- It was an exciting day finally getting to install my FD Short Shift Kit and FD Sport Exhaust after have owned the Oak Green 964 for 5 months. The shifter came extremely loose and made the driving experience pretty terrible. In addition, the exhaust was upgraded to the new FD Sport Exhaust and I have to say how much I love the growl.
I am so excited to share the experience with you guys since I am a huge fan of FD's quality products. Have completely changed the quality of the drive for me.

So cool for you to share - I did this back in '97 (damn - that time has flown by :)) on my "93 964 C2 Coupe - in my driveway using TechArt parts. Totally transformed the car ... now ... ditch the airbag steering wheel for a MOMO ... drop a killer stealth stereo .. then a Matter aluminum roll bar (they made all the factory stuff back then) ... keep the mods rock'n Drew !!!

Great video. I LOVE that Oak Green color on 911s. I have the FDM Goldenrod+Short Shift on my 993 - and I totally agree. This mod provides a huge improvement on the shifting feel and confidence with where you are as you move through the pattern. One of the best things I have made on my car.

FD motorsports has them!
I have the golden rod short shifter on my 993 and honestly, I think it makes shifting a bit harder on the syncros. Can be hard to disengage. I might go back to stock.
I’ve noticed that at times too
@@cooledcollective actually my problem was NOT the short shifter at all but I really needed a new clutch. Replaced it a few months back and now the whole set up is as smooth as silk. Love it

I wish that you could have put the coupler in and drove it before putting in the short shifter so that you can see the difference that each made. Do you know how much of a difference the short shifter made?
It’s pretty significant for me.
