Have you ever seen a movie called the disappointment’s room? It was “based on true events” in the story an architect and her family move to an old house in the country, so she can relax, hinting that she is currently suffering from mental health issues. The house was an old mansion and the husband thought she would appreciate the architecture or something like that. She even had floor plans, She was doing something with the house I forgot what. Later on she discovers a door in the large attic. She opens it and it’s a tiny empty room with metal floors, she finds it strange that it wasn’t on the floor plan. That’s when ghosts stuff happened, and she had to research the room. Then we get a pretty interesting history lesson via wise old lady at the library. A disappointment’s room is when a child of a wealthy family has a birth defect and is stashed in the room their whole lives with no documentation of their existence. After that the movie turns into her having a psychotic break and we learn she was suffering from emotional trauma, of falling asleep holding her baby and wakes up to find that she had accidentally smothered the baby and had died her psychotic break showing that the house far away from everyone felt like her disappointments room.
Whenever I hear about the original Annabelle story I always think that the Raggedy Ann doll is WAY scarier than the porcelain one from the movie. @@captaininsane9101 Yeah that's fair, but sometimes the "true" elements are a stretch, like The Strangers which is partly based on a Manson murder but loosely.
Fun fact: One of the peron children wrote a book about what actually happened in the house, gave it to the screenwriters, and they couldn't put half the things in the movie because it was too grim
Well actually the only true thing about the doll, is the notes that just appeared in the house there it stood things like : find me, Come for me, etc that part was true
I actually got to meet Lorraine Warren in person a few years ago, as I live in Connecticut relatively close to the occult museum and her and her son did a sort of meet and greet dinner party thing at a local restaurant. When asked about the accuracy of the conjuring and Annabelle movies, they said while the story in the Annabelle movie was made up more of hollywood renditions, the conjuring was about 80% accurate to the real story with little hollywood changes. They also even brought the real Annabelle doll, in her case and everything, to the event. Everyone was given very strict instructions about not touching the case and to not think negative thoughts as much as possible when around her, as evil spirits feed off of negative and vulnerable energy. It was a pretty interesting but amazing night for horror-lovers like myself.
The scariest thing about this comment is the fact that there is no "s" after ghost even though "are" was used...but that's just a theory, a grammar theory

@@Boredmf09 Yeah, conditions like schizophrenia and sleep paralysis can make someone think that they’re being possessed when they really aren’t. Nowadays, the Vatican actually has a whole protocol for exorcisms, where a person who claims to be possessed has to go through a thorough psychiatric examination before undergoing an exorcism. Only when these psychological conditions are ruled out can the exorcism proceed.

When I turned around I found a spider in a defensive position so I think he may have saved me from getting bitten. So that's why I've actually started turning around when videos mention the subject.
What I love about these stories is the fact when the real Warrens tried to sue the makers of these movies they were asked to provide proof that the stories were real. They couldn't provide proof and lost the case.
Did they? I thought the because Lorraine Warren was involved in making the movies in some way, that they would have been at least somewhat alright with it.
yeah this isn't even close to what happened. an author sued them for using some of his works and there was some controversy over how Ed and Lorraine's marriage was portrayed in the movie. they were portrayed as happily married but Ed had an affair with a 15 year old in the 60's that ended up lasting for most of the rest of his life before dying in 2006 and Lorraine never commented. the Warrens never sued Warner because Lorraine worked on the movie and Ed was dead by the time it was being made.
The new movie does a good job of supporting the whole demons in law thing considering he claimed innocence under demonic possession, and his death penalty 1st degree murder charge was changed to a 5 year manslaughter charge. And, if any of the other things in the movie are true like Loraine finding the missing girl's body, one could call it *damning* evidense. I'm not sorry.

Me: *see’s a theory I haven’t watched before * The theory: *is about horror stories * Also me: I think I’ll watch this while I take a bath. Great idea I’m very smart
I enjoy watching horror movies and don’t necessarily get startled easily but that’s a whole different story at night in my dark bedroom... it’s actually really annoying because I feel invincible during the day but regret my life decisions at night, and can’t fall asleep. It’s almost like I’m two different people, which is why I settle by compromising and watching people talk about scary movies instead.
I’m not even joking but when he said “and the bill wilcons was just said to be a hoax” I’m not even kidding, I was in the couch and infront of me was a wall and a mirror, I heard a HUGE crack or knock or whatever it was but man, that’s a crazy coincidence 😅😂
Dude, I don't wanna sound like your mom, or some insensitive person new to the internet cause I'm still 14, but come on some people will find this offensive, me personally I find it sort of funny( my point is this topic is a gray area and people either laugh at it or hate it) just second guess every comment you will type, you don't know which one will get you in trouble

There's one solid reason why paranormal horror is so popular, and why if done well sticks with 90% of its audiences. We DON'T KNOW for SURE if this could happen to us or not. Are the dead REALLY gone for good or....can they come back to play? If you hear something go bump in the night at 3:07am....is it your imagination or something else?
And that is the only reason why, even though I am a heavy sceptic, I am still not 100% dismissing the possibility of the afterlife, because I can't be completely sure. I can't prove it fake, but I can't prove it real either. However, noises in the night, I always dismiss as "something else", if only for my own sanitys sake.
I think hope is a big part of it as well. Some people hear a story about ghosts, they don't want it to happen to them, but happening to someone else means they can grab onto it and desperately hope this is proof of some sort of afterlife. The idea that some failure of biology will just snap us out of existence without warning or any chance of saving is terrifying.
I don't think it is real most time there hoaxes or causes from environmental factors. We see in a lot ghost stuff people carry emf readers and say ghost cause high emf waves but its other way around. Emf read electromagnetic waves in the air well high amounts of it can make people feel uneasy and see stuff that's not there. It throws our senses out of whack

I actually live in an old church (live-in security) and work in a haunted gas station. I will freely acknowledge this sort of thing but you will never catch me messing with an Ouija board or the occult as I know those are powers beyond our control...
@@jonathanzobel1662 lol i dont believe in god or demons but i have experienced being haunted and other things so ik spirits exist either good bad or neutral ones. Pretty sure im still haunted but i think it gave up only does something to say hi like 2 times a year lol

You should do a theory on all the crimes and fines Ms. Trunchbull and Mr. Wormwood would get if they had actually done what they did. It would be pretty cool

I always guessed that the "Based on a true story" things were part of the movie trying to scare you and not them informing you that it was real

I enjoy watching horror movies and don’t necessarily get startled easily but that’s a whole different story at night in my dark bedroom... it’s actually really annoying because I feel invincible during the day but regret my life decisions at night, and can’t fall asleep.
It is not your imagination for sure
The Answer:
Yes.
