He probably got the point that issuing Pt2, of 'Bits you didn't see' because people have already seen them in the original programmes, and decided not to pull the stunt twice.....:)
@@shyyzzz A few bits were but most of it is new. I've got the original broadcast version recorded and watched a few times, most of these clips aren't in it at all, and none of them are in it in full
"If you did anything more manly, you'd be in danger of making yourself pregnant." I just love Richard Hammond. Ever notice how the age of our three presenters is inversely proportional to their levels of maturity?
Hammond's reaction to the tarantula: Picks up spade, "I'll go for your f*cking head". Exactly what my reaction would be and perfectly reasonable in the circumstances.
Apparently no one else wanted to correct you, so I will: **CORRECTION**: "If you do anything more manly, you'll be in danger of making yourself pregnant." (At least, that's what he was definitely intending to say. Whether some of those words got lost in his haste to say them and stop Clarkson ASAP is debatable, but *what* he meant to say was obvious)
The reason bits are cut out of the US version is because the US thinks it needs to have commercials. So parts must be cut out to get it to fit in an hour time slot. Where in the UK when it airs on BBC2 there is no commercials so they can fill the whole Hour with Top Gear and not commercials :)
The reason for commercials is, companies pay TV channels to show their products, and that pays for all the operating costs of the TV channel. The BBC for example is owned by the British Government, and if you want to see the BBC, you pay a license fee every year, and that covers all their operating costs. But then there is the method used by PBS. They're not paid through adverts, and they're not owned by the government. They rely only on public donations to stay afloat.

I'm with Hammond on this. In fact, when I found out where the special was for that series, I thought that they couldn't PAY me enough to go to a place that has spiders the size of dinner plates and roaches the size of basset hounds.
If it makes you feel any better, tarantulas are pretty chill and aren't deadly to humans. The spiders that'll kill you are usually a lot smaller because they don't need to physically overpower their prey since their venom turns all the prey's organs into soup.
