my dude, I've been watching you for a few years and I love that your content is coming up more and more! LOVELOVE
Thanks for this video man. Very well made! Gonna try this myself.
Yeah I really want to try it one day too

Goal Guys one place to start thinking is with each breath
Supposedly doing this but while sleeping also reduces the ringing in your noise other words tendonitis or however you say it..I did this when I was in boot camp for 6 months the ringing in my ears went down when I stop doing this I noticed the ringing in my ears came back and was a lot louder
Goal Guys u tryna play chess
Very inspiring. Thank you!
I loved the experiment! 👏🏻😘 Thanks!
He has to call it silence for people to listen to his logic. It's meditation, and yes, the top 5% do this pretty much every morning
Exactly what I was going to say. I did 30 minutes of meditation for a month every morning after breakfast and I found the exact same thing as this study. I got bored, but after the boredom I was very relaxed, clear-headed and could concentrate better throughout the day. I didn't stick with it after the challenge though.

Wow, am excited 😊😊😊
Great stuff. Exciting to see the care for silence, noise reduction etc. starting to get awareness! 👍🏼 I am a musician since 45 years and a sound engineer since 30 years. I could never do homework or similar stuff while music was playing. It always absorbed too much attention so I couldnt concentrate. Vice verca I can concentrate 100% on my work, if the work is music ;-) I also started using earplugs a few years ago. I adore the silence so much I even added sound protection headphones so I had 2 times 28 db noise reduction. Listening to the inner body sounds might need a bit of time to get used to it, but I consider it really enjoyable. It always puzzled me why people pay much more attention to visual "noise" (dirt, untidy rooms etc.) than to acoustic noise or bad acoustics or how people can spend "relaxing time" in loud restaurants etc. ... well, we are all unique characters ;-)
.... side note: SO funny to see her toes going crazy at 8:37 😂
That´s a lot of time to listen to the voices in your head. You are brave, sir.
Living in New York, having a younger sibling, and not having anything that cancels sound, makes this impossible.
Damn, I never speak its been like that for 4 years, I'm sure introverts can relate.
So useful! Thanks
I rarely comment on videos... But: awesome work. Really enjoy your content!
Thanks you. That's always great to hear!
I realized the value of silence several months ago. I'm a programmer who works from home and realized listening to heavy metal or rap made solving hard problems more difficult, so I started listening to that lofi crap... then I just got bored of pretty much all music and was like "fuck it, I'll just turn it all off" and suddenly I was popping off.
I started working through the night specifically because the daytime was so loud (with kids, neighbors, cars driving by, people knocking, etc.) and was getting a ton of quality work done.
Unfortunately I also stayed up all day out of necessity (kids, meetings, etc.)... And now I'm pretty sure I did permanent damage to my brain by doing this for a couple months.
But yeah, nowadays I frequently wish I was actually deaf-deaf and will frequently wear noise-cancelling headphones with absolutely no sound coming from them (doing this right now actually), just to make the world stfu a little.
I'm pretty sure society sucks more than it's good. You and your wife should do a "Walden Challenge" and find a cabin or something to live in for 30 days where you have to farm honey and go fishing and such... Stare at the stars and getting eaten up by bugs and all that.
Damn working in silence is more productive than listening to hard rock ? What a discovery
You speak the truth brother. I am a coder as well
I heard music after finished my job and feel better
I can relate to this, noise canceling headphones with no sound is a game changer
what are the sand man 1 and 2 novels there? i have tons of the regular graphic novels but am curious about those to books? lmk thx.
Toronto is LOUD!!! Every restaurant, bar etc you go to seems to want to blast music at you.
I've been craving silence a lot lately. I'm glad you found this was helpful for you. I might try out Float. I've been apprehensive as I thought it was a smaller container...like of coffin. lol. I get a little claustrophobic.
This makes a lot of sense to me, I seem to have significant hearing gain and stress relief in the fall because i spend an average of 5 to 6 hours every day in the woods hunting, where the majority of the time it is very quiet almost silent. I kinda just thought I was crazy but this makes me realize, I may have been onto something there XD
Great video as always :D Well, I'd like to try the playlists with the silence tracks too. Normally I listen to LoFi Tracks (+ Rainy Mood) sometimes. I think a Spotify playlist or youtube playlist with empty tracks and without ads would be perfect... yeah but difficult to do that I think.
You can make a spotify playlist and put the silent song: '4'33' from the composer John Cage after each track. :)
Wait people don't do this normally?

It's kind of funny but when I spent a month in the amazon jungle the noise animals, birds and especially insects constantly are making was the equivalent of living next to a freeway.
This just makes me sad cause i spend more time in silence without even trying.
Another really interesting study ... this goes with what is being said about periods of ‘meditation’, similar I suppose .... however, living in a relatively small city in the U.K., it’s really difficult to get relatively 100% quite 😶 being born in the countryside, looking back to those days where I was young, just laying down in the grass, dappled sunlight falling through the trees on a warm sunny day ... no noise, just birds ... the breeze ... the air movement within nature, and those moments when these would subside to revel .... silence ....... beautiful 🤗
Think I’m going to ‘try’ and grab a little of this, so very rare and precious nothingness, if I can ... thanks for posting ... Steve UK

I love meditation right after waking up to ease myself into getting the sleep hormones out of my system before having to try to be productive while also controlling that urge to wake up and deciding its gonna be a shitty hard day and instead try to meet each day with not only an open mind, but an agree to disagree card and a "every day is allowed bad experiences without it being a bad day" program running in the background. That meditation really makes me way more solid and energized.
I couldn't do this. Total silence for long period of time makes me anxious and sometimes i go into a panic
Thats actually a good reason to do it. As long as you face it voluntarily then you can overcome it.
